Blog Tour: Stone of Destiny [The Danaan Trilogy 02] by Laura Howard!

Publication date: 15th April 2014
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 stars
Synopsis: Allison thought it was crazy enough when she found out her father, Liam, wasn't entirely human. But now she has to join his magical allies to unravel his former mistress's plans. Aoife wants to keep Allison's parents apart forever.

Despite Allison's efforts to keep Ethan, the only guy she's ever cared about, out of this supernatural mess, fate keeps throwing him back into the mix.

Will Allison be able to find the amulet that holds the enchantment Aoife placed on Liam and destroy it? Are Ethan's feelings for Allison strong enough to endure the magic of the Tuatha De Danaan?

Woah! I can't believe that it's been a few days shy of a year since I read the first book in this trilogy! The weird thing? I still remember what happened in it! I will admit that I did go back and re-read the last chapter of the first book to familiarize myself with it again, but the author does an amazing job at reminding you of everything that happened in the first book in this book, which is something I loved! The plot of this book continued straight on from where the first book stopped! It was all about the characters continuing their journey and about the main character learning more about the world she had been hidden from! I do have to say that there were still a lot of questions at the end of this book! None from the first book were really answered either! There's still one more book to come though, so I'm hoping all my questions will be answered! I did love the plot though and I also loved that there was some action in it too! The characters were again amazing and were developed so well! Allison was again the main character and in this book she knew what she was and she had started to learn how to use what she was to the best of her ability! I just loved Allison in this book! She was strong and she was determined to protect the people she cared about! She still had the same personality from the first book, but she was like a different person because she grew a lot! I loved everything about her in this book and I can't wait to see how she's going to develop in the next book! There was the glimmer of a love triangle in the first book and it sort of felt like it was still there at the beginning of this book, but then it sort of disappeared as Allison's relationship with one of the guys started to develop more! Just like the first book, the love triangle was between Allison, Ethan and Aodhan! I would have loved to have the love triangle be a major part of the plot, but I did love that Allison didn't play the guys against each other! Ethan was the main love interest of Allison and I did love him! I had such a soft spot for Aodhan though, but he wasn't in this book a lot! There were quite a few secondary characters in this book too! Some of them were from the first book, but there were a few new characters introduced too! All these characters added so much to the plot and I hope they make appearances in the next book! I'm so excited to read the last book in this trilogy! I can't wait to see how it's all going to end and what's going to happen! The ending of this book was a bit sudden though, which I wasn't expecting! It was almost like it ended mid-way through a conversation! The cover for this book is stunning! Absolutely stunning! I love how well it suits the first book's cover too! Big thank you to Laura for an ARC of Stone of Destiny and to Lady Amber's Tours for having me on the Blog Tour!

She has been lying to herself to keep from feeling the pain of her parent’s death. Now she is twenty and she’s ready to start a life of her own. Moving into her parent’s lake house would be the perfect escape. Wouldn’t it? That’s what she thought. Only, it led her right into the emotional place she’s been hiding from all this time. All of those years of running from her feelings, she now has to face them. It’s too much. She can’t deal with it alone. Someone has to help. She’ll do anything to escape the heartbreak, but you can only run so far.

Travis only saw the Evan’s during the summer when they moved into the lake house. He and Dane were best friends. When Dane invited him and the old gang to a welcome back party at the Lake House, he couldn’t wait to go. It turns out getting wasted was only half the fun. Seeing Sawyer was the other half. She was the sexiest girl he’d ever seen and he was going to make sure that she knew it. Only she shot him down time and time again. He’s determined to break down those walls and get inside her head, but he’ll have to be sober to do it, and no matter how hard he tries, she’ll always run. He can’t keep chasing her. He has to figure out a way to make her stay.

It’s time to stop running, stop hiding, and start learning where the true escape lies. Everyone will face heartbreak, but not everyone will find love.

I freaking loved this book! It was such a cute book with a dark background! I was really excited about reading it before I got my ARC because I'd spoken to someone who beta read it and they said it was amazing, so my excitement was upped lol! The cover and synopsis also made me desperate for the book too because the cover is stunning and the synopsis sounded like the kind of book I'd read! The plot of this book was so cute and light, but quite dark at the same time! I absolutely loved it! I loved its development and I always found myself reading a few more chapters every chance I got! It was so cute as well with the developing romance in the plot too! There were also a few twist and turns in the plot to keep it going and to keep me desperate to read on and find out what was going to happen next! I just overall loved everything about the plot! The characters were just as amazing as the plot! Sawyer was the main character and she was just amazing! She had been through a lot, and because of this she'd been through a lot of changes in her life in such a short time! My heart went out to her when I found out her story because she felt disconnected from the people around her and I could see that it really affected her! Sawyer really started to learn how to cope with her loss as this book developed and it was really all down to one familiar face! I just overall loved Sawyer and I could understand why she reacted the way she did in some situations in this book! She grew a lot as a character in this book too, which I loved! Travis was the love interest of Sawyer and he was so hot! I just loved everything about him! I loved how protective he was of Sawyer and I loved that he was there for her the whole way through this book! I also adored Travis' relationship with his brother, Waylon! He was the main carer of his brother and I could see that he would do absolutely anything for him! I really admired this about Travis! I also adored his personality and that he was fiercely protective of the people he cared about! I really enjoyed this book being written from both Sawyer and Travis' point of views! I was kinda expecting it to be after I read the synopsis, but I'm really happy it was! It really helped me connect with both characters more and I loved getting to go inside both of their heads! I thought that this book was a standalone when I was reading it and when I finished it, but there's no way it can be after the ending! I'm super happy to discover that this book is actually the first book in a series! I can't wait to read the next book! I'm really excited to read it and find out what's going to happen next! The cover for this book is absolutely stunning! I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it! The model on the front really suits the character of Sawyer too! Big thank you to Regina for an ARC of Escaping Heartbreak and to Enticing Journey Book Promotions for having me on the Blog Tour!

