Book Blitz & Giveaway: Tender Temptation [Charming Irish 01] by Kaylene Winter!

Excerpt!

   I wouldn’t say I’m panicking.
No. I don’t need to say it. I feel it in every part of my body. Queasy stomach. Shaky hands. Exhaustion.
My parents are due back in three weeks and I still haven’t told Cillian the full truth.
I suck. I’m disappointed in myself. With each passing day, the reality of my situation sinks in. The freedom I’ve grown used to is about to evaporate. So is my relationship with the man I’m falling in love with.
The thought is unbearable and there’s nothing I can do to stop it.
Today’s been particularly rough. Hilde stopped by my room and caught me packing a bag for the week and made a point to ask if I “would be sleeping at home anytime soon.” Though I’ve been expecting some sort of blowback, her comment took me by such surprise. I wasn’t sure what to say except to reiterate I was enjoying my time with Emma.
Her disapproving look sent a chill down my spine.
Made me wonder if the jig is up.
Still flustered, now I’m in rush-hour traffic on my way to a Belltown construction site where Cillian is overseeing the latest phase of one of his high-rise development projects. My stress level is through the roof, which isn’t helped by the fact no cars are moving. It would be faster to walk, at this point.
Aaaaaarrrrgh. I’m fucking frustrated. I should be excited to see Cillian, he always has something fun planned for us. Instead, the butterflies, which threaten to burst out of my head, aren’t from anticipation of spending time with my man, but from the crushing weight of my secrets and what will happen when they’re exposed.
Something tells me I’ve run out of time. If I don’t tell Cillian soon…
I can’t even think about the alternative.
In an attempt to distract myself, I rehearse our conversation in my mind. I could be straightforward. Or, try to make a joke out of it. Maybe I could give him a “what if” scenario to see what his reaction is. The reality is, there’s no way to confess and at this point, it probably doesn’t matter. Either way, he’ll be upset.
   Upset. Ha!
   I’m totally screwed.

I’m a master at rebuilding structures, yet my own life is a constant work in progress. As the middle brother in a family of superstars, I’ve battled alcohol addiction and shoulder the hefty challenge of taking over the family business.

My world makes a seismic shift when I fall hard for Ivy Bright, a vibrant, enigmatic firecracker whose captivating energy makes me feel invincible.

Ivy is more than just a spark in my shadowed world—she’s a blaze. Her luminous presence ignites a clandestine desire in me that I can’t resist. But Ivy harbors deep secrets and a tragic past that keeps her trapped in a life she never chose. Despite our undeniable chemistry, her decision to conceal her age and identity backfires spectacularly, threatening to unravel both our hearts.

Years later, will our rekindled passion withstand buried secrets that come to light, or will the truths of our past push us apart forever?

Release Day Blitz: Rags to Royals [Royals Gone Rogue 03] by Erin Nicolle!

A small-town single mom like me has no business believing in fairy tales.

But the very handsome, charming, dirty-talking prince (yes, seriously) I met nineteen months ago now has his fine ass and panty-melting grin planted on my front porch.

He’s been searching for me ever since I snuck out after our hot, fantasy-filled weekend together.

And, dammit, that’s a little romantic.

Now that he’s found me, he wants to pick up where we left off.
Because he thinks he’s in love with me.

Oh, and because he needs to get out of the marriage his grandfather, the king, has arranged for him.

Right. Even if I hadn’t lied to him about everything but my first name, the carefree, adventurous woman he burned up the sheets with for three days doesn’t exist.

I'm actually a stressed-out mechanic back in my small hometown, raising a sassy fifteen-year-old daughter, and trying to make amends for my mean girl past.

I just don’t think my grease-streaked work boots scream princess material.

Of course, he won’t take no for an answer.
Shocking, I know.

Instead, he proposes a deal: I give him nineteen days to get to know the real me.

Then he’ll either get over me, go home, and marry someone else.

Or I’ll walk down that aisle.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Spellcaster Wild Card by Nikki Jefford!

Excerpt!

