Blog Tour & Giveaway: Tumble [Dogwood Lane 01] by Adriana Locke!

Publication date: 26th February 2019
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 stars
Synopsis: After being burned by her dream job in New York City, sports journalist Neely Kimber suddenly finds herself jobless and paying a long-overdue visit to her hometown in Tennessee. Her plan? Relax, reset, and head back up the corporate ladder. There’s just one unexpected step. Neely’s back in Dogwood Lane for barely a day when she sees the man she ran from nine years ago: the bad boy next door who was her first kiss, her first love, and her first heartbreak.

Devoted single dad Dane Madden knows he hurt Neely in the worst way. He’s got a lot to make up for. And as passionate as their reconnection is, it’s a lot to hope for. Having her back in his arms feels so right. But falling in love all over again with a woman who wants to live a world away is bound to go so wrong.

What’s it going to take for Neely to give him—and Dogwood Lane—just one more chance?

I haven't read any of this author's other books, even though I have a few of her books on my Kindle! I then saw this book in the publisher's email that they sent me and I loved the cover a lot, so I decided to give it a read! The synopsis also sounded like my kind of read too! After reading this book, I can say that I enjoyed it a lot! I was intrigued from the first chapter and wanted to know what was going to happen next! The plot developed at the perfect pace and it only took me about three sittings to read because I had a hard time putting it down! The plot also didn't have a lot of action and suspense in it, if any, which was a bit disappointing for me, but there was plenty of romance and sexual tension between the two main characters to keep me interested! The romance allowed for a few seriously hot scenes too! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Neely was the main female character, and in this book she wasn't really sure what to do with her life! She had quit her job and came back to her hometown to have some time to herself! I liked Neely a lot in this book and could understand why she was conflicted! She wanted to do something with her life, but she went through a lot of realisation in this book and I think that she definitely made the right choice, even if it did take her a while to figure everything out lol! Dane was the main male character and love interest of Neely! I was intrigued by Dane in this book because there was something about him that made me want to know more about him! I found out a lot about Dane in this book and he was such a sweet guy that just wanted to do right by this daughter! He had also been through quite a situation with Neely and then they went through a lot in this book, but it was easy to see that Dane loved Neely and wanted to be with her, even years down the line! I loved that this book was written from both Nelly and Dane's point of views! I wasn't 100% sure if it was going to be written from dual point of view after I read the synopsis, but I'm really happy that it was! It allowed for more things to happen in the plot and it helped me connect and understand both Nelly and Dane more! I now can't wait to read the next book in this series! I'm not sure when the next book is going to release because I can't find any information on it at all lol, but I really hope that it releases this year sometime! I also can't wait to find out who the main characters are going to be because the ending of this book was left at the perfect place for Nelly and Dane, so I'm assuming that the next book is maybe going to focus on a secondary character from this book! I can't wait to check out this author's other books too! The cover for this book is also absolutely stunning! I loved it as soon as I saw it and it definitely drew me to the book ad made me want to read the story behind it! The cover image is also perfect for the characters of Nelly and Dane! Big thank you to Adriana, Montlake Romance and Netgalley for an ARC of Tumble!

Release Blitz: Love Me Like You Won't Let Go by Melissa Toppen!

You never get over your first love. It’s something I’ve heard countless times. Like someone has to point out that your pain will never go away. That your shattered heart will never mend.

Because that’s exactly what my heart did the day I watched Asher Evans board that train- it shattered, splintering into a million tiny fragments that I didn’t think I’d ever be able to piece back together. He was the boy I had loved since I understood what loving someone meant. The one who knew me inside and out. The one who swore he’d never let me go. It’s been six years since that day and even now the memory haunts me like it was yesterday.

I’ve done my best to move on, to rebuild, and for the most part I’ve done pretty well. But all of that comes crashing down when Asher strolls back into town like he never left.

I don’t want to want him. I certainly don’t want to need him. But that doesn’t stop me from doing it anyway. Only things are different now. I’m different. I’m not the girl he left behind all those years ago. I may have been foolish enough to give him my heart once but I won’t make that mistake a second time. Or at least that’s what I tell myself until I’m standing face to face with the one man who has the power to break me all over again.

Love Me Like You Won’t Let Go is a STANDALONE second chance romance.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Kiss From a Rose by Bella Fontaine!

Excerpt!

