Book Blitz & Giveaway: Bratva Darling [The Ivankov Brotherhood 01] by Sabine Barclay!

Excerpt!

“Those four guys are coming over here. That biggest one hasn’t stopped staring at you. He looks like he’s going to eat you for dinner.”
“Too bad he’ll stay hungry. Michelle, I told you. I’m not interested in f*cking some random guy.”
“Hook up doesn’t mean you have to have sex.” This woman’s second friend doesn’t look anywhere near as impressed as her first friend does. The woman, Michelle, is checking out all four of us. I hear Bogdan scoff, and I know he’s staking a claim already.
“Hello, ladies.” I practically purr, but the target of my attention stiffens. She’d been leaning on an elbow against the table, but she sits up straight. She twists in her seat, and we both jerk back. She grips the table to keep from falling off her stool.
   “Ms. Doyle.”
   “Mr. Kutsenko.”
We speak at the same time. I watch her glance at my brothers, but Bogdan is sidling up to Michelle. And I can see Niko and Aleks are already having no success with Laura’s other friend. She says something about preferring tacos to sausages.
“Ms. Doyle, I can’t say that I expected it to be you when I walked over.”
“Mr. Kutsenko, I definitely didn’t think it was you when my friend said there was a man rudely staring at us.”
“Prickly.” The back of my fingers glide along the outside of her forearm as I put my drink on the table. It’s the smoothest skin I’ve ever felt. “Or maybe not. And it’s Maksim.”
Laura doesn’t know what to make of me. I can see she’s battling between continuing to keep her uptight persona and whether she wants to consider herself off the clock. I glance down at her glass.
“Can I get you another of whatever you’re drinking?” I offer a conciliatory smile, but it makes Laura frown. I don’t have to walk to the bar. I merely catch a waitress’s eye, and she hurries over.
“What can I get you, Mr. Kutsenko?”
I look at Laura. She glances at me then looks at the waitress. “Whiskey sour, please.”
   “Vodka for you, Mr. Kutsenko?”
“Yes. On ice.” Laura and I watch the waitress walk away.
“Not on a first-name basis with all the waitresses?”
“Do you call the man who signs your paycheck by his first name?”
“It’s a woman. You own this club.” It’s a statement, not a question.
“My brothers and I.” I can’t believe I don’t know what to say next. I notice the small gift bag on the table. “Celebrating something?”

“It’s Michelle’s birthday tomorrow.”
Laura’s friend looks over at us.
Bogdan grins. “Sounds like a night for champagne.”
Laura watches my brother and her friend, and I’m certain she can perceive the things their body language doesn’t say. I’d noticed she was observant during our meeting, but she seems to read people better than almost anyone I know. When the waitress returns with the drinks Laura and I ordered, Bogdan orders a bottle of champagne.
“I’d say it’s a funny coincidence that my friends and I ended up in one of your nightclubs, but I suspect you own most of the best ones in Manhattan.”
   “We do.”
“Then we’ve done business before. My friends and I have invested a small fortune over the past few years.” Her grin is infectious. Her eyebrows shoot up when I return her smile. “You can smile. I figured that brooding and intimidating is all you can do.”
“From the way Dmitry bitched on the way back to the office, I’d call you intimidating, too.”
“I didn’t think he found me intimidating. I mean how could I be with a stick up my *ss?” Her voice is like saccharine, but I can see the glint of humor in her eyes. She leans toward me. “Can I tell you a secret? Only if you promise not to tell your lawyer?”
“Of course.” I can only imagine what she’s going to say.

I wasn’t prepared for her…
She just got me to pay three times as much as I wanted for a company I’ll buy and destroy.

She knows who I am. The bratva doesn’t scare her.

Intelligent, brave, and unstoppable.

I’ll make her mine.

She doesn’t know it yet, but we’re soulmates.

I’ll take her to her limits. Then give her all her heart desires.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Rogue [Talisman 06] Tam DeRudder Jackson!

Excerpt!

