Release Day Blitz: Written in the Stars by Jennifer Martinez!

Believers of fate, destiny, whatever, say that there are many paths to your one final destination. No matter what choices you make you will always end up right where you are supposed to be. Well I guess I took the road less traveled because God knows I’m broken, bruised, and damaged.
This is my story. It’s about all the wrong turns that led to the right destination. We were written in the stars from the very beginning and neither of us knew it. Love is something you can’t fight and can’t hide from no matter how bad you want to. This is my cosmic turn of love.

Author Bio:

One day while slaving away at her monotonous day job, Jennifer Martinez found her true calling. Like a firefly in the night, the pages called to her. Once she caught the bug there was no stopping it. Her fingers flew furiously across the keyboard winding tales of love, mystery and anger. She snapped out of her reverie to find herself still behind the desk but at least she knew who she was… Author Jennifer Martinez.

I like to think of myself as a beautiful conundrum. When I am not writing, I can be found surrounded by my amazing family and 4 dogs or volunteering at a local animal rescue. I love who I am and don’t mind at all when I get strange looks from people. I am a tattoo covered, child and animal lover who looks forward to destroying peoples preconceived notions of what “someone like me” would be interested in. You only live life once… you may as well make it interesting.

I love to get lost in a good book and hope that everyone will get lost in mine.

Cover Reveal & Giveaway: Faded [Rock Star Trilogy 02] by Mercy Amare!

I left Hope – the only place I’ve ever felt at home. So now what? Where do I go from here?

When I left, I didn’t just leave my home. I left my friends, my sisters, and Stephan… I just found them. I can’t lose them now.

I know that I want to do MY music. I just need to remember WHY I wanted to play music in the first place. And the only way to get that is by firing my dad, but that may be harder than I thought.

On top of everything, I now have cameras following me around everywhere. Even my own home isn’t safe anymore.

I’ve come to realize that normal will never be an option for me.

Cover Reveal: Until I Break by M. Leighton!

 photo UNTILIBREAK4-8_zps46e186f3.jpg

"I’m intrigued. Tempted beyond what I’ve ever been before. To know her, to open her up. To break her."

In love, sometimes what you fear most is exactly what you need.

Laura Drake is an author. She writes bestselling paranormal romances that continue to top the charts. She is sharp. She is confident. She is in control.

And she doesn’t exist.

Samantha Jansen is the woman behind the wig, the woman most of the world doesn’t know exists. She is shy. She is insecure. She is nothing like her main character or her alter ego. She is scarred—deeply scarred—by a past she can’t let go of and a present she can’t make peace with.

Samantha’s dreams are consumed by one man, the broken hero from her books. Mason Strait is both her wildest fantasy and her most terrifying nightmare.

When Samantha meets Alec Brand, a corporate consultant, it is as though Mason has come to life. Alec is handsome to a fault, as elegant as he is arrogant, and more intense than any man has a right to be.

Samantha is soon sucked into a world that mirrors the fiction she writes. Just like her main character, Daire Kirby, Samantha finds herself unable to resist the forbidden lure of Alec. And just like Daire, she also finds that she is faced with taking a chance on a man who could either set her free or destroy her.

The scale tilts toward destruction when Samantha finds out that Alec is as much a work of fiction as Mason. And he has scars of his own, scars that could ruin them both.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Twisted [Torn 02] by K.A. Robinson!

Publication date: 14th March 2013
Paperback edition: 331 pages
Source: Kindle
Rating: 5 stars
Synopsis: Chloe and Drake have found their happily ever after... Almost.

When Chloe's mother comes back into her life with a bang, it sets off a chain of events no one could have ever expected.
Everyone has their demons, and Chloe and Drake's hit them with a vengence.

Sex, drugs, money, a crazy ex, and Rock n Roll.... Can they survive it all?

Things are beginning to feel a bit... Twisted.

