Release Day Blitz & Giveaway: Letting Go [The Garage 01] by Holly Renee!

When Kat was forced to leave the only home she had ever known due to her brother's secrets, she wasn't prepared for what was waiting for her in Tennessee or the choices it would force her to make.

Kat instantly knew she didn't like Blake Reagan. He was cocky, stubborn, and infuriating. What Kat didn't understand was why she couldn't stop thinking about him or the way he made her feel.

The last thing Blake expected was for Kat Archer to storm into his world and turn it upside down. He thought he had her pegged from the beginning, but she destroyed everything he thought he knew. Blake was willing to fight to push his way into Kat's heart, but she put up a wall at every turn as she clung to her past.

If she stayed, she'd risk the only family she had left. If she left, she'd lose Blake and every piece of her heart that he'd managed to steal.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Love Always, [Game of Hearts 01] by Sonya Loveday & Candace Knoebel!

Publication date: 25th August 2015
Paperback edition: -
Source: Paperback
Rating: 4.5 stars
Synopsis: I’ve met boys like him before. Rich. Bored. Always wearing a silver-spooned smile. But there is something different about him that piques my curiosity. The way he looks at me, like he is staring through the bars of a gilded cage he’s never left. Like he is one breath away from suffocating beneath a mound of responsibilities. He is different from the rest because he doesn’t wear his money… his money wears him. I just don’t think he knows it yet.

She’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before. She’s everything I’ve never been able to be. Carefree loo. Whimsical. A dreamer. Her laugh is infectious. She is irresistible. I can’t help but be drawn to her with an intensity that steals my breath and muddles my senses. I want to know her, need to know her, but how can I allow myself that liberty when I don’t have the freedom to make my own choices?

Phillip and Maggie think they have it all. Even though they come from opposite backgrounds, they each have bright futures paved out, with no distractions holding them back.

Until the fateful day they meet each other.

After a brief, adventurous time together in The Hamptons, Maggie and Phillip find themselves saying goodbye just as the spark of love flashes intensely between them. Can their budding connection be enough to survive the pulling tides of change, or will they drift apart before they even have a chance to explore what could have been?

Two of my favourite people and authors writing a book together? Yes, please! I was really excited about this book when I first heard about it! I love both these authors books, so I couldn't wait to read one that they wrote together! I signed up for the Blog Tour as soon as I heard about it and started reading my ARC as soon as I received it! This book was cute! Like, seriously cute! I can't think of a better word to describe it lol! I also wasn't 100% sure what to expect from it after I read the synopsis, but it was very beautiful and developed so well! The plot also really surprised me! I wasn't expecting the characters to be so different, but for their relationship to be so beautiful! There were also a few twist and turns in the plot too, and I didn't see some of them coming, especially a big one near the end! I just loved the plot, and the ending to the book was so beautiful and perfect for the characters! The characters were also amazing! Phillip was the main male character, and he was controlled in every aspect of his life by his mother and father! They expected Phillip to act in a certain way because his family had money and their name was known! Phillip was oblivious to this, but he became more rebellious as this book progressed and he realised how much his parents controlled him! I loved Phillip! I loved him even more as he became more confident and in control of his life! He grew a lot in this book and this made me really happy because he deserved to do what he wanted and live his life the way he wanted too! Maggie was the main female character, and I loved her! She was so carefree and cute! She also had a different outlook on life than probably any other character I've read! It was very enlightening because she looked at everything differently! Maggie also didn't think before she did things and she would do anything and everything once lol! She was exactly the kind of person that Phillip needed to show him how to live life and show him what he was missing! Maggie also wanted to get out there and explore the world and see and experience things that were different and out of the ordinary! I loved that about her! I also loved that this book was written from both Phillip and Maggie's point of view! I guess it had to be because of the plot and character divide! It also expanded the plot! I'm assuming that one author wrote Maggie's point of the view and the other wrote Phillip's! I honestly couldn't tell which author wrote which point of view because both flowed so well together! I love when that happens with co-authors! I'm also unsure whether this book is a standalone! I definitely see potential for a prequel book for two secondary characters, but I'm not sure if the authors plan to write one for them! I really hope they do! I love the cover for this book! You see how well it suits the book after you read it! It's so pretty and I can't wait to see it in paperback! Big thank you to Sonya and Candace for an ARC of Love Always, and for having me on the Blog Tour!

