Book Blitz & Giveaway: In a New York Minute by Felice Stevens!

Excerpt!

“Brownie? Apple pie with ice cream? Or cheesecake?” He fluttered his lashes, and Garrett rolled his eyes.
“You don’t give up, do you?”
“Not when I want something.” He winked and handed the menu to Brayson. “We’ll do the strawberry cheesecake and apple pie with vanilla ice cream.”
“Sure thing. Be right back with everything.”
The tea and cappuccino came, followed a minute later by the cheesecake and pie. Jeremiah fed him, their eyes never breaking contact, and those same flutters in his stomach returned.
They tussled over the bill, with Garrett ultimately losing but insisting on paying the tip. Outside, Jeremiah called for a car.
“Seems stupid for both of us to go to Brooklyn in separate cars. We should share.”
Nerves rippled through him. Was he being foolish allowing himself to share a car with Jeremiah? While part of him relished the additional alone time, another froze at the magnitude of the step. Would Jeremiah pressure him and take him somewhere else? Would he want to come upstairs under the pretense of using the bathroom and… Oh, for God’s sake. He’d been watching too many crime shows. Of course it was a good idea. They’d been on a few dates, and Jeremiah had never pressed him for more than he was willing to give. They’d spoken only an hour earlier about how they were going to get to know one another on a deeper level, and more alone time would only help that.
   “Sure. Makes sense.”
As they bounced along the FDR Drive, Jeremiah put an arm around him, and Garrett settled into his chest. “I had a very nice time tonight.” He should ask Jeremiah out this time.
“Me too,” Jeremiah murmured into his ear. “Can I see you Friday night? Are you busy?”
“I was about to ask you the same. No, I’m not busy, and I’d like that.”
“Great. We can do dinner and decide what else afterward.”
   “Sounds like a plan.”
Jeremiah’s hand tipped his chin so they faced each other. “My plan is to kiss you again, if that’s all right with you.”
   “Another good idea.”
Their lips met, and Garrett eagerly welcomed the increasingly familiar taste of Jeremiah. His kisses captivated, the perfect mix of fire and sweet, and he didn’t know whether to be annoyed by the restraint of the seat belts or grateful for them, as he probably would’ve made a liar of himself about taking it slow and climbed the man.

Garrett Steiner loves his grandmother.

Really.

But when she rents a billboard in the middle of Times Square, hoping to find him a husband, he isn’t so sure anymore. Bad enough everyone at the “Crossroads of the World” thinks he’s a joke—now his face is plastered all over the news. He’s already in enough trouble with the principal of his school, who isn’t thrilled to have a gay teacher. It might be two dateless years since his divorce, but no way is he going to answer any of the thousand emails he’s received.

Except….maybe one. The long-haired man with the soulful eyes.

After the devastating loss of his husband, rock star Remi Angel has hit rock bottom. His career is in shambles and he’s spiraling. Fast.
With the media ready for the next juicy scandal, he leaves the limelight behind to return to his roots and spend time with his beloved grandfather. Seeing Garrett’s billboard ad, Remi sends him an email, figuring nothing will come of it, but hey. At least he’s trying.

Except Garrett does answer, and when they meet, both feel that special spark. It’s terrifying yet wondrous, a combination of desire and hope mixed with fear.

The fear of loving again.
Of coming alive again.
This wasn’t supposed to happen.

But anything can happen in a New York minute…even love.

Release Day Blitz: Prey Tell [Ravaged Castle 01] by Amanda Richardson!

They say monsters are made, not born.
He was both…

Chase
As the second youngest Ravage brother, I’ve spent my entire adult life rectifying our tainted family name and keeping my urges behind closed doors.
Until my best friend’s little sister shows up at The Hunt ready to play, and I lose control.
I tell myself it’s just a taste.
Except, with her, I should’ve known a single taste wouldn’t be enough.
And then the good girl I’ve known most of my life drops to her knees.
For me.
From that moment on, I knew she would only ever be one thing.
Mine.

Juliet
Presenting my brother’s best friend with a pros/cons list of why he should take my virginity seemed like a good idea at the time.
I thrive on information, data, and lists, and it made sense on paper.
Until he rejected me and walked out of my life.
Now, eight years later, my life is beginning to fall apart despite my careful planning.
Tempted with an invite to Ravage Castle, I show up seeking answers to questions I’m not sure I can handle.
Except, a furious Chase finds me talking to another man.
Under his gilded, arched roof.
I soon learn that despite his controlled exterior, Chase seems to have one weakness.
Me.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Drink Wine and Be Beautiful by Kimberly Sullivan!

