Book Blitz & Giveaway: Mafia Princess [Crowned Criminals 01] by Kennedy Slope!

Excerpt!

Dominic lifted my veil, and I sobbed harder at the thought of what came next. Never before did I imagine my first kiss to be with a man who despised me, and I especially did not imagine it to be in front of nearly three hundred strangers on my wedding day. But, here we were with Dominic preparing himself to steal the first part of my innocence.
Ignoring my tears, Dominic made a big show of sweeping me into his arms before placing a sweet, chaste kiss on my lips. I cried harder as the crowd went wild.
“Smile, Sasha,” he commanded in his rough voice as he took my hand and led me down the aisle amongst cheers and rose pedals. I tried my best to bottle my emotions and smile pretty, but I felt dazed by the day’s events.
The cool air on my face as we finally reached the doorway of the church brought me out of my stupor. People threw rose petals on us, and photographers snapped pictures as we made our way towards the car. I wanted to scream and shout at all of them for not helping me.
“Where are we going?” I asked Dominic as we settled into the limo. I didn’t want to talk to him, but I honestly had no idea what came next. My family had taken care of all the planning, and no one deemed to tell me anything about it.
The largesse of my wedding dress made sitting next to each other impossible, and the distance gave me space to think and take in the events of the last hour.
“Take this,” he said in response, handing me a tissue box. “Wipe your face and fix your makeup. I don’t want to walk into our reception with you looking the way you do.”
His words stung, but I said nothing. Not only did my new husband scare me, but I was too tired to fight so early on into our marriage. Instead, I began dabbing my eyes like the good girl I was raised to be.
The ceremony had been long. Catholic ceremonies always were and considering ours needed to be conducted in both the Orthodox and the Roman way, I was surprised people even agreed to stay.
I was exhausted, and I wanted nothing more than to strip off my heavy dress and take a nap.
Readings, followed by mass, followed by a sermon, followed by vows, and then finally the kiss. So much pomp and circumstance for a wedding we all dreaded. Away from the crowds and the pressure, my tears abated, as I wiped my face and began reapplying my make-up.
No use crying now. I thought. Nothing could be done.
“How do I look?” I asked after applying a fresh coat of lipstick. I silently thanked Nadia for insisting on outfitting the limo with emergency supplies.
Dominic took my face in his large hands, gently turning me one way and then another. Despite feeling like cattle under the auction appraisers, I kept my mouth shut and allowed him to inspect me.
“You look like a child,” he said with disgust before releasing me from his grip.

Once upon a time, Sasha Petrov had been a mafia princess. Safe and protected in the high-tower of her father’s mansion. She had known her place, and she’d been happy for it. That had been before her family decided to marry her off to their enemy.

Sasha Petrov knew it was her duty to marry, but she never expected her father to give her away to their enemy, the Blanchi family. She’d accepted that it was her fate to end the bloodshed that took her brother’s life, but at eighteen she’d rather be heading off to college than heading down the aisle.

Dominic “Dom” Blanchi saw an opportunity to save his brother’s life. He’d already lost so much, and he couldn’t imagine burying another beloved member of his family. He was certain that his marriage to Sasha Petrov would save his last remaining brother from the grave. Getting a pliant young wife in the deal wouldn’t be the worst thing, at least, that’s what he told himself. But when his family’s warehouses get hit and Blanchi men continue dying, Dominic wonders if his new wife is to blame.

Now, both must make a choice between love and family loyalty.

And Sasha will have to decide if she’d rather be a Mafia Princess or a queen.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Walk on the Wilder Side [Wilder Adventures 02] by Serena Bell!

Excerpt!