Everything is spinning. My body. My vision. My brain. I clamp my mouth shut to keep from vomiting. The cleaning crew just got the stage cleaned. Then there’s the second reason I keep my lips pressed tight. I refuse to beg Malachi for mercy.
My hands flail and grasp for something to hold on to, but the wind rushing between my fingers is no help. If this is what flying feels like, then it’s highly overrated. I lean forward in an attempt to go vertical, which has the ill effect of pitching me forward so I catch a brief view of how far I am from the stage. My body flips around another time. I don’t want to land on my feet and crush my ankles. I certainly don’t want to land on my head and shatter my skull. I don’t want to break anything on my body!
If I won this season’s prize, I could defend myself instead of swirling helplessly like the roof of a house caught in a tornado.
The wind rips out my hair tie and blows my braid out in an instant. Blond hair whips me in the eyes. My body begins to descend slowly, while the spinning continues in full force. The tornado fades little by little into the stage until I am set down gently and it disappears altogether. I try to remain standing while the theater seats and stage continue to spin, but I tilt to one side and misstep. Thump. I fall to the stage, sprawled out on my side. It could have been worse, though. Way, way worse.
It’s a little hard to feel grateful as partially digested lunch rushes up my throat. I swallow it down.
Malachi stomps over. “What the hell was that, Hutchins?”
Great. He’s using my last name. The coaches never use contestants’ last names. I must be in trouble.
It’s a serious effort to get to my feet, which takes outstretched arms to keep my balance, but I’m not about to listen to this lecture in a crumpled heap on the stage.
My loose hair tickles my cheeks. I swallow again and cover my mouth with my hand. Malachi’s not in my face, but I don’t want him scenting my vomit breath. Well, not technically breath, but whatever foul waft might originate from the leftover taste on my tongue.
Malachi doesn’t wait for me to answer his question before drilling into me. “First rule of magical combat—never lose hold of your wand.”
“You lost yours,” I mutter, which is the wrong thing to say.

Win the game. Change the world.

Winning the show means living forever. It is the golden ticket to fame, fortune, and a place among the vampire elite.

Being remade isn’t on my wish list. I like being me, and with nearly a million online followers, it’s working. My parents and big sister are the do-gooders in our family who want to make the world a fair and just place for all humans and paranormal creatures. I just want to finish high school and keep doing what I do best—sharing hair and beauty tips while discussing Spellcaster and how the show’s vampire judge Malachi Rayne is the hottest male on the planet.

Then, life as I know it ends. There are evil forces who will stop at nothing to maintain world dominance—indefinitely.

It’s hard to care when I’ve become dead inside and out.

After my family is violently attacked, the host of Spellcaster insists I audition for Season 13. For the first time in the show’s history, they want to represent every species of paranormals. That’s me now. Not human. Not vampire. Not the class of creature anyone EVER cheers for.

This season’s prize is power beyond anyone’s imagination. It is the kind of reward that contestants and their sponsors would kill to possess.

Let the other contestants and judges underestimate me. They can gossip all they want about the hotshot wizard and the alpha werewolf behaving as though I’m another prize to be won. And if Coach Malachi can’t handle a bold influencer with abilities, then he can suck it. I preferred watching him from the other side of the screen. He’s about to discover that Haylee Hutchins is a force to be reckoned with. The whole world will.

Someone thought they could silence my family for good. Instead, they created a monster. I’m still here, and I am much harder to kill.

I’ve got 99 problems, and picking the wrong guy might be all of them.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: The Parent Playbook [Love on Thin Ice 05] by Elsie Wood!

Excerpt!

Before I know it, Scotty’s placing an empty water bottle atop his head, standing with a mock-serious expression, hands by his sides. “All right, Annie Oakley, let’s see what you’ve got.”
I hesitate for a split second—am I really about to throw my boot at this man? But the impish spark in his eyes is too much to resist. I slip off my boot, balance it in my hand, and toss it gently.
It spins through the air, perfectly knocking the bottle off without so much as grazing his hair.
Scotty applauds. “Nice shot! But was it luck or skill?”
“I think we’re about to find out.”
“Over here!” He runs to the other side of the barn and I’m a few strides behind. He snatches his safety goggles, balancing them on his head, but they’re no match for my aim. I knock them off with a satisfying thud.
   “Over here!”
A feed bucket, an egg basket, and a grooming brush later, I’ve kept my perfect score.
“You’re amazing!” he shouts. “Wait, I know …” With a particularly devilish grin, Scotty puts on his cowboy hat. “This one’s for all the marbles, Angel.”
“You’re asking a lot of me here. That baby is hugging your head.”
   “I have confidence in you.”
“That’s one of us anyway,” I mumble as I take aim, my heart pounding—not from the game, but from the way he looks at me, like I’m the only woman on earth. “Here goes nothing …”
The boot flies true, flicking the hat right off that handsome head.
“Yes!” he cries, and next thing I know, I’m heading for him.
As if drawn by a magnet, I stumble right into Scotty’s waiting arms. Our bodies crash together, his hands steadying me at my waist, and we laugh, my hands on his chest. We’re face to face, breaths mingling, the laughter filling the barn until it fades out and all that’s left is him and me.
His eyes search mine, and there’s so much affection, such tenderness, that something inside me melts on the spot.
Kiss me. Kiss me. Kiss me.
I bite my lip as my arms gently push on his chest.
   What am I doing?
I have no idea. I can’t tell what I want. I think it’s him, that I want him more than I’ve wanted almost anything, but a force in me presses him back.
This is a silly crush. A silly crush on a super handsome, considerate, helpful, gentle, intelligent, muscular man.
He lets me go, and I don’t know if he just ruined it or saved us both, but he follows up by setting a box of screws on his head.
“How about this? One more for good luck, unless you’re scared of hitting something other than hats.”
The spell may be broken, but my heart still races. “It’s a small target, but I’ve been known to hit a gourd with an arrow from thirty yards at Maple Fest.”
   “Prove it, cowgirl.”
Must calm these overwrought nerves. I wind up, ready for the shot …
   “MOM!”
“I WASN’T DOING ANYTHING!” I shout as the boot flies a little too forcefully, my aim a little off.
And it smacks Scotty straight in the face.