This book was so much better than the first one! As much as I loved the first one I loved this one more! At times this book felt like the first book of a series to me as it had that potential apart from Chloe and Drake already having a relationship but I loved that! I also thought that I knew what was going to happen after the massive ending to Torn so I thought I knew what to expect but what I got was so much more! Twisted really was an amazing book and it completely blew me away! I also loved that you could tell that the author started to feel more comfortable with writing and the characters as Torn was only her first novel! The plot continued straight on from where Torn left off from and I loved it! So much happened in the plot and at times it made my head spin! The plot got quite dark at some scenes and I felt myself feeling more emotion with the characters during their darkest hours! I think that Twisted had the right amount of romance, suspense and plot development to make it phenomenal! The characters were even better in this book than what they were in Torn! I adored all of them! I loved Chloe in this book! I wasn't so sure about her after the impression she left me with in Torn but she really impressed me in this book! My opinion of her completely changed in this book as she was so much easier to connect with! As it was a lot easier for me to connect with her in this book then I enjoyed reading from her point of view more and I also felt like she was a completely different person as she had grown so much! My heart went out to Drake in this book! He went through a lot in this book and it was hard for me to watch him go through it! I really felt for Chloe as well as she was kept in the dark for so long about how bad Drake had gotten! I adored Drake and Chloe as a couple in Torn but I loved them even more as a couple in Twisted as there was a love triangle in this book between Chloe, Drake and Jordan! I was completely Team Drake but at times I did have a teeny, tiny soft spot for Jordan! I loved that Twisted was written from both Chloe and Drake's point of views as this was definitely essential as there was so much going on and at times in the book there was two different stories happening! The ending was beyond amazing! I was sort of expecting the ending but I adored that the author made it absolutely beautiful! I am really sad to let Chloe and Drake go as I loved their relationship but I am really excited to read more from K.A. Robinson as this series is definitely one of my favourites! I also love the cover for Twisted as it really suits the first cover to this series! Big thank you K.A. Robinson and to Shh Mom's Reading for having me on the Blog Tour!

Character Interviews: Vandelya Lynn Tucker & Carter Ian Daniels!

Broken

Interview with Vandelya Lynn Tucker
By: Jamie Loeak

A journey toward discovering two characters.

Jamie Loeak: So, your name is Vandelya. How do you pronounce that?

Vandelya: Van-Dell-Yuh. My mother thought it was pretty and decided that was my name when she first looked at me.

JL: That’s interesting! Do you like having such a unique name?

Vandelya: Most times. I don’t have to look up if my teacher calls out for Ashley or anything.

JL: So, you’re in school. What grade are you in?

Vandelya: I’m a junior in high school.

JL: Do you participate in any extracurricular activities?

Vandelya: No, I focus on just school.

JL: Okay, so what about after school. What kinds of things do you do?

Vandelya: Well, I like to head to a little field before and after school. It’s kind of my place.

JL: I’m assuming it’s important to you. Is there a reason behind it?

Vandelya: I don’t know. It’s just kind of a place that I go to when I feel lonely or something like it.

JL: Do you feel lonely often?

Vandelya: I don’t really want to talk about it right now. Is that fine?

JL: Of course. So, what would you feel more comfortable talking about?

Vandelya: Honestly, I don’t really know.

JL: Well, since we want the audience to know a little about you, why don’t we talk about your family and friends?

Vandelya: Uh, I guess that’s fine. I live with my mom. She works hard to keep things normal for me now that my dad is gone. There was an accident and..... *she trails off*
JL: I understand. Would talking about your friends turn things around?

Vandelya: Not really. I don’t have any friends.

JL: Oh. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make things worse.

Vandelya: It’s okay, but if you don’t mind, I don’t want to answer any more questions.

JL: It’s fine. Thank you for agreeing to the interview.

Vandelya: You’re very welcome.

Interview with Carter Ian Daniels

By: Jamie Loeak

A journey toward discovering two characters.

JL: So, Carter, you recently moved to North Carolina. Why here?

Carter: My mom used to talk about North Carolina when I was a little kid. Back then, she used to read and tell me stories.

JL: What stories made you choose to come here?

Carter: She grew up here, and I thought that coming here would help me find myself. I mean, I’m seventeen and I’ve got to figure out who I am.

JL: And North Carolina’s going to do that for you.

Carter: Yes.

JL: So, what are your goals while you’re here? What steps are you going to take?

Carter: Well, I’m going to enroll in the local high school first. Then, I guess I’ll just make friends. See what kind of person I am.

JL: So, your friends will tell you the kind of person you are?

Carter: No, but who I become when with them does.

JL: You sound like you know this from experience.

Carter: Yes, I do.

JL: Can you tell me about this?

Carter: It’s the reason why I left Hartford. The people I dealt with weren’t good. They weren’t good influences.

JL: I understand. Is that why you left? Your friends?

Carter: They weren’t my friends. I didn’t seek out friends back then.

JL: Then it was your family that you ran from?