The sweat on his back began to cool, so he rolled over, taking Delaney with him. She drew lazy circles over his chest then sat up when her searching foot discovered his jeans around his knees. “I guess I should be flattered, huh?” Her laughter ended abruptly when her eyes strayed to his boots. “Seriously, Irish? This is a brand new duvet and you’re trashing it.”
He chuckled. “That sounded suspiciously like something a girlfriend—or a bonded talisman—would say. Like maybe you think we’re sharing things.”
“Don’t get ahead of yourself,” she huffed. “I didn’t see a washer or dryer in here, and I’d rather not sleep under dirty covers.”
With a gentle tug, he coaxed her back down beside him. “I didn’t leave a mess. Promise.”
He couldn’t help the grin that spread across his lips at the way she glared up at him from beneath her brows. “But as I recall from my training, warriors and talismans are supposed to share.”
Beneath his fingertips where he smoothed them down and up her arm, she tensed. “We have several things to work out before we have a conversation about sharing.”
His head flopped back on the mattress, and he stared up at the ceiling. Until he figured out which way his patroness wanted him to jump, Delaney wasn’t going to trust him. And he wanted her to trust him, needed her to trust him. How the hell had she sneaked so far under his skin so fast? Yet if Anu demanded he manifest as a rogue, he had no doubt Delaney would abandon him. Her sense of honor and the guilt she shared with her family over her uncle’s choices would leave her no option. He hugged her closer. No matter what, he was committed to this woman. He wasn’t going to lose her.

Baz Cormac never intended to be a rogue, but fate had other ideas.

Being forced to pledge loyalty to the evil Morrigan is its own kind of hell. So when Baz discovers the lie she’s used to keep him and his band of rogues under her power, he concocts a plan to force the goddess’s hand, which drops him in the center of a cosmic tug-o-war. No matter which way he leans, someone is going to lose—and it looks like that someone may be Baz.

A talisman fights her fate…and her fatal attraction.

Delaney Ferrell has spent her life trying to live down her uncle’s choice to turn rogue. As a warrior-talisman hybrid, she’d done her best to serve the warrior community as a protector. But a cryptic letter sends her to an abandoned home where she encounters a lone rogue with fighting skills no rogue should possess. Instead of killing her, he kidnaps her and takes her to his lair. He presents a terrible danger to the community, one she must neutralize.

So why does he have to be so damn charming?

Discovering Delaney is his fated mate throws all of Baz’s plans into chaos. And when the goddesses come calling, Baz has to choose between a rogue’s freedom and a talisman’s love.

Will they have a chance at love, or will they be torn apart?

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Maddie Bloom & the Fae Academy by Emily Jenkins!

Excerpt!

When I heard the door open, I shot to my feet, grabbing a fancy gold candleholder from the desk. I planned to use it as a weapon—really, I did—but then my fingertips started burning. And I’m not just talking about a little pulse of pain. No, this was like I’d just grabbed the candleholder from the fiery pits of hell. I screamed, dropped my makeshift weapon, and clutched my hand.
The pain lasted for another five agonizing seconds, and then it…
   It was just gone.
Like it was never even there.
I didn’t have time to react to that. Didn’t even have time to let my brain process what had just happened because I heard a noisy breath. Gazing up from my hand, I wilted when I saw the blond woman standing on the other side of the room with three new people.
“Did you really plan to use that?” she asked incredulously. “On me?”
   “I…” Yes. Yes, I did.

Welcome to Fae Academy, where if the Sluagh Sidhe lurking in the woods doesn’t get you, the homework just might…

Maddie Bloom is dreading sophomore year. Not only is her mom’s mysterious illness getting worse, but it’s also a brand-new year of her longtime bully to look forward to. Because who doesn’t love getting swirlies in the newly renovated girls’ bathroom? But then the accident happens. The one where she’s escaping said bully and accidentally summons a magical portal that drops her right into the foyer of a literal castle.

That’s when the big reveals start…
1. Faeries exist.
2. Maddie is half-fae. Which is how she ended up in Figstern’s Academy for Excellence, aka Fae Academy.
3. And Maddie’s uncontrolled magic? It’s slowly poisoning her mom.

When she’s given the chance to stay and learn to control her gifts to save her mom, the choice is clear. But Maddie’s not exactly welcome at Fae Academy. Bullies exist even in the magical world, and don’t get her started on the vindictive hobgoblin or the disgraced prince of the Autumn Court.