Once again, I was sitting in a waiting area.
This time, I was outside Aunt Halle’s room. We weren’t allowed inside with her yet.
I watched Caine sort out all the paperwork. He filled out various forms and gave all his contact details.
I was too numb to think, and we hadn’t actually spoken yet. Not hello, or anything. He’d just jumped into action and sorted things out.
There was one thing that I’d heard though. He said he was with Halle when she collapsed. It was he who’d called the ambulance.
He was there when it all happened. And I wasn’t.
I was in town at the spa thinking of how bad my life was when the woman who’d sacrificed so much for me fought for her life.
I couldn’t believe it. I was so numb I couldn’t think straight, and this all felt like I was watching what was happening play out like it wasn’t happening to me but someone else.
Caine finished talking to Dr. Fernandes and looked at me.
I gazed at him, and like always got that stunned moment where I got sucked into his looks and had to remind myself that the guy couldn’t stand me.
When we saw each other last, he was eighteen and I was fourteen. He’d looked like the regular high school jock who was popular and played football and had the prettiest girls on his arm. Much as I couldn’t stand him back then and knew the feeling was mutual, I was annoyed at myself for finding him attractive.
That annoyance very much filled me now because Caine Donoghue had traded in his boyishly handsome looks for the powerfully-built Navy man who stood before me. He’d cut his long, dark locks and sported a sharp faux hawk that accentuated the angles and planes of his chiseled face and his high, exotic cheekbones.
I couldn’t have been more annoyed at myself for even thinking about him, and at a time like this.
He walked up to me with a tentative expression on his handsome face. His bright green eyes sparkled with a hint of something too, and he attempted a smile.
“Can I get you a coffee or something?”
The last time he got me an or something, there was a frog in the cup. I’d gone to the mall and saw him there with his friends. I thought he was being nice when he brought me a tall Starbucks cup. It shook as I took it, and when I took off the lid, a disgusting frog jumped out. Actually, I think it could have been a toad.
   “No, thank you.”
He sat next to me, and I looked at him out the corners of my eyes, then fully. I needed to say thanks. It didn’t matter what happened between us as kids. I needed to tell him how grateful I was. Especially since he didn’t have to be here. “Thank you, for doing this for her. I wouldn’t know what I’d do if you hadn’t offered to help.”
A slow, easy smile crept across his sensual lips. “You’re welcome.”
“I’ll pay you back.” Of course, I would. That was a lot of money to give, and it was a lot of money to part with.
The smile widened on his face. “No, you won’t.”
“Yes, of course I will. I have every intention of doing so.”
He chuckled. “I don’t mean I think you won’t pay it. I mean I won’t accept any repayment.”
I gazed at him long and hard. “I wouldn’t feel comfortable taking so much from you.”
“Don’t take this the wrong way, but this isn’t about you, sweetheart.”
Sweetheart. Wow, that was an endearment I never thought I’d hear from him. Not when I was being called Big Bertha when I’d gained a bit of weight in my early teens, Metal Mouth when I had to wear retainers for a few years, Dotto- dot when I had so many zits on my forehead it did look like a game of connect the dots, and then there was The Ugly Duckling. That one had hurt me the most. I wasn’t ugly, not by a long shot, but he’d taken to calling me that after Mom cut my hair way too short after a relaxer went wrong. My hair had looked like duck feathers. It took forever to grow back.

Secrets that were meant to be hidden jump out of the closet in this hot, sexy, enemies to lovers romance. From USA Today Bestselling Author Khardine Gray writing as Bella Fontaine…

There are two things in this world that I’m certain of:
1.Money doesn’t grow on trees.
2.Caine Donoghue is the devil. He’s the kind of guy who’s sexy, knows it, and uses his charm to fool you. It doesn’t help that he’s an Ex-Navy man with all that hard muscle and a body built like a god. He’s the devil.

It sounds harsh, but it’s true. I should know because I practically grew up with him. I had to endure many summers of his evil. So I should know.

However, the day came when the man decided to go and shock me.

It only took a fifteen-year absence in each other’s lives, but…one major act of kindness that saved the person I loved most dissolved the barrier I placed up to keep him out.

I never saw it coming.
Me, trapped in the charm he oozed. Me, trapped in the temptation that lured me to him just from his sinful sexy smile. Me, getting lost in a man I thought was my worse nightmare.

Caine Donoghue sucked me into a sizzling hot, whirlwind romance that was so scorching it would make hell feel like the artic.
He unlocked something inside me.
But…us being together unlocked something else.
We unlocked secrets from the past that should have stayed hidden. Secrets that tangle the past with the present, and will affect the future.

Secrets that could destroy us.

It’s only a matter of time.
Then it won’t matter what I think …

Blog Tour & Giveaway: The (Half) Truth by Leddy Harper!

Publication date: 19th February 2019
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 4 stars
Synopsis: Tatum Alexander is so close to realizing her dream of becoming a sous chef she can taste it, but working at her ex-fiancé’s restaurant with his new girlfriend was never in her career plan. To save face and prove she’s moved on, Tatum cooks up a lie that she’s in a relationship with her best friend’s superhot cousin. There’s just one problem: Jason only recently moved to town, and he has no idea they’re already “dating.”