The growl of an engine drowns Amanda out as a motorcycle takes the turn into the Wilder driveway a little too fast, kicking up wood chips and dust. It comes to a stop and Brody dismounts, removing his helmet and setting it down. The sun catches a glint in his hair, of course. He pushes his fingers through it, a habit he’s had since childhood. His hair is always disheveled, which takes nothing away from it.
Ohhh, Brody Wilder, you are a work of art. A scowl-y, troubled, troubling work of art.
He’s wearing bad-ass motorcycle boots, a form-fitting black t-shirt that shows off spectacular pecs and ripped abs, leather cuff bracelets on both wrists—one braided, one looped with chain—and a pair of ripped jeans.
As he gets closer, I try not to track each and every rip, but it’s tough, and my eyes find the one at the top of his thigh, where the golden hair on his thick quads peeks through. My fingers itch to touch it. It’s tough to look away.
I discover Amanda is watching me drool over Brody, amused. She raises her eyebrows at me, and I mouth, Sorry.
“No worries,” she says. “I’m really fucking used to it.”
It’s possible I look alarmed, because she hastily adds, “I mean, not just him. All of them.”
   “Hey.”
Brody utters the monosyllable in a honey-rich voice that I feel somewhere right below my belly button. Or, say, six inches lower.
I’m somewhat shocked to discover that he seems to be addressing me, or at least my general vicinity.
Brody Wilder doesn’t talk much, and he never talks to me.

His best friend’s sister is rocking his boat. In the best way possible.

Brody: What’s a bad boy doing hosting a book club? Excellent question. All I can tell you is, it’s not going well. I forgot the bug wipes, the extra TP, and the hand sanitizer, we’re out of wine, and… well, I may have made some people angry, if the reviews are any indication. The only way to dig myself out of this hole is to redeem myself by offering the best girls’ nights out in town.

Enter my best friend’s sister. I’ve gone out of my way to avoid Rachel, since despite her good-girl rep, I can’t seem to get her out of my head. Now she’s in my boat… and if I don’t watch myself, soon she’ll be in my bed. Things are going surprisingly well between us… but I know myself, and I’m not this guy. I’m the guy you want for fantasy fulfillment, not the guy you want for forever.

But what if I need this time to be different?

Release Day Blitz & Giveaway: The Heart Changer [Boston Hawks Hockey 06] by Gina Azzi!

Notorious ladies’ man and hockey hotshot Luca Pandatelli broke his own rules when he tangled up with me.

Not only did we spend an entire weekend in bed together, but he confided in me, sharing painful truths about his past. With a kiss good-bye and a promise to call, something sparked between us. Something that broke through my walls.

Except he didn’t call. And I re-enforced my walls with steel and barbed wire.

Now, I’ve accepted a job with the Boston Hawks franchise, making it inevitable that I see the last man I want to cross paths with. I’m prepared to dismiss him and pretend like our weekend together never happened.

But the regret in Luca’s eyes and the apology in his voice catches me off-guard. The harder I push him away, the harder he pulls me in.

Until the one thing I can’t accept, can’t forgive, comes to light.

And I’m left wondering, is Luca only interested in the chase? Or is really playing for keeps?

Blog Tour & Giveaway: #Fraser [Rich City Boys 01] by Even Monroe!

Excerpt!

Prologue
FRASER

   I look like hell.
   There’s no denying it.
The mirror reflects tired gray eyes and bone-deep weariness. The last few days, there’s been a gritty feeling I can’t quite blink away. Shadows below tell the tale of long days and nights chained to the desk. The bathroom light is stark and unforgiving, and my weary face stares back at me, joyless. Shaking my head, I pick up the razor. I don’t have all day to brood.
Carefully maneuvering the sharp blades along my jawline, it deftly cuts through yesterday’s growth. Every individual hair cut to skin level, the precision of these German-made blades is ruthless. I admire an instrument that carries out its job to perfection.
The parallel of this razor with my life isn’t lost on me. So much of my time is spent deployed by others to gracefully deliver the death blow and cut my opponents off at the knees. My battlefield is the courtroom, and there’s no break from the relentless pressure and the switch from being on the attack to being on the defensive in the blink of an eye.
It’s stress and argument and persuasion.
   All.
   Day.
   Long.
Toweling off the last of the lather from my face, I try a grin on for size, really giving it a good hard go. I get halfway before I admit defeat. My shoulders slump. How is it that I can muster up so little inner joy? The face in the reflection falls back into neutral, the emotionless mask that comes so easily these days.
Determined not to dwell, I roll my shoulders, stand tall, and run my hands through my hair with some product to keep it in place. Feeling a twinge in my bicep, I remind myself to slow down on the arm work at the gym. I’ve been training too hard, punishing the punching bag.
Despite my sun-deprived face, I do keep myself in fighting shape. Not that anyone sees me in the buff. God knows, it’s been embarrassingly long since my sex life was anything to boast about.
For years now, it’s been work, work, work—all my attention has been on my career. For me, work is more than just a job. It’s a calling, and for the longest time, it has been everything. My work is important, not only to me but for its wide-reaching impact, and I feel the weight of responsibility that goes along with it. I mentally note to get outside for some fresh air today and maybe speak to someone about something other than one of my cases.
The problem is, I have no idea where I’d even find someone to speak to about something normal. I have a close group of friends, but the four of us are all separated right now, and our jobs have taken us in strange directions. All of us working our asses off with no time for anything else.
And where the hell do you think you’re ever going to find a girlfriend? I groan, tightening the towel around my hips and turning to leave the bathroom. Somehow, I’ve ended up in a routine that has me a slave to the office, and honestly, I can’t remember the last time I looked at a woman and felt even a stir of interest.
Fuck, I need to get out more.