Carter: Yes, it was. Now, if you don’t mind, I don’t want to answer any other questions.

JL: You’re fine, and I apologize for bringing out bad memories.

Carter: It’s okay. I did agree to this interview.

JL: Thank you.

Carter: You’re welcome.

Blog Tour: Written in the Stars by Jennifer Martinez!

Excerpt!

Once we were safely in the privacy of what I would later find out was his room, we picked right back up where we left off. Our hands explored every inch of our sticky bodies while our tongues entwined tasting every bit of each other’s mouths. The salty taste of his skin was a far cry from the sweet pungent scent of the room. His fingers slowly made their way to my rib cage leaving trails of heat like scars on my skin. His grip tightened around my chest as he effortlessly lifted me off the ground. When my legs wrapped around his hips I heard a growl escape his throat only forcing me to hold on tighter. Our lips never parted as he lowered us onto his black and blood red sheets. I snaked my hands under his shirt, exploring his stomach and slowly taking his shirt off. I had never really gotten a good look at all his tattoos and I wanted to see every inch of his body. He placed his legs on either side of my hips and sat up slowly taking his shirt off as I kissed and licked all of his exposed skin. Tattoos weren't the only thing covering his body. His stomach and sides were riddled with old scars. I made it a point to kiss each and every one as I let my mouth do the exploring. I glanced up just as his head tilted back euphorically and took the opportunity to remove my own shirt. We were opposites in every way. He was covered in a past that left its mark and tattoos that expressed all his emotions while I was a blank canvas still learning what it meant to think for myself. For the briefest second I saw the hope in Kevin's eyes and then he was pressing his entire, hard body on top of mine. His teeth found a sweet spot on my neck right as my hands found their way to his ass. Every nip made me squeeze him a little harder and I was shocked to find out that I was actually enjoying the pain.
I had enough of the teasing and decided it was time to lose our pants. I pushed him up just enough to unbutton his black jeans. His eyes lit up like a bonfire as he relinquished his position on top of me and rolled over onto his back. I trailed a path down his stomach with a mix of kisses, licks and nips. The farther down I moved the louder his moans and growls became. When my mouth finally caught up with my hands I used my teeth to slowly unzip the skinny jeans that were guarding my prize. The zipper finally stopped and my fingers wrapped around his waistband leaving little red trails where my nails scratched his porcelain skin. Every inch closer to the floor his pants got the tighter his grip on my hair became. By the time they were in their rightful place on the floor I could feel the throbbing sting on my entire scalp.
My eyes surveyed every inch of his naked body as my mouth watered for a taste of the solid, hard cock standing at attention like a flag on July fourth. I gave him one last kiss on the mouth before licking my lips and heading south to my prize. My tongue lightly grazed the head of his magnificent member, causing it to twitch before I moved onto his shaft. Once my tongue was done exploring I opened my mouth to take him all in. His heat in my mouth was intoxicating. The more I sucked the more excited I became. His moans of pleasure and constant hair pulling continued to spur me on. The harder he pulled and the louder he moaned the harder I sucked. I had one hand wrapped around the base of his cock while my mouth sucked, licked and glided across him. He finally lost control and pulled me off of him and onto my back.

Blog Tour: Losing Me, Finding You by C.M. Stunich!

Publication date: 20th April 2013
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 5 stars
Synopsis: Twenty-one year old Amy Cross's idea of a hot Saturday night is curling up with her favorite book boyfriend and secretly sneaking a bottle of her mother's wine. That is, until she meets Austin Sparks, the biker boy with a past that burns like fire and a gaze she can't look away from. Without knowing what she's doing or why she's doing it, Amy ends up on the road with Austin traveling from one city to another while learning things she's only ever read about in romance novels.

At first it seems like Austin is Amy's fantasy come true, but as their journey progresses, she starts to sense that Austin is running away from something. Amy knows that she'll do whatever it takes to help him find himself. What she doesn't expect is that she'll lose herself in the process and how good it will feel to be free.

Favourite quote: "I'm going to fall in love with him. I'm going to be head over heels and my stomach is going to hurt every time he walks into a room. I'm going to worry about him whenever he isn't there, and there are going to be times where I'll hate him. Because that's what love is. It's a kaleidoscope of emotions, all sorts of different colours blending together into one."