Balinese Traditions

Ubud

THE WARM AIR OF THE TERMINAL hit Giovanna’s face as she exited the plane. Walking toward the baggage collection, she saw her reflection in the mirror. Her lean frame, long, dark hair and olive skin contrasted with Pietro’s robust build, blond hair, and rosy skin. The juxtaposition caused her to smile.
   They didn’t belong together.
That’s what every confused stranger’s glance telegraphed to her before asking if the boy was her son. Some simply assumed she was the nanny, telling her how adorable her charge was.
Back when Jake was beside her, no one asked those questions.
Pietro’s tiny hand clutched hers anxiously. His body pressed close to her leg as she made her way to the visa counter. These past months, he never let Giovanna out of his sight, even to go to the bathroom. He crawled into her bed night after night. Exhausted as she was, she never had the energy–or the heart, really–to insist he return to his own room. She couldn’t bear to add to the young boy’s suffering.
“Two visas, please,” she said to the uniformed woman behind the counter. “I don’t have any rupiah. Do you take euro?”
   “Yes. Forty euro.”
Giovanna took the visas the woman handed her in exchange for the bills, then made her way to passport control, followed by a long wait at the baggage carousel. As they waited, Pietro’s eyes grew larger and increasingly worried. His lips trembled; tears threatened to burst from his eyes.
“Oh, amore. It’s been a long flight. You must be exhausted.” She knelt down and stroked his cheek. “As soon as we collect our bags, we’ll find the taxi outside waiting to bring us back to the hotel. You’ll feel better after a good night’s sleep.”
“I want our own house, mamma. Not a hotel. Why are we here?”
Why are we here, indeed? Hadn’t she asked herself the very same question, at least a million times? If her own doubts weren’t enough, there were those of her parents and her sister, her colleagues, her neighbors. No one could understand it. Not even Pietro.
She looked deep into those clear, blue eyes, with their flecks of white around the pupils. Jake’s eyes. She sighed deeply. “It’s where we’re meant to be, tesoro.” She forced a smile. “You’ll love it. I promise.”
A few minutes later, dragging two suitcases behind her and managing long strides despite Pietro clinging to her, she emerged from the humid terminal into the sweltering day. Hundreds of Indonesian faces stood before her, each with a placard bearing a name. Panic welled up inside of her. She looked frantically around the solid wall of unfamiliar name cards, seeking out her own as the pressure on her leg grew tighter. When she glanced down, she saw the tears streaming unchecked down Pietro’s soft cheeks.
“Okay, we came. Now can we go home, mamma?”

WOMEN WASHED CLOTHES in roadside streams. Bare-breasted women worked beside men in the rice paddies, flocks of ducks waddling or swimming around them. Wood carvers worked at makeshift workshops along the road’s edge. Women carried enormous baskets balanced precariously on their heads. Young children rode astride scooters that zipped dangerously between the cars. Giovanna screwed up her eyes each time one of the young boys attempted a dangerous swerve around moving vehicles.
She turned from the window to Pietro’s body extended across her lap. Exhausted from the jetlag and his tears, Pietro had fallen asleep just outside the Denpasar city limits. She stroked his blond locks absently.
What on earth was she doing? Giovanna had made so many questionable decisions in the past months, but on this trip, she had held firm. Jake had wanted this, and therefore, so did she. She screwed up her eyes as they barely passed a scooter driver before swerving back in—the driver no more than a day over nine years old.

Italian Tales of love, betrayal, longing, desire – and hope

Italy serves as the backdrop for stories of Italian women and expatriate women living in Italy.

A freak snowstorm in Rome changes the travel plans of two women, touching their lives in ways they could never have imagined. An ambitious Italian professional working in Brussels rails inwardly at her privileged boss, until fate presents her with a rare opportunity. A long desired trip to Bali, Indonesia serves as a needed chance for introspection. A cautious housewife in Rome thinks back to a fateful missed connection in Florence. A first-time mother feels debilitating guilt for not bonding with her newborn, until an elderly neighbor provides her with a new perspective.

The twenty-one stories in this collection follow women’s lives as they confront betrayal and love, alienation and community, despair and-ultimately-hope.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Curses and Chaos [Arcane Souls World: The Lost Witch 01] by Annie Anderson!

Excerpt!

“Theo, is it?” her father asked like he didn’t know my fucking name. “Why don’t we let my daughter cool off a little bit?”
I plucked that hand off my shoulder, not giving in to the urge to crush it. “I’m afraid I can’t do that. Fiona is to stay in my sight at all times, and I’m falling down on the job. If you’ll excuse me.”
Look at me being all sensible and shit.
Fiona had said I couldn’t kill him, but the energy coming off the very walls of this place told me the reason why. I highly doubted I could harm Josiah Jacobs in this house.
   Pity.
He sidestepped me, getting right in my way as a throng of cronies backed him up. But what Josiah didn’t know was that none of these men were particularly loyal to him. Each one would betray him for enough money, enough power, or if they thought someone bigger or better could be in charge. They didn’t give a shit about their coven leader, and based on their low-level power, I highly doubted they could give me so much as a paper cut.
Meeting Josiah’s gaze, I gave him a snide smile as I leaned in, taking his scent into my nose, making sure it was imprinted on my brain.
“They won’t back you up against me or against my pack. Somehow, I think you know this,” I murmured, my threat calm as could be. “Not one of them are loyal to you—have never been. Each one would turn their back on you in a heartbeat. So if you want to dance, I’m game. Just know that when I put you on your ass, they’re going to find a new master to serve.”
Pulling back, I allowed my wolf to shine out of my eyes. “Now, can I get back to protecting your daughter, or will I have to teach you a lesson?”