Jason’s a recovering ladies’ man who shouldn’t be on the menu, but that doesn’t mean he’s immune to Tatum’s quirky charm. Giving her lie a kernel of truth, they decide some no-strings-attached fun between the sheets can’t hurt. But as Tatum’s forced to keep making up stories to cover her original fib, she has a hard time separating what’s real and what’s fake—including her feelings for Jason.

With too many tales spun, Tatum can only watch in horror as her collection of yarns begins to unravel, leaving everyone she cares about feeling betrayed. After so many lies, will it be too late to set the record straight? And more importantly, will she be able to convince Jason there’s truth in their love?

I have a few of this author's books on my Kindle, but this is my first read from her! I'm not sure why I haven't read any of the book that are already on my Kindle lol, but I was sent an email from Montlake Romance and this book was in it, so I decided to give it a read! After reading, I can say that I loved the sound of the synopsis and it was definitely something I would read, but after reading, this book actually fell a bit flat for me! I just felt like nothing big happened to really fuel the plot and make it more interesting and this meant that it stayed on one level! It did start to have a few bigger scenes, but these didn't come in until nearer the end! Overall, I did like the plot and the writing was brilliant! I loved the romance aspect as well and it allowed a few seriously hot scenes between the two main characters, which were pretty hot! The characters were also amazing and did make the book better! Tatum was the main female character, and in this book she was dealing with a messy breakup and wasn't really sure what to do next! She also had to work with her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend, which must have been hard for Tatum! I did feel for Tatum in this book because she did tell a little white lie, which then turned into a big lie and she was then stuck! This did have a big impact on Tatum and she was sorry for what she did! Jason was the main male character and love interest of Tatum! Jason had also been through a messy breakup in this book and he was now in a new place with a new job and life! I loved Jason in this book! He was funny at times and I loved the way he was with Tatum! He made her squirm, which was funny, and it was easy to see how much he cared about her! Jason also felt betrayed by Tatum when it came to her secret, which I could understand, but he did learn a lot about himself in this book! I loved that this book was written from both characters point of views! I was hoping that it was going to be before I started reading, but then I wasn't sure after I read the synopsis! I'm really happy that it was written from both Tatum and Jason's point of views because it allowed for more things to happen in the plot and it helped me connect and understand both characters more! I can also completely understand why this book is a standalone! I would love to read more on Tatum and Jason, but everything was wrapped up and all the questions raised were answered! The ending was also left at the perfect place for Tatum and Jason and summed up their relationship! I now can't wait to check out this author's other books and give them a read! She's released quite a few books and they all sound like my kind of read, so I can't wait to check them out soon! I also love the cover for this book a lot! It matches the feel of the book and it would definitely draw me to the book if I didn't already know the author's name! The cover image also suits the relationship between Tatum and Jason! Big thank you to Leddy, Montlake Romance and Netgalley for an ARC of The (Half) Truth!

Cover Reveal & Giveaway: I'll Be Seeing You by Beth Rinyu!

My mother once said that angels come in many forms: people, animals, insects, flowers or even objects. Some stay with us for just a short time, helping us through difficult times, others stay forever, deep inside our soul, carrying us from one moment to the next. I always wanted to believe it was true, that maybe in a world where there was so much bad, there was still hope for some good. As I grew older and the innocence of childhood waned and tainted my views on life, I was finding that perhaps it was just my mother’s way of feeding my young imagination. That all changed the day I met him.

You know that feeling you get deep inside your gut? The one that tells you something is dangerous, or something is meant to be. The one that sees the bad or good in a person before they even utter a single syllable to you. The one that rattles your very soul, making you question your own sanity because you know you must be completely mad for having such an intense connection to someone you’ve just met. That’s the feeling I had when I first saw him. It was so much more than his good looks, his charming personality and his caring ways. It was something unexplainable and unimaginable.

The first time we met, I felt it, and I was pretty certain he did to. Familiar strangers searching for someone, or something deep inside the other. Maybe I was losing my mind or maybe I was just caught up in a daydream of how I wished my life could be. But from the first moment, I had gotten caught up in his gaze, I knew I had stared into those deep-blue eyes once before…maybe not in this lifetime, but perhaps a lifetime before.

Ever since I can remember, I have always enjoyed Creative Writing. There was always something about being able to travel to a different place or become a different person with just the stroke of a pen - or in today's world a touch of the keyboard. I love creating deep characters who you will love or love to hate.

My life is not as interesting as my books or the characters in them, but then again whose life is? My happy place is a seat by the ocean with my feet in the sand or on the busy streets of New York City. You will more than likely find one of these places as the setting for most of my books.