This book was hot! I was expecting it to be hot but what I wasn't expecting it to be steaming hot! I may have blushed several times while reading it! This is definitely my favourite book by C.M. Stunich! What I love about C.M. Stunich is that she doesn't care! She puts lots of swearing and hot sex in her books and she really doesn't care! I love that in people! Losing Me, Finding you is one of the sexiest book I think that I have ever read! It was full of sexy bikers, passion and hot sex! I loved the chapter heading in this book as well! I wasn't really expecting them to look so amazing but they were an beautiful addition to the book! The plot confused me at times as it went a little bit fast but apart from that I can't make one complaint about this book! Once I got used to the plot I zoomed through it and I think that I read this book in two sittings! The plot had quite a lot in it and it was written over quite a long period of time! I really enjoyed it! It had plenty of romance and action in it to keep me reading on and to keep me entertained! The characters were amazing! Amy was the main female character! I wasn't really sure about Amy to start with but then as the book progressed I started to connect with her more and be able to see her change into a character that I adored! I loved watching Amy change as she changed from a church girl to a hot biker girl and I could see that she was a lot happier with Austin's gang! Austin was the love interest of Amy and he was hot! He made me swoon every time he came into a scene! I loved how his feelings for Amy developed over the course of the book and it wasn't love at first sight! I also loved how protective he got of Amy as the book progressed as well! I also loved that this book was written from Amy and Austin's point of views as there was so much going on in the story that I felt that it had to be written in different point of views for me to understand it all! I can completely understand why this book is a standalone as all the issues raised in it and all the problems were fully resolved by the end! The cover is so hot! I won't even repeat the words that I said when I got to see it for the cover reveal! Big thank you to C.M. Stunich for a copy of Losing Me, Finding and to Jennifer for having me on the Blog Tour!

Author bio:

C.M. Stunich was raised under a cover of fog in the area known simply as Eureka, CA. A mysterious place, this strange, arboreal land nursed Caitlin's (yes, that's her name!) desire to write strange fiction novels about wicked monsters, magical trains, and Nemean Lions (Google it!). She currently enjoys drag queens, having too many cats, and tribal bellydance.

Always a fan of the indie scene and 'sticking it to the man,' Ms. Stunich decided to take the road less traveled and forgo the traditional publishing route. You can be assured though that she received several rejections as to ensure her proper place in the world of writers before taking up a friend's offer to start a publishing company. Sarian Royal was born, and Ms. Stunich's books slowly transformed from mere baking chocolate to full blown tortes with hand sculpted fondant flowers.

C.M. is a writer obsessed with delivering the very best and scours her mind on a regular basis to select the most unusual stories for the outside world.

What he didn’t know was she was as fragile as they came.

The carefree girl who spoke her mind and didn’t care what the world thought of her was more breakable than he could ever imagine…

Favourite quote: "You are mine. Do you hear me? You are mine, Della Sloane. I will take care of you. Nothing is taking you away from me. Nothing."

To learn that over 150 blogs put in to be on this Blog Tour and that there were only 40 stops leaves me amazed that my blog was picked to participate! It really means a lot! I freaking love Abbi Glines! I have loved all of her books so far and I knew that I was going to love this one! I do have to bring up one thing though! Abbi, can you put me in your books and give me a hot, sexy guy? Please? Pretty please? Okay, enough begging! Twisted Perfection was the perfect addition to a new series! This book was amazing and it also made me fall in love with Woods! I wasn't really a lover of him in the Too Far series but Twisted Perfection has completely changed my opinion of him! I also wasn't really sure when I heard that this book was about Woods because as I said I didn't really like him but I was also intrigued to find out more about him and his background! The plot was so beautiful! It had so much in it but it was perfectly paced and I found myself drawn to it immediately! There were also some amazingly hot scenes in it which I found myself swooning at! The characters were amazing! Woods and Della were both the main characters! My opinion completely changed of Woods in this book! I fell in love with him! Abbi Glines has a way of making me fall in love with all of her male characters and Woods was no exception! In this book I got to see a different side to Woods and I got to see how he is with a different female character! Della was the love interest of Woods and she had been through so much before this book and she was plagued by nightmares because of them! My heart broke for her when I saw what she went through on a daily basis and also what she had been through in her family life! Della was such a strong character and I loved that Twisted Perfection was written from both Woods and Della's point of view as it was definitely essential! Going into Della's head and seeing what she had been through and seeing her emotions was truly heart-breaking! In Woods point of view you get to see how he really feels about his family and how much he cares about Della! I am really looking forward to the next book to Woods and Della's story as Twisted Perfection gives just a glimmer into the beginning of their beautiful relationship! The cover is also stunning! It is what I pictured Woods and Della looking like throughout the book! Big thank you to Abbi for an ARC of Twisted Perfection and to Autumn for having me on the Blog Tour!