I don’t know when dad jokes and mismatched socks became my type, but that hockey dude skated into my life like a runaway puck… and I think I like it.

Angel:

I know I should be thankful that my charity was selected by the Ice Breakers hockey team. It’ll make a huge difference in children’s lives all over the state.

There’s only one problem:

I hate hockey dudes.

I have to remind myself of that fact when Scotty MacFarland with his groan-worthy dad jokes slips into my life like he’s always been there.

No matter how hard I push back on that perfectly formed chest, Scotty remains strong, giving me the space I need. I’m beginning to think I don’t want to have so much space anymore.

But by the time I figure that out, it just might be too late.

Scotty:

The only thing I love more than hockey is my daughter.

It was a no-brainer for me to give up the ice when I became a single dad, and I didn’t look back. But when the call came to coach the Ice Breakers, the opportunity was too good to pass up, and I thought my girl would thrive with a fresh start in Maple Falls.

Turns out, the leaves weren’t the only thing falling in Maple Falls.

Angel Davis swooped into my life and pieces I didn’t know were missing started to fall into place. A devoted single mom, director of a children’s charity, and all-around spark of sassiness, she and I find an easy rhythm, despite her throwing a boot at my face.

But Lily comes first. And if I have to leave behind a future with Angel before it’s started in order to do what’s right, I will.

Though it seems fate has other ideas.

Release Day Blitz: Blindside Beauty [Varsity Dads 06] by Lex Martin!

My football player ex cheated on me, so the last thing I need is to fall for another quarterback. Especially when he’s still mourning his baby mama who tragically passed away.

After I accidentally plow my car into Nick Silva’s bumper, I can’t blame him for not hiring me to be his daughter’s nanny, but I’m still salty about it. I need the money to go on a trip of a lifetime, one my ex didn’t want me to take.

The worst part is Nick just moved in next door.

I’m sure he associates me with my dirtbag ex—his former teammate—so I try to avoid my neighbor whenever possible.

But when his new babysitter gets locked out of the house, leaving Nick’s four-year-old alone inside, I attempt to rescue her by breaking in through a window.

Unfortunately, I have a wardrobe malfunction and end up flashing my goodies to the whole neighborhood, Nick included.

Because of my embarrassing heroics, Nick’s now convinced I’d be a great nanny.

The trouble with football players is they’re very persuasive, so I agree to take the job but immediately regret it.

Who needs to see a gorgeous, shirtless man jumping rope and doing push-ups in gray sweatpants? Who wants to watch a sexy, single dad snuggle his little girl and read her bedtime stories? Who enjoys working closely with a walking, talking thirst trap every single day?

Fine. I do. I want all of that, but I already swore I’d never date another jock after the last one stomped all over my heart, so this bookworm needs to play it safe.

But rumor has it Nick has a new girlfriend, which helps me maintain appropriate boundaries.

Because I won’t be blindsided by another quarterback again.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Second Chance With a Cowboy [Lassiter Ranch 03] by Jennie Marts!

Excerpt!