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Letters Home by Rebecca Brooke!

Publication date: 10th June 2014
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 5 stars
Synopsis: Life is all about the jigsaw, right? Finding the different puzzle pieces to complete your very own picture. A career you love, a house to make a home, a lover to complete you, and keep you warm at night.

Danielle Renton has a life, and she loves it. A recent law school graduate, she’d been floored when her boyfriend, Nate Lewis, enlisted during their sophomore year of college. At the time, she’d been concerned with what that meant for them as a couple, but in the years that followed, they’d learned to adapt to the logistics of an army relationship.

But when life throws her a curve ball, how will she cope? Can she pick up the pieces and make her picture beautiful again? Or does she realize that, sometimes, the pieces can be too broken to fit back together…

I was really excited about this book when I first heard about it because I've read one of the books in this author's other series and loved it, so I was looking forward to reading more from her! This book was hauntingly beautiful! I knew it was going to be an absolute tear jerker before I even picked it up because the synopsis doesn't give too much away, but it gives you enough for you to possibly know what's going to happen in the plot! I have to say that I only glanced over the synopsis before I started reading, so I wasn't too sure what to expect when I started reading! What I got though was amazing and so emotional! The plot of this book was just so beautiful, but it went quite dark at points, and then it gradually started becoming beautiful again! I did expect there to be tears while I read this book, but I have to be honest and say that I was able to hold most of my tears in! I have no idea how I did it because there were some scenes that were so brutal and emotional! Those scenes completely made the plot though! The characters were amazing! Danielle was the main female character and my heart just completely broke for her! I watched her go through some of the most loving and most beautiful moments of her life, and then I watched it all be taken away with a click of my fingers! I then watched her struggle to come to terms with what she had been through and in time she then she gradually started to learn how to move on and cope with what she had been through with the help of someone she least expected! Danielle was such a brilliant character and I connected with her all the way through this book as well! She was so brave and I could completely understand why she reacted the way she did at times! Tanner was the main male character and he had such a soft, gentle approach to his relationship with Danielle! The relationship had to go like that though or else Danielle would cower and run because of how fragile she was! I just adored Tanner and seeing his relationship with Danielle grow was the sweetest thing! I could also see that he would do anything to cause Danielle as little pain as he could and that he had some deep feelings for her! I wasn't expecting this book to be written from both Danielle and Tanner's point of views, but I'm really happy it was! It definitely helped me connect more with both characters and I loved getting to see their feelings for each other grow through both of their eyes! I can completely understand why this book is a standalone! Everything was resolved and it had a good, solid ending! The cover for this book is absolutely stunning! I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it and I think it represents the book beautifully! Big thank you to Rebecca for a copy of Letters Home and to Enticing Journey Book Promotions for having me on the Blog Tour!

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Break Me [Summer 01] by Harper James!

Publication date: 10th June 2014
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 stars
SynopsisGemma Andrews doesn’t trust men.

She’s been left with a bitter taste in her mouth after her father left her mother while she was still pregnant, for another woman, and started a whole new perfect family. Gemma doesn’t feel like she belongs with her father’s family—with her family—and has done everything she can to push them all away.

One summer, her last summer stuck with these people, is about to change all of that.

Abe North, the hunky night guard she meets by chance, breaks down Gemma’s carefully built cinderblock walls, and shows her what she’s been missing out on. He helps her to reconnect with the brother and sister she has kept at a safe distance all these years. In the end, maybe, just maybe, Abe can show Gemma that all men aren’t bad and that he’ll be the one who’ll be there for her.

But is Gemma ready to accept love?

Or is she too broken?