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Playing Patience by Tabatha Vargo!

Publication date: 26th April 2013
Paperback edition: 420 pages
Source: Kindle
Rating: 5 stars
Synopsis: Sometimes all you need is Patience.

Life’s been hard for Zeke. Being a punching bag for his alcoholic father has turned him into stone. Not even the dodgy trailer park he lives in can scare him. Fighting is his release and sex, drugs, and his guitar bring him peace, but deep down Zeke isn’t quite as hard as he makes himself out to be. When he meets Patience, she finds all his broken pieces and puts him back together, but she’s a ray of light in his shadowed life and the last thing he wants to do is bring her into his dark world. Playing careless is easy, playing the bad guy can be fun, but playing Patience is impossible, especially when she can see right through him.

Zeke isn’t the only one who’s broken, and for the first time, in a long time, Patience feels alive. Her black and white world gets a shot of color when she meets Zeke. He’s unlike anyone she’s ever met with his tattoos, piercings, and blunt honesty. She wants nothing more than to let go and ride the wild side with him, but some wounds never heal and the broken pieces of Patience aren’t so easy to find.

Favourite quote: "You will never know the depths of me, so don't even try to explore that far. You'll get lost and you won't survive me. Don't pretend to understand my feelings and emotions. Half the time I don't have any anyway, but when it comes to you, they're limitless, which is more dangerous. I don't look at you like you're nothing. I look at you like you're everything, because you are, and I fucking hate it."

I was thrilled when Tabatha asked me if I would like an ARC of Playing Patience and also asked if I would like to be on the Blog Tour! I have been really looking forward to reading Tabatha's books and Playing Patience was my first book by her although I have her other books on my Kindle! This book was a beautiful disaster! It is exactly how I would describe it to someone if they asked me! I knew that I was going to fall in love with the characters, the plot and just everything about it before I even started reading! The plot was beyond amazing! It was really dark but it was about two characters both going through horrible situations at home! Both of these characters help each other so much more then they know! This book really hit me hard! I found it a bit difficult to read at times but it was written beautifully and I loved that Tabatha didn't hold back and that she made the situations like what some people go through everyday! I also loved that the plot had quite a few twists in it that I wasn't expecting so I was pretty surprised! I think that my mouth may have dropped open at some points! The characters blew my mind! They were all written amazingly! Zeke and Patience were both the main characters and Playing Patience was written from both of their point of views! This was definitely essential as both of these characters were going through difficult situations which the reader really needed to know more about and by this book being in dual point of view then I was able to connect more emotionally with both characters! Going into Zeke's head was quite an experience! I adored him as a character! He went through a lot at home and he was still determined to protect Patience and to never let his father get the better of him! I felt so sorry for Zeke for what he did get put through nearly everyday as it must have been so hard for him! My heart went out to Patience the whole way through this book! Nobody should ever have to go through what she did! I was disgusted by the person who took away her confidence, her freedom and her right to love but I loved Zeke for bringing all these things back to her! I saw Patience start to feel comfortable in her own skin again and her confidence started to come back as the book progressed! The rest of the characters were also all written amazingly! I wasn't really excepting the ending to this book! I was pleasantly surprised by it as I though that I knew where the book was going to go but Tabatha took it in a bit of a different direction! The cover is so hot! I wasn't really expecting the book to be so hot but I am so glad it was and it showed me how much the cover suits the book! Big thank you to Tabatha for an ARC of Playing Patience and also for having me on the Blog Tour!

Author bio:

Tabatha's been writing since she could pick up a pencil. Her first publication was a little poem in her elementary school paper, from that point on she was hooked. When she was a teenager, she traded in her girly magazines for personalized writing notebooks.

At nineteen, she met her own personal prince charming and writing took a back burner for a while. She's now married to that prince and the mother of a beautiful seven-year-old princess/rock star. Once her daughter was born, writing came back into her life, and she finished her very first novel, Wicked Fate, in May of 2009.

She's now pursuing her English degree and she hopes to one day teach while continuing to write.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Born in Flames [Born in Flames Trilogy 01] by Candace Knoebel!