Still, not all is what it seems at Fae Academy. And the more Maddie digs, the more secrets she uncovers. Secrets that could threaten her life, her mother’s life, and the future of the fae world itself.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: When It Falls Apart [The D'Angelos 01] by Catherine Bybee!

Excerpt!

“Oh my God, Carmen. He was standing at his car first thing this morning. Like ‘hop in, bella, let’s get stuff done today.’ Who does that?”
Brooke had picked up the phone as soon as Luca was off in search of a dump guy.
“We’re talking about the single, hot, Italian dad, right?”
Brooke rolled her eyes. “Yes. Luca.”
   “Oy, oy, oy.”
“Stop it. I need advice. And I need it before he gets back.”
Carmen stopped teasing. “You don’t need advice. You need to relax. He sounds like one of the good ones. Let it happen.”
“Let it happen,” she mocked. “I don’t ‘let’ things happen. It happens to me and it’s never good.”
“You didn’t used to be such a pessimist.”
“Once upon a time the glass was half full. Not these days.”
“Okay, Debbie Downer. You want my advice . . . here it is. Keep doing whatever it is you’re doing.”
“I’m not doing anything. Zero effort.”
   “Really?” Carmen didn’t sound convinced. “Makeup . . . a nice dress?”
Brooke hesitated. “Maybe . . . a little last night, but that was it.”
   Carmen chuckled.
   “Carmen!”
“Sorry. Okay . . . any red flags?”
Brooke thought about that. “He loved his ex-wife.”
   “That’s a red flag?”
   “I guess not.”
“Is he good to his mom?”
Brooke looked back on the dinner the night before. “To the whole family. He takes being the oldest brother quite seriously.”
   “And his daughter?”
All Brooke could do was smile. “Great dad. We should all be so lucky.”
   “He’s Italian, does he smoke?”
   “No.”
“A lot of Italians smoke,” Carmen pointed out.
“In Italy. The San Diego variety are less in that wheelhouse.”
“That’s good.” Carmen sighed. “I don’t know what to tell you, Brooke. How does he kiss?”
“He hasn’t kissed me,” Brooke nearly yelled.
   “Now then . . . we have a problem.”
   “There hasn’t been . . . I don’t even know if—”
“Stop right there. He did not drive your sorry ass all the way to Upland to do grunt work all day if he wasn’t interested in kissing you, bellllaaa. More than that, you want him to.”
Brooke closed her eyes, and even in her own head she couldn’t convince herself that Carmen was wrong.
“Let it happen. You deserve some happiness, Brooke.”
The van with the air conditioning repair guy pulled into the driveway.
   “I gotta go.”
“I want a kissing update the next time we talk,” Carmen teased.
“Love you,” Brooke said with a laugh.
   “Back at ya, boo.”
   She hung up.
Her best friend was such a dork.

Brooke Turner has always had a complicated relationship with her father. But when his health takes a turn for the worse, she drops everything to care for him. He’s her dad, after all, and he needs her. What Brooke doesn’t anticipate is the unraveling of her long-term relationship and a cross-country move to San Diego’s Little Italy.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Weaver by Tish Thawer!

Excerpt!

DARKNESS SURROUNDED ME AS I OPENED MY eyes, its emptiness clinging to me like a second skin. A shiver rattled my bones as my feet hit the cold planks of my cottage’s hardwood floor. Smoothing my nightgown straight, I walked to my altar, ready for my next attempt.
It had been two days since my last dream, and all I could remember was that I didn’t want it to end. I tried to force myself back to sleep—back to him. Dark, sparkling eyes from beneath his hood were all I could remember before being ripped awake without warning. Now I was desperate to get back. There was something about him I needed to learn. Something magical calling to my witch’s soul.
My last batch of skullcap, rosemary, and mugwort sat cold in my mortar. This time, an added pinch of passionflower should stop my mental chatter. I needed to focus if I was going to make this work.
Three times before, I’d seen him shimmering in the distance, watching me from afar. The most recent dream I recalled was like a fairy tale. With glistening castles and lush forests surrounding me, it was full of mythical creatures who let me frolic alongside them without a care in the world. I spotted him standing behind a stone outbuilding, staring and monitoring my every move.
The dream before that took place in a desert where I lived a fabulous life as the close friend of an important sheik. There he’d been huddled behind a spice cart in the market, but I could still feel his eyes upon me.
Regardless of my dream’s location, my watcher was always there. Unfortunately, my last dream had been yanked away, leaving me with a complete void. Something had changed, and I was determined to find out what.

