I haven't read any of this author's other books, but I've heard a lot of good things about them and I have them sitting on my Kindle! I knew I wanted to read this book as soon as I heard about it because it sounded exactly like my kind of read! The synopsis sounded amazing and the cover is seriously hot! I'm so happy I made this book my first read from this author! It was an amazing book that had me pretty much hooked a few chapters in! I couldn't put it down and finished it in a few sittings! I would have finished it in one had I not started reading it quite late at night lol! The plot was amazing! There were quite a few twist and turns, and one in particular left me with my mouth hanging open! I didn't see it coming at all! The plot also developed at the perfect pace and there was some action and plenty of romance in it too! There were some seriously hot scenes too! I just loved the plot and I wish I had read it slower lol! The characters were also amazing! Deacon was the main male character, and he was such a hard, tough guy, but such a sweetheart as well! I mean, he was crude at times and downright honest, but he also always tried to do the right thing and everything he did was to protect the people he cared about! Deacon was also seriously hot and really protective of his love interest, Alex! He was also suprised with the arrival of a daughter in this book that he knew nothing about, and I actually think that he did a really good job! I mean, he was new at being a dad so there were teething problems, but he really cared about Willow and he grew more comfortable with her as the book progressed! Alexandra 'Alex' was the main female character, and she was the complete opposite of Deacon! She was so friendly and so nice and she had a good, steady job! She was quite the little vixen at times in this book though, and she became more confident as the book progressed! She also grew a lot as a character! Alex had done something that I never would have expected her to have done when she was younger, and she was still full of guilt! She had changed a lot though, and Deacon was actually a big part of that! I just loved Alex! She was really easy for me to connect with and she also did what she had to do to protect the people she cared about! I loved that this book was written from both Deacon and Alex's point of views! It added a lot to the plot and it helped me connect more with both characters! It was also so beautiful to see Deacon and Alex's feelings for each other grow through both of their eyes too! I can't wait to read the next book in this series! I loved this book and I know that the next book is going to be about different characters, so I'm even more excited to read it! I'm definetely going to be anticipating its release! I love the cover for this book! It suits the book perfectly and the guy on the front is seriously hot! I've also seen another cover floating around for this book too that's red, and I love that cover as well!
