Blog Tour & Giveaway: Wide Awake by Shelly Crane!

Publication date: 23rd March 2013
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 5 stars
Synopsis: A girl.
A coma.
A life she can't remember.

When Emma Walker wakes up in the hospital with no knowledge of how she got there, she learns that she's been in a coma for six months. Strangers show up and claim to be her parents, but she can't remember them. She can't remember anyone. Not her friends, not even her boyfriend. Even though she can't remember, everyone wants her to just pick up where she left off, but what she learns about the 'old her' makes her start to wish she'd never woken up. Her boyfriend breaks up with the new girl he's dating to be with her, her parents want her to start planning for college, her friends want their leader back, and her physical therapist with the hazel eyes keeps his distance to save his position at the hospital.

Will she ever feel like she recognizes the girl in the mirror?

Favourite quote:
"I sank.
I drowned.
I gave in.
And I was wide awake."

Shelly Crane has been an author who's books I have enjoyed reading for years now and I eagerly anticipate her next release so when I found out that Wide Awake was coming out next I was so excited! I had been waiting on this book for ages and then when it got pushed back to March I was a little bit disappointed but I knew that Shelly was going through a lot and I also knew that I would get over my agonizing wait as soon as I opened the first page and it's Shelly Crane! Nobody can be disappointed at her! I loved this book! I knew that I was going to read it as I have read the authors other series' and love them so I was really looking forward to this one! Wide Awake focuses on a girl who has to adjust to a life that she doesn't feel comfortable in after a hit-and-run accident! I really enjoyed the plot! I have read some other books that focus on a character that has lost her memory and actually not really enjoyed them but I loved Wide Awake! The plot also focused on not only one character, but two characters learning how to live, love and let go! The plot was beautiful! It flowed perfectly! The characters were also amazing! Emma was the main character and I adored her! I loved that we got to see glimpses of what she was like before her accident and then see how she had changed from then! After her accident she was a better person and she was far more mature than what she was like before her accident! Mason was the love interest of Emma and he was so cute! I loved him instantly! I loved how protective he was of Emma even though he never knew if she was going to wake up and how much he cared for her and he was there for her during the entire course of this book! Emma and Mason as a couple were one of the sweetest! Their relationship blossomed instantly and I normally don't really like when relationships do that but with this book I loved it as Mason and Emma deserved to fall in love as separately and together they had been through so much! The ending was huge! It was the part of the book that you were either waiting for or you knew was going to happen! I was sort of expecting it but there were still scenes in there that I wasn't expecting! I would love another book to Emma and Mason's relationship as I loved them as a couple and I loved the plot of this book! I also love the cover and I knew instantly that I wanted to read the story behind it! Big thank you to Shelly for a copy of Wide Awake and to I Read Indie for having me on the Blog Tour!