He walked out of my dream, identifying himself only as the Weaver. In a black cloak, with eyes like stars, there was a shimmer to the way he moved. He was beautiful … Ethereal. And I was going to make him mine.

****

Alone for most of her life, Milly is determined to make the man of her dreams a reality. Using her hereditary magic, she sets out on a lifelong quest, entering a world of shadows and secrets. Little does she know, to possess his heart, she’ll have to give away her own … for the only way to love a Dream Weaver is to become his Queen of Nightmares.

****

The choice between love and magic is a dangerous thing.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Everything We Are by Darby Blake & Sienna Ray!

Excerpt!

I never really thought I’d be that person—the one who switches school after a year because they’ve changed their whole career path. It’s not as if the change is because some big scandal went down. There was no sordid affair with a teacher, no cheating on a test, not even the slightest hint of any wrongdoing. The plain fact is, I quickly discovered the major I was studying was not for me. It took a while for realization to set in. I thought my plans were set in stone since ninth grade. Graduate from college with a summa cum laude, become a successful defense attorney defending high-profile cases in the state, get married and have kids. Now my direction has changed, and a high-flying defense attorney has been replaced with a nutritionist and dietician.
There is another reason for this change; one I haven’t admitted to anyone. I feel like I’m stuck. I’m floating around in no man's land with a future I’m not sure I want anymore. The trouble with having a life plan from an early age is the risk of growing out of it. It seemed like a good idea when I was fifteen and obsessed with crime dramas. It’s only when you start hitting the books and going to lecture upon lecture you realize it’s not as glamorous as it seems. I quickly discovered the legal profession is not for me.
So here I am, leaving my hometown of Silver Lake and moving three hours south, where I’ll attend the University of Northport for the next three years. The Health Sciences department at Northport is one of the best in our state, which is the reason I’m transferring there. My career choice may have changed, but my ambitions for graduating summa cum laude remain the same. It helps that my older brother, Jude, goes there. Thankfully, I get to share a house with him and some of his teammates. Jude is on Northport’s ice hockey team, and if he wanted to, he could easily be drafted to the NHL. At the moment, though, he’s set on graduating and “conquering the world,” his words, not mine.

Thea Jenson has her future meticulously planned out. Graduate from college. Get a job. Marry her high school sweetheart and have two beautiful children. When she decides to transfer schools, her brother suggests she move in with him and his unruly hockey roommates. Everything in her life is going according to her plan . . .

. . . until she bumps into Kyler in their kitchen and sparks fly.

Kyler Rose, the starting center for the Northport University hockey team, is done for the moment he lays his eyes on Thea. But he can’t allow her to become a distraction. He’s determined to make it to the NHL. That’s if he doesn’t get booted for failing grades first. And even though he’s on scholarship, it doesn’t pay his bills or provide for his family. Neither do the tips he earns from his bartending gig. When an offer to make some fast cash falls in his lap, he takes it, thinking no one will care if he gets hurt . . .

. . . except Thea does care.

But just as Kyler finds a way to navigate his feelings for Thea, an unexpected link to his family comes to light and he finds himself in the fight of his life to protect those he loves the most – his family.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Tinkering with Love [Rock Falls 01] by Aliyah Burke!

Excerpt!

