UK Blog Tour: Sweet Ache [Driven 06] by K. Bromberg!

Publication date: 2nd June 2015
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 stars
Synopsis:
The New York Times bestselling author of Slow Burn turns up the heat when a sexy bet turns into so much more…

Hawkin Play, the bad boy rock star with a good guy heart, has lived a lifetime of cleaning up after his twin brother’s mistakes. Hunter’s most recent screw-up could land Hawke in jail and risk the band’s future. Hawke agrees to guest lecture at a local college to stay in the judge’s good graces—and a bet with his bandmate to seduce his sexy teaching assistant is icing on the cake.

Quinlan Westin is harder to bed than Hawke imagined. She knows his type and is determined to avoid the rocker at all costs—even if their attraction runs deeper than simple lust.

Just as Hawke might finally be winning over the girl, his brother has other plans. When Hunter realizes his twin finally has a weakness, he’ll stop at nothing to take advantage…

I have to be honest and say that I haven't read the first four books in this series, but I have read the fifth book, and I loved it, so I was looking forward to reading this book! I then received an email from the UK publisher about being on the UK Blog Tour and it was one of the easiest yeses I've said lol! I loved this book! It was like watching a game of cat and mouse between the two main characters that went from snarky to seriously hot lol! I really enjoyed it and I loved the cat and mouse aspect! It made for an interesting ride! The plot was also amazing! I read it in a few sittings and had a hard time putting it down! The plot also went in a direction that I wasn't expecting! It added a lot to the plot's development though! There were also some seriously hot scenes! Overall, I really enjoyed the plot and I loved the bits of suspense and the romance in it! The characters were also amazing! Hawkin was the main male character, and he was seriously hot! He was also really cocky at times, and then he gave off the impression that he was pretty vulnerable almost! Hawkin had been through a lot though and he dealt with a lot in this book too! I felt really sorry for him because he felt like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders! He did his best to handle everything though, even though he was breaking inside and he blamed himself for what had happened in his family life! Hawkin was also very protective of his brother, even though his brother didn't deserve it, but this told me a lot about the kind of guy Hawkin was! Quinlan was the main female character, and she was feisty from the first page she was introduced on! I just loved her! She told Hawkin straight and she didn't mince her words with him! I could see that she really badly wanted to give into him, but she tried so hard to resist and not be another notch on his belt! Quinlan had also been through a lot in her life, and she helped Hawkin come to terms with what he had been through and she helped him go through a lot of realisation in this book! This made me respect Quinlan so much! She put Hawkin first, even though it took Hawkin a while to be honest with Quinlan! I just thought she was amazing! I loved that this book was written from both Hawkin and Quinlan's point of views! I just don't think that the plot would have been as amazing if it was if this book had only been written from one of the characters point of views! I can't wait to read the next book in this series! I know that it's going to be about different characters, but this has made me even more excited for it! I can't wait for it to release! As much as I love the UK cover for this book, I do have to admit that a part of me prefers the US covers! The UK covers are pretty dark, whereas the US covers have a bit of colour to them and they're really pretty! I do love the UK cover though! Big thank you to Piatkus for a paperback of Sweet Ache and for having me on the UK Blog Tour!

Author bio:

K. Bromberg was born and raised in Southern California. She graduated from University of California at San Diego with two bachelors-economics and political science-but always loved to write. When not writing or working her day job, she can be found playing ninjas or power rangers with her son, fixing the hair of her oldest daughter's American girl doll, or doing 'arts and crapts' with her youngest daughter. When she needs a break from the daily chaos, you can almost always find her with Kindle in hand, devouring the pages of a good book or mentally outlining her next set of characters.