Author bios:

Sonya Loveday, first and foremost is a reader, an avid one. It is of that love that brought her to purchasing her first laptop in 2009, and publishing her first novel, Casted, in 2013. In early 2014, Sonya expanded Casted and then went on to publish Spelled, the sequel to Casted in March, wrapping up the series, and her stint with Paranormal Romance. For now. Not long after the completion to the Casted Series, Sonya tried her hand at New Adult/Coming of Age, a sub-genre of Contemporary Romance. Thusly, the Six were born with The Summer I Fell, which released at the end of July 2014. The demand from readers was instantaneously, which brought about End Note, the second book of the series in December 2014, and book three, If Ever I Fall, in June 2015. To date, Sonya lives in Central Florida with her husband, and two kids, and is currently working on the fourth book of the Six Series. Be sure to keep an eye out for upcoming news on Sonya's website!

Candace Knoebel is the award-winning author of Born in Flames—book one in a young adult fantasy trilogy. She discovered in 2009 through lunch breaks and late nights after putting her kids to bed, a world where she could escape the ever-pressing days of an eight to five Purgatory. And an outlet for all the voices residing in her head. Published by 48fourteen in 2012, Born in Flames went on to win Turning the Pages Book of the Year award in February of 2013. In January of 2014, the last book in the trilogy, From the Embers, was released, thusly completing the trilogy. She now works on the Night Watchmen Series, while guzzling Red Bulls and pretending to be a ninja on Heelys.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Bounce [Boomerang 03] by Noelle August!

Excerpt!