If the ABI finds me, I’m dead.

Agent or not, when your dad is the head of the most notorious arcane crime family in the country, no one believes you when you say you didn’t open that gate to Hell on purpose.

Now, I’m practically glued under enough null wards to hide a god and stuck with a stupidly sexy shifter of a jailer who hates my guts.

When my former employer comes sniffing around, not only does my captor keep me alive, but we find out that our pasts are far more connected than either of us realize.

And the lies we’ve been told could kill us both.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: The Keeper [Royals and Legends 01] by Lynn Montagano!

Excerpt!

“You should get back to the hotel before they find out you’re not in the room.”
“It’s the middle of the night,” he flicked his wrist dismissively. “Nobody’s checking.” An intense stare focused on me. “I’m not leaving you alone right now.”
The last time he said similar words to me I told him I’d only slept with him to distract myself and we were nothing. From the way he kept his eyes glued to me I could tell he was thinking the same thing.
“Okay,” I said. “But promise me you won’t get in trouble.”
“You’re worth it,” he declared, gently stroking my cheek. “Bedroom?”
I nodded, standing up. There’s no reason to fight this anymore. Our lives are forever entwined thanks to one fateful summer when we were both teenagers, blissfully unaware of the other’s existence. And now here we are, pressed together in a gentle embrace on my bed.
He played with my hair as I slid my hand under his t-shirt to caress his skin. My earlier fantasy of us as a couple came roaring back.
I didn’t stop it. I liked how it made me feel. I liked how he made me feel.
   “Thank you,” I said.
   “For what?”
“This. Being here. I didn’t realize how much I needed it.”
He held me tighter. I curled into him, tangling my legs with his. He threaded his fingers through my hair, gently massaging my scalp.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t with you today.” A soft kiss lingered on my forehead.
   “You don’t have to apologize.”
“I do. My first priority is you. I promise I won’t make that mistake again.”
“Don’t make promises you can’t keep.” I nuzzled into his chest. “Especially during the season. If your schedule is anything like—”
   “Victoria.”
   I sighed. “Yes?”
“My first priority is you,” he repeated.
Propping myself up, I leaned on an elbow and admired his handsome, exhausted face. In the dim light, he appeared vulnerable.
Quiet anticipation filled what little space existed between us. I traced the curves of his lips and the slope of his nose, the sturdy angle of his jaw and the strong column of his neck. His eyes never left mine as I continued touching him, memorizing his features with my fingertips. I watched the tension in his face melt into a relaxed peace as his eyelids became heavier and his breathing slowed to a steady rhythm.
Giving him this gift of serenity made my heart sing.
I kissed his forehead and without any pretense or forethought, I let my lips wander to his scar, pressing soft kisses along the entire jagged length. Tremors shook his body but he didn’t flinch away or stop me.
So I kissed it again, each touch of my lips leaving behind an invisible mark of affection and gratitude.
Then I kissed his cheek. The corner of his mouth. And ended with a small kiss on his lips.
His whole body exhaled when I pulled back.
   “Show me again,” he growled.
   “Show you what?”
“How you feel about me,” he commanded, his voice thick with emotion. “Kiss me.”

It started in the English countryside when he stopped to see if I was having car trouble.
It should have ended there.

But it turned into three of the most intense days of my life. And guess what? It didn’t end there either.
His name is Xavier Maddox. Sexy, talented, athletic. A British soccer star. The enticing bad boy.
He should be off limits for me.

My name is Victoria Chase. Ambitious, successful, broken. I’m the media relations director for the most successful football team in the United States. I have this policy about getting involved with athletes…or as I call them, the product.

Xavier was only supposed to be a one night stand. A distraction for me while I dealt with a long ignored family situation.
But he had other plans…
If he finds out what I’ve done, what I’ve destroyed, he’ll leave. Broken people like me don’t deserve a happy ending.

Captain Ian Flynn would die for any one of his crew…if he could. Now he might have to. Because one of the only known weapons able to kill an immortal is missing. The Spear of Destiny—a priceless religious artifact from the crucifixion—is in the hands of his ship’s ruthless ex-captain. Now the lives of the Sea Dog’s immortal pirate crew are all at risk…along with the headstrong mortal Ian never should have fallen for.

Writer Lily Bouchard isn’t sure what’s worse. That she fell for Ian Flynn only to get her heart broken, or that she romanticized the man like he was some gorgeous viking straight out of a movie. So when he shows up suddenly with some absurd tale of immortal pirates and mythical religious relics, Lily doesn’t know what to think. He’s always had a wildness beneath his well-tailored appearance…but how could any of this possibly be real?

Now a centuries-old vendetta between two pirate captains has erupted, and Ian will do anything to keep Lily safe—even if it means risking everything. But she won’t give him up without a fight.

The only thing more dangerous than killing an immortal is falling for one…
