Blog Tour & Giveaway: Finding Me [Bad Boys 02] by S.K. Hartley!

Publication date: 27th January 2014
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 5 stars
Synopsis: The lines are blurred between what is real and what isn't, the darkness that was once a place I feared was now a place of safety. If I stayed in the darkness, the hellish reality of what was truly happening no longer seemed real.

But I was about to be pulled out from under the consuming blanket of dark shadows, and plunged into the murky depths of my past. I was about to be shown my demons and all it's evil sides, all of it's pain and grief. I could only hope I survive it.

What happens when the world you once knew crumbles and falls at your feet?
Who will find me? Who will save me from my demons?

My dark prince or my white knight...

And will I find myself in the process?

Favourite quote: "You are my sea, and I am addicted to drowning in you. When I fell in love with you, I went in feet first and I never want to come back up for air."

I enjoyed the first book in this series, but there was something about it that didn't make me love it! Well... until I got to the end! The ending of the first book was insane and so unexpected that I couldn't get it out of my head for days after I finished reading it! So to say I was desperate for this book, was an understatement! I definitely preferred this book over the first book! I'm not sure why, but I connected more with the characters in this book than the first book! The plot of this book was about the aftermath of the big secret that was revealed at the end of the first book! I loved every second of reading it! It was so emotional and really tugged at my heartstrings! The plot was also developed on from the first book amazingly! I read this book in two sittings because it hard for me to put down! The plot just drew me right in and even though it was really sad, it was beautiful at the same time! The plot was really dark, but there was light to it at certain times as well! It was full of sadness as well, but it was also about realisation as well! The characters were even more amazing than what they were in the first book! Neva was again the main female character and I loved her in this book! My heart completely went out to her as she tried to process her life and all the information that she had found out! Watching Neva struggle to come to terms with everything really was heart-breaking! She was such a strong character though, but she just didn't know it! She was definitely the kind of character I just wanted to grab in a hug and not let go of them! What happened to Nova affected her so much and it took a lot of this book for her to process it and start to learn how to come to terms with it! Logan was again the love interest of Neva and he was again so hot in this book! I do think he was hotter in this book than what he was in the first book ;) Logan went through some internal struggles in this book as well and watching him struggle was equally as hard as watching Neva struggle! They were both such broken characters, but together they made each other whole! I loved that this book was written from both Neva and Logan's point of views! Logan's head was such an interesting place to be able to go into and seeing his true feelings for Neva really was beautiful! I also enjoyed that there wasn't a love triangle in this book like there was in the first book! I'm so excited for the next book in this series! I thought that it wasn't going to be about Neva and Logan when I started this book, and I was right lol! It's actually going to be Tate and Low's story and I cannot wait to read it! Plus, I'm sure Neva and Logan will make some appearances in it! The cover for this book is stunning! It suits the new cover for the first book perfectly and the guy on the front really suits the character of Angel! Well, I'm assuming it's Angel lol! Big thank you to S.K. Hartley for an ARC of Finding Me and to Enticing Journey Book Promotions for having me on the Blog Tour!

Cover Reveal: Break by Amanda Stone!

There are paths we take in life that lead us to where we are supposed to be—where we are meant to be all along. I didn’t know that my journey, which had been filled with so much pain and so much all-consuming rage, would lead me to her.

She is my salvation. My undoing. My reason for breaking…

Storm Messer has just graduated college. But instead of spending the summer traveling, like she had intended, she finds herself dumped by her boyfriend and working for her parents at their family’s prestigious restaurant.

Ryker Noakes had every intention of going away to college until he lost the one person who kept him grounded. Now five years later he finds himself spending his days working as a mechanic, and his nights working off his aggression over things he cannot change as an underground MMA fighter.

Neither could have known that a chance meeting would spark up a friendship that would lead to an undeniable romance. But when they find out their pasts collide, it threatens to destroy any future they may have together.

Breaking isn’t always a bad thing. — As long as you have the right person to put you back together.

Excerpt!

Ryker guided me backward, pushing me until my back was flush against the cool wood siding of the house. He leaned in closer, his scent engulfing me—consuming me. “Storm,” he huskily whispered. “Close your eyes.”
As if I had no control over myself, my body did as he commanded and my eyes drifted shut. I heard the creak of wood giving as he placed each of his hands on either side of my head. Even with my eyes closed I knew how close he was to me. His breaths were softly blowing against my lips. Out of habit, my tongue slipped from between my lips, moistening them in anticipation. I heard a low growl rumble up from Ryker’s chest and he placed forehead against mine.
“Ryke…” I began, but he silenced me by gently placing his finger against my lips.
“I don’t know why you fight this, Storm.” He huffed and pulled his face away from mine. “I know you feel it. You feel how right this is.” He tenderly grasped my chin in his hand, turning my head to the side, giving him better access to my neck. He ran his lips over my burning skin before placing a soft kiss where my shoulder and neck meet. My body shivered at his touch and he pulled away again. “You see, your body knows what it wants. Damn, Storm, even your heart knows what it wants. But you let your head get in the way of all that. You let your head lead you, and, baby, its leading you the wrong way.”
He leaned closer to my ear. “Just stop thinking. Stop thinking and feel. Feel how your breathing becomes erratic when I do this.” He ran his tongue along my earlobe. “Feel how your heart speeds up when I tell you how unbelievably sexy you are, and how you have me in pain just thinking about being inside you again.” He paused, and I stayed quiet, listening to his uneven breaths. “Feel how your skin tingles when I touch you.” He ran his hand down my side, his fingers leaving a trail of fire in their wake. “I do that to you. Me. Why fight this? Why fight something that feels so undeniably right? You know you want me,” he growled against my lips. “And deep down, you know you’re already mine.”