Skyler's Point-of-View
Chapter 20

Good lord in a basket, it’s him all right. Grey. Illuminated by the golden lights coming on along Venice Boulevard. With suds and water sluicing off his ridiculously ripped body, cascading from his massive tattooed biceps, running down his taut muscled abdomen. His swimsuit sags dangerously low, clinging to his sturdy thighs, making, um, everything, pretty evident.
   And evidently pretty impressive.
Probably, this would be a good time to actually speak some words, but even in a town full of hot, hot people, this is kind of stratospheric.
“Yep, it’s me.” Grey reaches back to turn off the shower, which breaks the spell, so I can at least avert my gaze like a decent person. Then he rubs a towel vigorously over his gleaming body and tucks it around his waist.
He has a strange look on his face—peevish, embarrassed, and it feels suddenly like we’re intruding on something. Or maybe it’s just me. I think about that moment in my trailer. His fingers on my skin. My wanting and not knowing what to want.
“Uh, so, what are you up to?” I ask in an effort to win the prize for most obvious question ever. “I mean, I can see what you were up to.” Seriously, Sky? “But, uh, were you just in the water? What brings you out here?”
“I’m crashing nearby. At the garage where my band rehearses.”
   “Really?” asks Mia. “Why?”
Grey looks from me to Mia and then back to me, weighing something. Maybe whether or not he can trust us. He’s got this hot, coiled energy all the time, like he’s always holding back. Like he’s an animal caged inside a human body.
“Just staying there for a few weeks.”
“Because of your mom?” I ask. It was obvious from their interaction on set that there’s some bad blood there, though compared to my mom, she seems kind and thoughtful, whip-smart and curious without being overbearing. Which makes sense, given her offspring.
Then I remember that Grey’s not really her offspring. He said “stepmother,” and the way he said it really answers my question.
Which is good, because he doesn’t actually answer it. Instead, he gathers up his stuff—surfboard, wetsuit—and gives us a grin. “I gotta head out,” he says, as though nothing’s hanging there between us. He looks away for a second, following the path of a guy in an Obama mask as he weaves his way up the boardwalk on a ribbon-festooned unicycle. “Told some friends I’d hook up with them tonight.”
“Wait,” says Mia. “So, you’re just sleeping in a garage? Like on an air-mattress or something?”
Grey shrugs. “A couch. It’s okay.”
“And taking freezing cold showers out on the beach? That doesn’t sound great, does it, Sky?”
“No, it doesn’t,” I say, but I’m afraid of where she’s going with this.
“Can’t you stay at a hotel or something?”
He shakes his head. “Money’s a little tight right now. I’m giving Adam almost every penny to pay him back for the house, and I don’t really have…” Again, he goes silent, and I can feel, literally, the tension of him wanting to talk, wanting to say more to someone. Needing it.
“Why don’t you come stay at our place?” Mia blurts. We have that in common. The blurting thing. “I mean, I’m just about all moved out, so there’s room.”
Ay, dios. No. No.
But I can’t say anything. I can’t tell my best friend, who knows I’m talking to Brooks, starting to maybe, sort of, think about where that could go, that having Grey in my apartment, so close all the time, is a very dangerous, very bad idea.
Grey shakes his head. “Nah, I appreciate it, but I’m cool here. I promise. Thanks, though.” He takes a few steps toward a squat gray building with weather-beaten shutters and a tiny, shed-like garage in the back. “I’ll see you guys tomorrow.”
“Hang on,” says Mia, pulling me along. She gives me a look, tipping her head in his direction, like she’s tapping me in for the debate. “You’re cool with it, right, Sky?”
“Of course.” Not. In no way. “But it seems like he’s got it under control here. So, if—”
My words disappear, though, because Grey’s pulled up the garage door, the muscles of his broad back and shoulders shifting smoothly as he thrusts the door up along its rusting track.
“See?” he says, pointing to a lumpy white couch sporting what looks like a half-century’s worth of mystery stains—a perfect complement to the funk of beer and weed and sweat potent enough to make my eyes water. “Perfectly fine, right?”
But, like me, he’s lousy at hiding his feelings. Even turned away to shove some empty beer cans into a garbage bag, his body language tells me everything.
He doesn’t want to be here in this musty space, crowded with furniture and audio equipment, the only natural light coming in from the tiny half-moon windows set into the garage door, which faces a dim alleyway.
“You should come stay with us,” I say, surprising the hell out of us both. “I mean, this is…”
“It’s fine,” Grey insists. “I don’t need much, and I’m hardly ever here.”
I think how different he is from Brooks, who says what he means, tells you—without hesitation—what he wants.
“Come on,” says Mia.
“Seriously,” he tells us. “It’s really nice of you to ask, but I’m fine. I can’t afford—”
“I paid up on the place through the end of the lease,” Mia says. “You can just chip in on food and utilities. I’m sure you can manage that, right? It’s only for a few weeks. And you’d be rooming with two awesome, super hot girls. How can you say no to that?”
He looks at me, and I can see he’s worried about the same things I am. Rooming together. Being too close, constantly one second away from making a really dumb choice. He’s young and too reckless for me. And a musician, on top of it all. He’s everything I don’t need sharing my space.
But something tugs at me, makes me put all of those concerns aside. I see it in his smoke-gray eyes, which are so alive, so deep and full of thoughts. Some pain or fear lives there. Something that makes it so hard for him to accept. To take a simple kindness. It’s not just about me but about trusting. Anything.
Seeing that, I can’t let him spend another night in this crappy place. Just…alone.
“You should come home with us,” I say. “It will be…a lot better than this, I promise.”

Playing the occasional club gig just isn’t cutting it for twenty-two-year-old cellist Skyler Canby, who’s trying to support herself and her mother back home in Kentucky. Persuaded by her best friend Beth to accompany her on an audition for the first feature film launched by Blackwood Entertainment, she figures why not? Beth’s a shoe-in for the lead, but maybe Skyler’s newly dyed pink hair will help her stand out enough to score a small speaking part.

Never in her wildest dreams does Skyler imagine she’ll land the lead role or that she’ll have her shoes knocked off her feet by the kiss her audition partner, Grey Blackwood, plants on her—a kiss that feels very real and not at all “acted. ”

After throwing a party that causes thousands of dollars of damage to his older brother’s home, reckless musician Grey Blackwood gets roped into working off his debt on the set of his CEO brother’s newest project. Grey spends his days fetching coffee and doing odd jobs around the studio, but he lives for nights when he performs with his band. He knows if he can stay focused, success as a singer is just around the corner. But that’s tough with a distracting pink-haired girl occupying his every waking thought.

Skyler and Grey have every reason to resist each other. But, like a song neither of them can get out of their minds, they have no choice but to go where the music takes them.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Rock Bottom by Jamie Canosa!

Excerpt!