I was really excited about reading this book! I did start reading it when the cover hadn't been revealed, so all I had to go on was the synopsis! I'm really happy I took a chance on it though because it was such a cute book! The reason why I didn't give this book the full five stars though is because it took me two attempts to read! I got about maybe 12% through it the first time before I just felt that I couldn't read anymore! The plot of this book was developed brilliantly though!  Even though it took me two attempts to read, I did find myself unable to put this book down the second time I read it and I found myself reading a few more chapters every chance I got as well! The plot also had a few unexpected twists which did change the way I thought this book was going to go! I did overall really enjoy the plot and it did grow on me as it progressed! The characters were amazing! Gemma was the main female character and I have to admit that she did annoy me a bit at the beginning of this book! I just felt like she was a pretty unappreciative person because she felt she couldn't have a relationship with her dad because he left her and her mum! Gemma's attitude changed really quickly in this book though, which I loved! Once she started a relationship with her love interest, she became a happier person and she was able to start to see eye to eye with her dad, which I loved! It showed Gemma in a new light for me! Abe was the main male character and he was so stinkin hot! I loved how affectionate Abe was and he really did think of everything! There was something about Abe that just drew me to him too! I loved his attitude and that he wasn't like a lot of other male characters in books I read! He wasn't a bad boy or anything like that! He sure had his moments though lol! Abe did do something in this book that completely surprised me! Well, he thought he did something! What he did did make me lose a bit of respect for him, but then things happened and my respect for him went up again! I wasn't really expecting this book to be written from both Gemma and Abe's point of views! A few scenes were also written from Gemma's step-sister, Kate, and Abe's friend, Trey's, point of views as well, which was cool! I did love getting to go inside all the characters heads as it made this book even better! I thought that this book was a standalone when I first heard about it, but now it turns out it's the first book in a series! I can't wait to read the next book and find out what's going to happen next! I know the next book is going to be Kate's book too, which makes me even more desperate for it! The cover for this book suits it perfectly! It represents a scene from the book and I actually squealed when I got to the scene and connected the cover to it! It's freaking stunning and I really hope I get the chance to see it in paperback! The models also really suit the characters of Gemma and Abe too! Big thank you to Harper for an ARC of Break Me and to Everything Marie Tours for having me on the Blog Tour!

Release Day Blitz & Giveaway: Melting Into You [Due South 02] by Tracey Alvarez!

Big, sexy men who don’t relate well to kids need not apply…

Kezia Murphy plays her widow card well. When you don’t trust people not to let you down, it’s easier to not get involved—and getting involved with a man who makes her skin sizzle just by looking at him would be una pazzia—crazy! Four years ago while Kezia’s daughter, Zoe, battled leukaemia, a tragic accident stole her husband’s life. Starting over in the little town of Oban where she’s adopted into the close knit community on Stewart Island, Kezia and her daughter are all the family the other needs. Except Zoe yearns for more.

New Zealand’s worst candidate for instant fatherhood…

Ben doesn’t do gooey emotional stuff. He doesn’t do cosy home and family. And he sure isn’t the big teddy-bear Kezia Murphy, the woman he secretly fantasises about, thinks he is. So when Jade, his surprise eight-year-old daughter arrives on his doorstep, he’s a D-minus student struggling to pass a crash-course in parenting.

They’ll either melt or raze their lives to the ground…

When the sparks of attraction between Kezia and Ben fan into an inferno, Ben doesn’t know how much longer the layers of resistance around his heart can resist melting into the gooey mess he fears. The more he fights it the harder it is to make the choice that will destroy the family he now longs to claim.

All for Allie [Shaken 1.5]!

Walking away from her was the hardest decision I ever made. Leaving her without an explanation broke us both. Our hearts have been left shattered. I could make excuses. I could lay the blame on others, but still I made the decision. I had to. It was the only way to protect the both of them.
After all of Allie’s loss, my thought was only on her and her happiness. On her love and need for her big brother. I was replaceable, Kyle wasn’t. I wouldn’t allow him to crush her heart with his death. I knew I had follow him. I would throw myself on top of bombs, in front of bullets, whatever it took to get him home to her, alive. There are two sides to every story, and you’ve only heard one. Don’t be so quick to judge; I hate myself for what I’ve done. But all that I did, it was all for Allie.

Shattered & Mended [Shaken 02]!

My mind was made up and my decision had been made, but fate felt the need to rear her ugly head and demand control.
Fate is guaranteed, not to be reckoned with, and she won’t be defeated. You see, she’s the author to our stories that have already been written; there’s no editing them. Try as you might, but all you’ll do is piss her off.
When you fuck with fate’s masterpiece, tragedy strikes, death occurs, and hearts get shattered. I’ve never been one to follow the rules. So instead, I stood with arms wide open and I challenged her. I knew the possibilities of her kicking my ass were high, but I refused to back down. I invited all the heat she packed, and quickly learned my lesson…
You don’t fuck with her.

Blog Tour: Stone of Thieves [Robbin' Hearts 02] by Diane J. Reed!

Robin in the Hood [Robbin' Hearts 01]!

“Is it any wonder I became a bank robber?”
But she never dreamed she’d fall in love…

Wealthy high school student Robin McArthur thinks she has it all figured out when it comes to bilking her wealthy dad for guilt money as a substitute for his genuine affection. Until one day he suffers a stroke, and she learns the brutal truth:
They’re broke.
Her stepmom has skipped the country.
And everyone from bankers to bookies has lined up in her dad's hospital room to collect on the millions he's racked up in debt.

Panicked and desperate, Robin figures she has two choices. Either surrender to the pestering caseworker and live in a skanky foster home, or take a chance and sneak her dad out of the hospital to make a run for it. Little does she know that stealing a car and hitting the road means that before the day is through, she will rob her first bank.