The water did look amazing, and he’d been dying for a swim all afternoon.
He shucked off his boots and jeans then let out a whoop as he raced past her, wearing only his black boxer briefs, and splashed into the water.
He ducked his head under then came up, shaking the water out of his hair. The temperature was perfect, warm but not hot, and cooler the deeper it went. He lifted his hand and beckoned her toward him. “Come on in. The water’s fine.”
   “No way. I don’t have a swimsuit.”
He offered her one of his best flirty grins. “Never stopped you before.”
She shifted from one foot to the other, chewing on her bottom lip.
“I know you’re mentally weighing the pros and cons,” he told her. It was what she’d always done.
She planted a hand on her hip. “You don’t know me that well.”
“Yeah, right. Go ahead. Lay them on me.”
She let out a little indignant huff before starting the list. “The biggest pro is that the water looks incredible, and I’m hot and could practically die from wanting to go for a swim.”
“Avoiding dying seems like a pretty big pro. What kind of con could possibly challenge that?”
“Wellll, the biggest one is that getting in the water means I’d have to take my clothes off.”
“Nope. That definitely goes in the pro column for me.” He waggled his eyebrows playfully at her. “Oh, come on. You’ve got nothing I haven’t seen before.”
“Oh yes, I have. I have much more now than you’ve seen before. I’m no longer a seventeen-year-old girl with flawless skin and no dimples or cellulite. My body has changed. I am much…” She paused as if struggling to come up with the best descriptive word. “Much curvier now.”
“I happen to like your new curves. In fact, the curvier the better I like to say.”
“Oh yeah? When do you like to say that?”
“Just now. And also, any time there’s a possibility of a gorgeous, curvy woman, stripping naked in front of me.” He offered her another one of his trademark grins—the one that most women couldn’t resist.
But most women weren’t Eleanor Gibbs.
   She was different.
“Tell you what,” he said. “How about if I turn my back, and I won’t look while you strip down and wade in.”
She twisted her mouth from side-to-side with indecision. “You promise you won’t look?”
He held up two fingers. “Scout’s honor.”
She arched an eyebrow. “Now I know you’re lyin’. You were never a Boy Scout.”
He laughed. “Okay. I promise I won’t look…after your shirt and shorts come off.”
   She huffed again.
“Come on, darlin’,” he drawled. “You gotta give me a little something here.”
“No, I don’t.” She tried to keep the annoyed expression on her face but couldn’t hold it as she broke into a laugh.
He splashed a small spray of water in her direction then held up three fingers. “All right, you had your chance to do this the easy way. Now, Miss Eleanor Gibbs, you’ve got exactly three seconds to peel those clothes off, or I’m coming out of this lake to do it for you.”
Leni narrowed her eyes at him. “You wouldn’t dare.”
Oh, he would dare. In fact, he couldn’t wait to dare. Chevy took a step toward her as he called out, “Three!”
She let out a shriek as she retreated up the shore, splashing water as she walked backward.
His grin widened as he took another menacing step toward her. “Two!”
“Okay, you win. Stop counting.” She laughed as she shimmied out of her shorts and tossed them further back onto the bank, then pulled her shirt over her head and pitched it toward the shorts, leaving her in only a black lacy bra and a pair of black bikini panties. She made a circular motion with her hand. “Now, turn around.”
He stared, the sight of her half-naked body making his mouth go dry.
The last time he’d seen her like this, she was seventeen, and he was a horn-dog teenage boy. Now, she was a full-fledged woman, round and lush, and as his gaze roamed over those curves she’d described, he felt like that love-sick out-of-control teenager again.
“Why are you staring at me?” she asked, self-consciously putting her hands up to cover herself.
“I can’t help it,” he said, all teasing aside. “You’re just so gorgeous.”
A grin tugged at the corners of her lips. “Stop it.”
   “It’s true.”
“You’re just trying to get me to take my bra off in front of you.”
He shook his head, trying to keep the sincerity in his voice. “No, it’s true. You’re beautiful.” He couldn’t help the grin that creased his face. “Although, if you do want to take your bra off in front of me…”

Three abandoned cowboys, born in heartbreak and bonded by brotherhood, are brought together by the fierce love of the grandparents who took them in and the ranch that’s the only home they’ve ever known…

He gave her up once, but will he risk everything for a second chance?

Ford, Dodge, and Chevy Lassiter are three half-brothers whose mother named them after the trucks that their dead-beat dads drove away from them in. Chevy is the middle brother, the easy-going flirt who uses his charm to keep anyone from getting too close. He’d only let himself fall in love once…but then he’d pushed her away so she could chase her dreams of becoming an aerospace engineer—leaving him and their small-town life behind.

Eleanor (Leni) Gibbs left the small Colorado mountain town of Woodland Hills behind ten years ago. Now she’s back, temporarily trading rocket science for diapers to help her sister with a new baby, but isn’t sure she can handle facing the cowboy who broke her heart. But the undeniable chemistry between them still simmers beneath the surface, and every encounter has her wondering if they’re meant for something more.

Both have been burned by the past, and neither knows if they can trust the other—or themselves—with their fragile hearts. As old wounds reopen and new sparks fly, can Chevy and Leni find the courage to take a second chance on love—or will he let her fly away again, this time for good?