“Stop grinning at me like some loon.”
“What? Isn’t it nice to make people smile?”
   “Not like that.”
“Like what?” He was doing it again—the grin, the dimples, the whole shebang—and I wasn’t sure my heart could take the added pressure.
“Argh!” I threw my hands up in an aggravated huff and turned my back on him with every intention of storming out of there and maintaining what little dignity I had left. That is until I heard his chuckle and the sound of his feet moving to catch up.
“Okay. I’m sorry. I’ll never smile at you again.”
When I gathered the courage to actually look at him, he was wearing that damn poker face again. I couldn’t help it. I burst out laughing.
“Now, how’s that fair?” He mock pouted which only served to make me laugh harder. “I can’t smile at you, but you can laugh in my face?”
“No—I didn’t—I’m sor—I’m sorry,” I panted trying to control the hysterics. I hadn’t laughed that hard in a long time.
“Clearly, there’s only one solution to this.” Annnd the dimples were back.
“What’s that?” My wary tone only made him smile brighter.
“You need to go on a date with me.”
“A . . . what?” On the list of things he might have said . . . Yeah, that wasn’t even on the list. At all.
“A date. It’s this antiquated ritual where a guy usually has to pick the girl up, chauffer her around, open doors, and pay for crap. It’s a little sexist if you ask me, but I’m willing to endure it with you. But there are rules.”
   “Rules?”
   He nodded seriously.
   “To our date?”
“Yes. First, no dressing up. I don’t do ‘dressing up’ and I can’t have you making me look bad. Second, you must have fun. No worrying about school, or grades, or starving children in Africa, or whatever the hell it is that has you looking like you’re sucking on a lemon half the time.”
   “I do not look—”
“And third—and this is important, so pay attention—I’m allowed to smile at you as often as I like, and you are required to laugh more. I like the sound and I almost never get to hear it.”
My heart didn’t just trip. It full-blown face planted in my chest.

Sometimes life can change in an instant. Sometimes you can point to a single event and say, ‘That’s where everything changed.’ And sometimes the change is so gradual you don’t even realize it happened until you're looking in the mirror one morning and no longer recognize the person staring back at you.

My name was Rylie Stark. And I had everything.
The looks.
The money.
The brains.
The athleticism.
Even my very own Prince.

Everything, until . . .

The thing about being on top of the world is . . . it leaves you a long, long way to fall.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Breathe Me [Me 01] by Jeri Williams!

Publication date: 13th July 2015
Paperback edition: 162 pages
Source: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 stars
Synopsis: You know how you hear those stories about once abused kids growing up and overcoming the difficult life they have been dealt and becoming majorly successful like FBI agents or lawyers or something cool like that and never having any lingering problems?

Well this isn't one of those stories.

I used to know how my life as going to be, how I was going to live out my lifeless days, unloved and fearful. Hopeless to the possibility that life, my life could be anything better than what it is now. I knew that I would either give up, or give in, either one would eventually being the end of me and I didn't think that was so bad. I would no longer be constantly reminded that I was shit, and would be shit no matter how hard I tried in life. I thought it was all easier to just slip away.

But that was before....

I was originally going to do a promo for this Blog Tour and not a review, but after thinking it over for a few hours and reading some ARC reviews on Goodreads, I decided to do a review! The synopsis intrigued me and the cover is stunning! I'm so happy I decided to review this book! I really enjoyed it and it dealt with some tough issues that at times were hard for me to read! It was very intriguing though because it made me want to find out what was going to happen next and whether the main female character was going to tell someone or leave! I also read this book in a few sittings! It would have been one, but I had to force myself to put the book down to go to sleep lol! The plot was written very well! There were some horrible scenes that made me want to hit the main character's mother, but then there were some seriously hot scenes too, so they kind of evened each other out in a weird way lol! The plot also developed at a really good pace and held my interest all the way through! The characters were also amazing! Harley was the main female character, and my heart completely went out to her in this book! She was mentally and physically abused by her mother and she was scared to tell someone or leave her mother! I kept hoping that Harley would pluck up the courage to leave her mother in this book, because I couldn't understand why she stayed, but I guess all the mental abuse had a huge impact on her and her mother kept telling her that she had nobody and that she couldn't be loved! I loved Harley though! She also had a façade on when she was with friends, which again made me feel sorry for her because she couldn't be herself, but there was one guy who saw through Harley's facades! Deklan was the main male character and love interest of Harley! I have to start by saying that Deklan thought more with his dick than what he did with his head in this book lol, but he did start to think more with his head as his relationship with Harley progressed and he found out what was going on at home with her! Deklan was also seriously hot, but he knew it lol! He had also been through a lot and he had suffered abuse at the hands of his father, but unlike Harley, he managed to escape from it, so he tried to help Harley escape too! I did love Deklan, but I wish that he hadn't thought with his dick so much because that put me off him a little lol! I wasn't sure if this book was going to be written from dual point of view, but it was! I loved the book being written from both Harley and Deklan's point of views! It made the plot even better and it helped me connect more with both characters! I can't wait to read the next book in this series! The ending of this book was left at the perfect place, so I can't wait to find out what's going to happen next! As I said, the cover for this book is stunning! It's light and dark, which definitely suits the feel of the book and I love it! Big thank you to Jeri for an ARC of Breathe Me and to Book Enthusiast Promotions for having me on the Blog Tour!