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Tainted [Torn 03] by K.A. Robinson!

Publication date: 25th January 2014
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 stars
SynopsisPart One: Facing My Demons

Drake lost everything the day Chloe walked away from him. Feeling angry and hurt by her abandonment, he dives deeper into his cocaine use. Each day becomes a struggle for him. After his band is picked up by a recording studio in Los Angeles, things go from bad to worse. What happens to a man who has lost everything he ever truly cared about?

Part Two: Learning to Love Again
When Drake showed up on Chloe’s doorstep, begging for forgiveness, she couldn’t turn him away. To Chloe, loving Drake is like breathing and she couldn’t bring herself to let him go again.

But what happens next? Follow Chloe and Drake as they learn to forgive and heal together.

Will Drake’s fame get in the way of their happily ever after? Or is love enough to keep them together?

The epic conclusion to Drake and Chloe’s story.

I was really excited to read this book! I loved the other books in this series and I couldn't wait to see what happened to Chloe and Drake next! This book was different to what I was expecting because it actually goes back in time to scenes in the second book and then it goes into the future! The first half of the book went back in time, the next 40% went six months into the future and then the last 10% went seven years into the future! I haven't actually read a book like this one before with being split into different parts, so it was a new experience for me! I liked it though! I originally gave this book 4 stars to start with, but then I bumped it up to 4.5 stars because I felt that 4 stars didn't do this book justice! It really was amazing! I enjoyed the whole idea of this book being split into three different sections, but I didn't enjoy the first half as much as the second half! The plot of the first half was highly effective and I understood it as I had already read some of the scenes through Chloe's eyes! I loved getting to experience them through Drake's eyes too though as he was a pivotal character in these scenes! The six months into the future scenes showed Chloe and Drake adjust to being back together and Chloe adjusting to Drake's growing career, but the last seven years into the future scenes made me squeal! The scenes were perfection and showed that Chloe and Drake's love really could withstand anything! The characters were again amazing! Chloe was again the main female character, but she wasn't in the first half of this book that much, as it was told during a time she wasn't there! When she was in this book though, she was just as amazing as what she was in the first two books! She was there for Drake and she grew to accept him for his career choice, even though she was scared of what was going to happen with it! I also loved that Chloe gave Drake his space and left the ball in his court with their relationship and if it was going to continue! She had also grown tremendously from the first book in this series as well! I just adored her! Drake was again the main male character and in this book, I got to go inside Drake's head and see how he felt and what he was experiencing when he was away from Chloe in the second book in this series, Twisted! It was such an experience going inside his head during his drug addiction, but it was also amazing seeing him battling his demons to get better! I also adored that it was his ultimate love for Chloe that got him through! Going into the future in this book also showed how far Drake had come! It showed that he was a lot stronger than he thought he was and it showed him that he didn't need to take drugs ever again to get him through! I'm really sad that Chloe and Drake's story is over, but what a story is has been! I'm also super excited that another character in this book, Logan, is getting his own book! I can't wait to read it and I'll definitely be anticipating its release! The cover for this book is so hot! Like seriously, can it get any hotter?! I think not! Big thank you to K.A. Release Day Blitz: Collaboration by Michelle Lynn feat. Nevaeh Lee!

This is not your typical rock star romance. For one, the “rock star” is a rapper. And not just any rapper. Trace is the hottest ticket in the music industry right now, regardless of which definition of ‘hot’ you choose.

Taryn Starr is not the girl-next-door who unknowingly meets a celebrity. Known as “America’s Sweetheart,” the reigning country music princess and world-renowned superstar knows exactly who Trace is…or does she?

Their worlds collide when the musicians whose paths were never destined to cross are forced by their joint record label to collaborate on a song. The sparks fly and ignite a fire that blazes hotter with every minute they spend together—for better or worse. One thing’s for certain, the two media magnets can’t deny their explosive chemistry, but will life in the spotlight ultimately bring Trace and Taryn together or force them apart?

