I've read all of this author's contemporary books and I always look forward to a new release from her! I was particularly excited about this book because I love romantic suspense books, so this one was definitely my kind of read! I signed up for the Blog Tour and started my ARC as soon as I received it! After reading, I can say that I really enjoyed this book! The plot developed at the perfect pace and it kept me intrigued and wanting to find out what was going to happen next! I will admit that I was able to figure out who the bad guy was about 70% through this book, so it did end up with me just waiting for him to be caught lol! I still enjoyed it and there was plenty of romance and action and suspense scenes to keep things interesting! The romance allowed for some seriously hot scenes and there were actually a lot more than I was expecting! They were really, really hot though! The action and suspense scenes also added a lot to the plot and kept me wanting to read on! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Elizabeth 'Ellie' was the main female character, and at the beginning of this book she was very lucky! She had an amazing husband, a thriving business and the perfect life! That quickly changed for Ellie and she was left scared and fearing for her life! Ellie tried her best to keep going though and not let her situation frighten her! I also felt for Ellie because she wasn't expecting the bad guy to be who he was, so she was left hurt and betrayed! Jake was the main male character and husband of Ellie! Jake was seriously hot and such a sweetheart! He worked very hard too! Jake was also very, very protective of Ellie, which was completely understandable considering their circumstances! It was also easy to see how much Ellie meant to Jake, even after they had been married for quite a few years! He was so sweet to her, but was rough when he needed to be lol! I loved that this book was written from both Ellie and Jake's point of views! I wasn't sure if it was going to be written from dual point of view because the synopsis makes it sound like it was going to be written from the female character's point of view! I'm really happy that it was written from both Ellie and Jake's point of views though because it helped me connect with them more and it allowed for more things to happen in the plot! I can also completely understand why this book is a standalone! I'm really sad that it is because I loved getting to read Ellie and Jake's story, but the ending was left at the perfect place and summed up the character story beautifully! All the questions raised were answered too! I now can't wait to see what this author is going to release next and I'll definitely be reading it! The cover for this book is also stunning! I love it a lot and it definitely suits the feel of the book! It would definitely draw me to the book and make me want to read the story behind it too! Big thank you to L.P.