“Dawson, would you be able to head back into the kitchen and bring out a few more drink options for everyone?” He shifted the load he held. “There should be water and some other non-carbonated drinks in there.”
“Of course, happy to help.” Was she? Not really, but she didn’t mind pitching in. Dawson stood in the kitchen, looking for a tray to pile more bottled waters on and carry them out to the tables.
Locating both the additional drink options and a tray, she took them out to the table with the drink choices, one right beside the ones that had a good amount of food on them. She was on her way back to the kitchen to return the tray when a curse reached her. Dawson hurried and found a man losing his hold on what he carried.
Rushing closer, she reached out to help steady him and tried to assist in balancing the items. He crashed into her and she supported him for about three seconds. Then they went down, hard. Even so, at the last moment, he tried to adjust so he didn’t land fully on her.
Didn’t totally work, because his face was planted directly into her breasts. He had one arm around her back, keeping part of her off the floor. And pressed closer to him.
God, but her ass hurt. Around them, she heard the clattering of the melamine dishes he’d been struggling to retain hold of. Cups rolled by, but she just stared down at the top of the man’s head.
She held the singular item he’d saved, a pitcher, in one hand. Around them, the rest of the things had hit the floor, the reverberations on the cement floor finally coming to a halt. In her peripheral vision, she noticed one bowl shudder as it finished spinning, then settle. The man, getting personally acquainted with her breasts, finally lifted his head, and her breath caught.
The one across from her cabin. Bearded and sexy hot. The man she’d ogled.
   “Hello.”
Holy crap, his voice was sex on a stick. The arm around her flexed and she swallowed.
“Hi,” she managed to force out between suddenly extremely dry lips.
Eyes the color of a wind-tossed sea stared back. “You okay?” He reached for her face and touched her chin.
Big strong hand. Long fingers. Incredible tattoos. A mishmash of designs that flowed seamlessly together. She wouldn’t call it a sleeve by any means but there were a lot. Arm and hand bore them with pride. Some words, some floral, some tribal and all that she would like a closer, much longer, slower perusal of.
“Sure,” she babbled. “Sorry, I think I made it worse trying to help.”
His incredible gaze moved over her face, dipped down to her breasts briefly, before climbing back to meet her eyes. He rose and helped her up, still not releasing her.
Dawson smiled. “Thank you, you know, for not letting me break something.”
His smile was lethal as he ran another look over her. “Legs, I should be thanking you. You took my size and kept me from slamming into the floor. You sure you’re okay?”
He leaned closer, clearly not in any rush to let her go. To be fair, Dawson wasn’t in any rush to move.
   “Legs?”
His warm breath fanned along her face, bringing his scent with it.
“Why are you calling me Legs?”
   “As in yours are killer.”
“You okay, Dawson, I heard a— oh, excuse me.” Maria’s intrusion burst the bubble she’d willingly allowed to surround her.
Dawson placed her hands on his chest, holy moly, how much muscle did one man need, seriously?
“Go away, Maria.” The man flexed his hand that spread along her back.
She harrumphed. “You let Dawson go, Tully.”
Ice slid through her veins. “Tully?” This man? He was the hottie across from her cabin? The one who had taken her job? “Let me go.”
He slowly lowered his arm from around her. Damnit! She didn’t want to think about how much nicer it had been in his arms.

Dawson Shay could never be accused of being a bubbly ray of sunshine. Like, not ever. But her outlook on life has only gotten worse since she moved across the country for her dream job rebuilding motorcycles…only to lose the job to someone else. Now her run of bad luck includes a wilderness retreat with the entire company—including the asshat who stole her job. Fortunately, Tully Faulkner’s bearded, tattooed hotness is pretty much the perfect distraction.

Except, Tully isn’t just Mr. Hometown Hero, he’s also said asshat who stole her job. And if he thinks he can win her over with his ability to charm the pants off everybody else, he’s got another thing coming. But Dawson can’t avoid him forever… or the seriously hot sparks between them. Somewhere between the breathtaking northern lights and teaming up to win their company’s scavenger hunt, Dawson starts to think that Tully’s magic touch might be just what she’s been missing.

But even sexy gearheads have their secrets. And Dawson’s about to discover that falling for the too-perfect-to-be-true Tully might just backfire on her completely…

Release Day Blitz & Giveaway: Imperfect Affections [Beauty in Imperfection Duology 02] by Charmaine Pauls!

He told me I’d lose, but I didn’t want to believe him because there was too much at stake. What he didn’t tell me was that the battlefield is messy and bloody, and that no one walks away without scars.