Publication date: 6th September 2012
Paperback edition: 259 pages
Source: Kindle
Rating: 5 stars
Synopsis: Red mirrored scales race up my arms as the haze of pain blurs my vision. My bones crack, breaking to realign. I scream. It is then that the realization of my unavoidable fate sinks in; I am of a dying race. I am dragon.

Aurora Megalos, orphaned and teetering on the edge of adulthood, thought finding her past would curb the sting of being an outcast. Having no memories of the time before she awoke on her foster mother’s doorstep, she yearns for the emptiness inside her to be filled. With her fellow orphaned best friend, Fenn, by her side, she has nothing to lose and everything to gain. But something powerful stirred within her that she couldn’t explain. Something wanted out.

In the dark of night, a crazed Seer, dubbed Mr. Creepy, erases everything she’s ever known with an impending prophecy. She now faces two paths. Return to her true home to protect a dying race against a growing evil, or stay hidden in the safety of our realm with a shot at a true love. With a vengeful Arch Enemy stopping at nothing to see her dead, she’s running out of time; a decision must be made. What would you choose?

I loved this book! It was the second book that I have read about with Dragons in it with the first being the Firelight series by Sophie Jordan! When I heard that there were Dragons in this book I really hoped that it was different to the Firelight series as even though I loved the Firelight series I did want this book to stand on its own and have a different approach to dragons and I was so relieved when I discovered very early on that it was completely different to the Firelight series! I did think that this book started quite abruptly which left me a bit confused! I was only confused for a couple of chapters though and then I was able to figure out what was going on and who certain characters were! Born in Flames was also written quite formally and I think that it is few books that I have read that is written like this so I liked that it was different! The plot was very original and it is the first time that I have ever read anything like it! The plot had quite a bit of action and I also really enjoyed the sort of flashback scenes as well as they helped me understand more about the people that Aurora was up against! The character were amazing and written very well! Aurora was the main character of Born in Flames and I really enjoyed her character! She was strong and watching her grow and learn about herself was amazing! Fenn was sort of the love interest of Aurora but their relationship didn't really develop in this book which disappointed me a little bit as I was expecting some romance in this book but I hope in the next book that there are a lot more scenes between the two of them and their relationship develops more! There were quite a lot of other characters in this book as well and each one brought so much to the story! The ending was so sweet! It was completely satisfying and I loved it! I am really looking forward to seeing where the next book in this series goes as so much could happen in it! I also love the cover and I think that it really suits the story! Big thank you to Candace for a copy of Born in Flames!

Author bio:

Candace Knoebel had dreamed of being a dancer ever since she could remember. With a love of all things art, she saw herself moving to New York and pursuing her passion as an artist. But all that changed on October 10th, 2002 when she met the love of her life. Her dreams diverged and after marrying her high school sweetheart and having two beautiful children, she realized she missed her creative side.

Growing up alongside the Harry Potter series, Candace found herself missing the epicosity of a story that pulls you in and won’t let you go. In 2009, she began dreaming up characters that would mold her first novel. Through lunch breaks and late nights, after putting her kids to
bed, she built a world where she could escape the ever-pressing days of an eight to five Purgatory. She found her calling in life and knew this was more than dancing could’ve ever meant to her.

Once complete in 2010, she began the grueling process of finding a publisher. With relentless determination, she was finally able to realize her dream in December of 2011 when 48fourteen offered her a
publishing contract. With a HUGE yes and a happy dance, she now continues her Trilogy.

He smiles a bit wider and hands out the pin.
As, I reach to pluck it from his palm, he snatches my wrist with one hand, my bicep with the other and crushes me against his chest.
His grip is tight—too tight, it hurts—and the bend of him hovers over me, leaning in. I try to shake him off, but he doesn’t let go. I squirm as I feel his thumb trace circles on the inside of my wrist. The touch sends a skitter of sensation over me. Something tinges the air; a sweet, cool feeling brushes over my skin, making my knees want to buckle. He smells like mint, his breath tickles my face. I pull back, hating the sensations that please my skin and curdle my insides. Bile surges in my throat. I tear myself away from him, glaring.
“What?” He says coolly as if he hadn’t just bruised my arms with his clutching fingertips.
“That. Hurt.” I say. I don’t say he smells sweet or his breath is refreshing on my skin or his touch sends chills up my spine, delicious chills. I step away.
His smile is unnerving. “Don’t worry, Jade.” He winks at me. Damn that wink of his. “One day, you’ll like it.”