Taylor’s quiet. Too quiet. He operates in permanent stealth mode, and he hides his secrets as well as Sara does. She doesn’t want to be attracted to him, but after a night spent in a hotel room together, trapped by a blizzard, she can’t deny there’s a fire-hot connection between them, waiting to ignite. Their working relationship inches closer and closer to friendship, until one day she gathers her courage and kisses him.

It’s the match Taylor was waiting for.

What starts as a sweet, fumbling friendship quickly becomes a passionate and intense affair. Just when Sara’s starting to feel safe in Taylor’s arms, his secrets come out, and she wonders if she’ll ever be able to stop looking over her shoulder.

Synopsis: Beautifully written, with a love story at its heart, Saskia Sarginson delivers a psychological and suspenseful novel, perfect for fans of Maggie O’Farrell and Liane Moriarty.

Eliza Bennet has the life she's always dreamed of. She's who she wants to be, and she's with the man she loves. But Eliza is living a lie. Her real name is Klaudia Myer. And Klaudia is on the run. She's escaping her old life, and a terrible secret buried at the heart of her family.

This is the story of Eliza and Klaudia - one girl, two lives and a lie they cannot hide from.

I have to be honest and say that I hadn't heard of this author until I received a surprise package from Little, Brown Book Group with this book and another book in it! This book isn't my typical genre of book, but it sounded awesome when I read the synopsis! The cover is absolutely stunning too! I was then asked to be on the UK Blog Tour and I said yes to a review! I wasn't 100% sure what to expect from this book as it isn't my typical read, but I enjoyed it! It was definetely different to my normal reads and it was totally different to what I was expecting it to be! I didn't expect it to be so different to what I was expecting, but as I said though, I did enjoy it! There was also something about it that made me want to read on and find out what was going to happen next! It felt like the plot followed two different people, but it actually followed one person from a child to their adult life! It was very interesting and I wanted to know more about the mystery aspect! There was also the element of romance in the plot, but it wasn't the main focus! I was really happy it was in there though, as it added a lot to the main character's development! The characters were also awesome and very well developed! I'm not sure what to call the main character, so I'm going to call her Eliza/Klaudia lol! You'll understand why she has two names after you read the book, but I won't say too much about it as it's spoilery and I definitely don't want to give any spoilers away lol! I will tell you that Eliza was the character's name in her adult life up until a certain point, and Klaudia was her name in her childhood! I loved Eliza! She was so freeing and she did what she wanted, meanwhile Klaudia felt trapped and she wasn't allowed to do and experience a lot of things! I felt really sorry for Klaudia, but she did come a long way in this book, even if she did experience a big loss along the way! There were also quite a few secondary characters in this book, like Klaudia's parents and friends, and Eliza's love interest and friends! They all added so much to the plot and Eliza/Klaudia's changes in the book! I had respect for all of them, and especially loved Eliza/Klaudia's love interest, Cosmo! I loved that he never strayed too far from Eliza/Klaudia and I could see that he had deep feelings for her! This book was written from I would say three different point of views! It was written from both Klaudia and Eliza's point of views, but there was a third poinf of view too! The third point of view added a lot to the plot! I can completely understand why this book is a standalone! Everything was wrapped up and all the questions raised in the plot were answered! I also know that this author has some other books out, so I'm going to check them out too and maybe give them a read! Her next release sounds amazing too! As I said, the cover for this book is stunning! It suits the book so well and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it! It has such a haunted feeling to it, which really suits the feel of the book! Big thank you to Piatkus for an early review copy of The Other Me and for having me on the UK Blog Tour!