Release Day Blitz: The Pretenders of Copper County [Copper County 01] by May Archer!

It was supposed to be a straightforward protection job. Remove the target from Vermont, get him to the safehouse, keep him there until his mafia uncle testifies, get back in my employer’s good graces.

Boom, done. Easy.

But it turns out things get complicated real fast when your target is an adorkable, accident-prone cutie with a shockingly low sense of self-preservation, zero clue that he’s related to the Fromadgio crime boss, and 100% too much inclination to chat happily with strangers.

When Chris compromises our safehouse (and accidentally starts a “lowkey, unavoidable” bar fight), our only option is to go undercover… pretending to be campground hosts in Copper County, New York.

Make that married campground hosts. (Long story.)

Now I’m hiding out with a guy who’s obsessed with action-adventure shows and hand-knit sweaters, and whose most fearsome talent is arranging charcuterie boards, all of which is far less helpful in a gunfight than you might think.

And worst of all… the sweet little virgin I rescued is growing on me.

Somehow I find myself listening to his happy chatter when I should be watching the woods, trying to figure out how his mind works when I should be getting us out of this predicament, and appreciating the way he looks in my shirts when I should be focused on getting my career back on track.

But when the Fromadgios’ enemies finally find us, protecting Chris is no longer just a job. I’ll do anything to protect what’s mine… and there’s nothing pretend about it.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Lily of the Valley by Megan Derr!

Excerpt!

"Father," she greeted as she came through the private entrance at the back of the throne room and curtsied to him.
King Aldous, recently turned fifty, was a divisive king. Most nobles found him frustrating when they were in a good mood, and wanted him dead when he really pissed them off. Everyone else tended to admire him greatly. At the very least, they were relieved he was nothing like his father, who'd been well on his way to being a tyrant when he'd fallen ill and died in the span of a few hours, and suddenly his nineteen-year-old son was king.
"Lily," he replied, and kissed the back of her hand affectionately before she took her place by his side. "You wanted to speak with me?"
"About Ferdinand's 'cousin,'" Lily replied, still smiling pleasantly, giving nothing away to anyone watching them. "It will keep until after this meeting. I've already set people to look into the matter further."
"Hmm," Aldous replied, his way of saying he agreed with her about how troubling it was.
They fell silent as the room filled, conversation creating a low din, guards and servants rushing about to sort out one problem or another. The seating in the throne room ran along both sides of it, arranged in five rows, each higher than the one in front of it. There was also gallery seating, for those who wanted to see the public proceedings but did not merit a seat below. Snotty nobles liked to call that area the gawkery.
Behind her, the door opened to admit Ferdinand, looking his usual self, and yet something prickled along the back of Lily's neck all the same. Her usual dislike, the strangers, or something else entirely, she couldn't say. Why her father insisted on retaining him as steward, she would never understand. His intelligence and political acumen did not, in her opinion, make up for the fact he was a nasty little rat who got handsy with the maids.
Ferdinand bowed to both of them and took up his position to the king's left. Arrayed behind them were Josiah, her handmaidens, Aldous's bodyguards, and a handful of trusted clerks should anything need to be delivered or retrieved. Guards lined the length of the hall on both sides, twice the usual number to hopefully mitigate the displays of outrage they feared would come. Because they were making people pay their fair share of taxes.
As everyone settled, more or less, Aldous gave a signal to a waiting clerk, who rang the enormous gong behind the thrones, calling the meeting to order.
The atmosphere was decidedly tense. Lily felt sorry for none of them.
Stepping forward, Aldous extended his arms in a gesture that was welcome and supplication all at once. "Welcome, all. I know today brings news that makes—"
   Thunk. Gurgle. Aldous collapsed.
Lily stared, uncomprehending, as her father's blood poured from his throat.

Lily is the first crown princess her kingdom has ever had, and many look forward to having a queen on the throne someday. Others are vehemently against it, and the anger stirred up by dramatic and severe changes to certain laws is causing even more turmoil.

When that tension finally explodes, Lily finds herself running for her life, forced to leave behind everything she knows and plunge blindly into the dense, dangerous forest that surrounds the royal palace. A forest said to be filled with ancient ruins, monsters, and ghosts who laugh at unwary travelers.

Instead of finding monsters and ghosts, Lily is found by a woodcutter, gruff and quiet and clearly not pleased to be saddled with an uninvited guest who doesn't even know how to fetch water from a well. But Lily has nowhere else to go, and no way of getting home safely, not when there are people still looking to remove her head.

If she hopes to live long enough to claim her throne, she must first prove her worth to the woman who can't wait to be rid of her.
