Synopsis: Mia’s my best friend.
We’ve been inseparable since she moved next door when we were six years old. Then it all changed.
I don’t know when or why, but suddenly I want more. I want her. The problem was she didn’t.
At first.
But everything changes when you cross that line between friends and lovers.
I thought convincing her to give us a chance would be my biggest hurdle. Little did I know that was only the beginning.
Mia consumes all of my thoughts when we’re apart, and all of my senses when we’re together. There’s no going back to the way things were and I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure she isn’t just my first, but also my last.
Will we be able to hold on, or will our relationship go up in flames?
I've read this author's other books, so I was really excited about reading this one! I signed up as soon as I saw the sign-up form for the Release Blitz and started my ARC as soon as I could after I received it! I really enjoyed this book! I didn't read the synopsis before I started reading it, so I had no idea what to expect, but what I got was amazing and such a beautiful love story! The plot was also amazing and it went past and present, so you were able to see how the characters feelings developed for each other and the struggles that they faced as they grew up and settled into adult life! It was just so beautiful and I found myself grinning like an idiot whilst reading it lol! There were quite a few hot scenes in the plot too, and they added a lot to the plot! I just completely adored the plot and I loved the suspense in the present scenes! It made me fear the worst lol! I also loved the twist at the end too! I was hoping that it was going to play out that way lol! The characters were also amazing and made this book for me! Blake was the main character, and he was seriously hot! He was also the sweetest guy ever! I loved everything about him and he was so loving with his love interest, Mia! He always tried to be there for her whilst achieving his dream and providing for his family! It was also easy to see the amount of love that Blake had for Mia! He would have moved the world for her to make her happy! I must admit that Blake did sometimes say the wrong thing, but he learned from his mistakes and it made him a better person! I just loved him! Mia was the love interest of Blake, and Mia was such a sweet character and she was always there for Blake and she grew a lot in this book! She really found herself and she wanted to experience the normal college life and then settle down and have a good job and a family! I just loved Mia! She kept Blake in check and she supported him, even when he wanted to do something crazy lol! She was his crutch too and she was there for him when he went through some of the darker periods in his life! Mia was also a very forgiving character as well, and this told me a lot about her! I was expecting this book to be written from both Blake and Mia's point of views, but it was actually only written from Blake's! This did surprise me because I normally prefer a book to be co-written, but I loved this book being written from only Blake's point of view! It helped me connect more with him! It's always different reading a book from only a male character's point of view, but it's also amazing because you get to see their feelings for their love interest through their eyes! I can also completely understand why this book is a standalone! The ending was left at the perfect place and it summed up Blake and Mia's story beautifully! I'm also really happy that the author picked the ending she did lol! The cover for this book is also stunning! I didn't see it until I went to read my ARC lol, so I was surprised and excited at how it looks! It suits the book perfectly and the models are the perfect Blake and Mia! Big thank you to Rachael for an ARC of First and Last and to Enticing Journey Book Promotions for having me on the Release Blitz!