Author bios:

Michelle Lynn:

Michelle moved around the Midwest most of her life, transferring from school to school before settling down in the outskirts of Chicago ten years ago, where she now resides with her husband and two kids. She developed a love of reading at a young age, which helped lay the foundation for her passion to write. With the encouragement of her family, she finally sat down and wrote one of the many stories that have been floating around in her head. When she isn’t reading or writing, she can be found playing with her kids, talking to her mom on the phone, or hanging out with her family and friends. But after chasing around twin preschoolers all day, she always cherishes her relaxation time after putting the kids to bed.

Nevaeh Lee:

Nevaeh’s first exposure to writing began in a middle school creative writing class. She was reprimanded for composing a politically incorrect story and forced to re-write about a “safer” topic. Being the writing rebel that she is, Nevaeh always likes to push the envelope a bit and never re-writes, unless her editor insists on it.

When she’s not writing, Nevaeh is a freelance book editor ;). And when she’s not reading, writing, or editing, she can be found spending time with her family and taking road trips, exploring the area around wherever she happens to be living at the time. Even though “home” will always be Texas, she has lived in several different states and countries, but currently resides in the DC metro area.

She also adores her really big dog who frequently takes her for walks while enduring her many story ideas and rambling dialogue, which sometimes occurs in multiple languages. After many years of this, she finally decided to start writing out some of these stories and her first book, a joint effort called Collaboration, will be self-published on January 26, 2014.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: TAUT: The Ford Book [A Rook and Ronin Spinoff] by J.A. Huss!

TAUT IS A STANDALONE NOVEL - you do NOT have to read any of the Rook and Ronin books first.

Ford Aston is known for many things. Being an emotionless, messed up bastard, a freakishly smart social outcast, and a cold, domineering master who keeps "pets" instead of girlfriends.

And after Rook broke his heart, he plans to keep it that way.

Ashleigh is known for nothing, and that's exactly what she's got going for her. She's broke, stranded in the mountains with a three month old baby, and Ford Aston is screwing with her head.

Big. Time.

And she plans to mess with his right back.

It's a coy game at first, filled with flirting, and innuendo--but Ford soon realizes something is not quite right with Ashleigh. In fact, something is seriously, seriously wrong and the closer they get to their final destination, the closer Ford gets to the truth.

One night of devastation, self-loathing, and emptiness turns into the best thing that ever happened to Ford Aston. But one day of in-your-face reality threatens Ashleigh's whole existence.

******
Since A LOT of people have been asking here is the scoop on how this book fits in with my Rook & Ronin series:

Ford first appears in Rook and Ronin #2, Manic. He has a bigger role in Panic, R&R #3, and then he has a novella, called SLACK. This TAUT book is only FORD. It's not really part of the R&R series, as that plot has all been sidelined for this one romance book.

This was my first book by this author and it was so awesome! I was excited to read it because the cover's hot and the synopsis sounded really interesting, even though it doesn't tell you the main plot line of the book! This book started out pretty slow, but at about 40% through it, it just exploded and the plot just went crazy! It was pretty epic! I did love the last half of this book better then the first half, because as I said, it did start pretty slow! After a certain point though, the plot sped up so much and my heart was in my mouth for most of it! I wanted the characters to have a happy ending so badly and I wasn't actually sure if they were going to get it! The plot was pretty, damn amazing! I wasn't expecting it and I was that hooked, I read this book in two sittings! I was desperate to find out what was going to happen next and how the plot was going to develop! There were also a few twists in the plot, which did have quite an impact and could have changed the whole outcome! The plot also dealt with some things that I actually wasn't expecting to play a part in it! It dealt with the mafia, which I wasn't expecting! I was quite surprised with where the plot went, but it was a good surprise! I haven't really read one like it before! The characters were amazing! Merrick was the main character and I just loved him! I normally don't like reading books written entirely from a male point of view, but I loved this one! I found Merrick really easy to connect with and he was such a genuine guy! I loved his determination and that he didn't back down as well! Merrick was also fiercely protective, but he wasn't as much of a bad boy as I was expecting! Trust me, he did have his moments though! Amelia was the love interest of Merrick and she was messed up in some deep crap! She was in deep and she wanted out! Her form of escape came in the a very hot, very lovable guy - Merrick! I loved Amelia! She was such a sweet person and I connected really well with her considering this book wasn't written from her point of view at all! She was the main centre of the plot in a sense and I was kinda surprised that this book wasn't partly written from her point of view though! As I said, I thought that maybe this book was going to be written from a dual point of view between Merrick and Amelia, but it was only written from Merrick's point of view! I think if it had been written from dual point of view it would have been a bit more, not interesting, but I would have been able to get more insight into Amelia's feelings and how she felt going up against part of the mafia! I can completely understand why this book is a standalone! The plot was resolved and all, but I found it hard to say goodbye to Merrick and Amelia! Their ending was absolutely beautiful though! I wouldn't have written it any other way! It was perfect! I will also definitely be checking out this author's other books! I have them all, so now all I have to do is read them lol! The cover for this book is hot! Like, really, really hot! I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it and it suits the book really well! Big thank you to Ashley for an ARC of Permanent Lines and to ACS Tours for having me on the Blog Tour!