It’s not true what they say about all work and no play. It doesn’t make you dull, it makes you successful.

But I’m not sure how much longer I can endure the daily grind. Work, workout, rinse, repeat.

How the hell do I get myself out of this endless cycle?

Fraser is brilliant and dedicated to his job, which has fast become his biggest downfall—focused and brilliant but lonely. His success has come at the cost of his happiness. Covering up the failings of others as well as being at their beck and call is slowly destroying him. His opinion of those working in Adele’s office, who are entwined in his success, is plummeting by the day.

Adele has always had her eye on the prize—study, work experience, and now, finally, a prestigious job she’s spent years chasing. What she didn’t expect was to find a toxic workplace and a sinking feeling that she’s made a big mistake.

When the two meet, their worlds quickly become entwined. Can Fraser find a way to use his renowned charm to win over the beautiful woman who constantly surprises him with her wit, kindness, and impressive lingerie collection? Can the two of them find a way out of their workplace prisons, or will Fraser’s fears and insecurities put an end to their smoldering hot romance before it has a fighting chance?

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Monster Hunter for Hire: Super Beast [Monster Hunter for Hire 01] by L. West!

Excerpt!

For some crazy reason, Detective Cade decides to up the hostility in the room when he takes two steps to insert himself in between me and the approaching vampire. Stupid, stupid human.
“Levi,” I warn, using his first name.
Dominick laughs deeply, and it’s not a happy one. In fact, it’s scary as shit, raising goose bumps up and down my arms. “You really think you can protect her from me?” he asks the detective.
“Touch me or her and you’re dead,” Cade threatens.
I squeeze my eyes shut with a curse. He’s wearing a fucking wire! Officers in a SWAT team are no doubt listening to every word that we say from a van somewhere close by, ready to come running in if needed.
“You’re so very wrong about that,” Dominick assures the detective, smiling to show his fangs. Unlike the vamp down at the door, I know he has better control. If the vampire king’s fangs have descended, then he plans to use them.
“Dom, please,” I plead with him on behalf of Cade’s stupidity. Maybe I should’ve warned the detective that Dominick can fly so he wouldn’t have come in so cocky. Did he really think a vampire king would ever let himself be trapped? Cade’s fear of the monsters is going to be the death of him.
Keeping his eyes locked on Cade’s face that I can’t see, Dom directs his next question to me. “Does your weak little human cop know how many nights you’ve begged me to touch you, Lena? How I could have him on his knees begging to serve me in any way I want before he can blink his pretty blue eyes?”
“The police are listening,” I tell him.
   “Yes. They are,” Dom growls.
Shit. He’s angry because that’s a lot more people who know the vampires’ secret about their blood.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t know or I wouldn’t have said anything,” I assure him. “Let’s go, Levi,” I say, but the detective doesn’t move either from fear or stubborn pride.

After a run-in with the Sebring Beach police department where a vampire’s servant ended up dead, Helena Graves is offered two choices – help the local PD chase down wanted monsters or spend the next ten years in prison.

Since she has a teenage daughter to raise, it was an easy decision for her to make.

Between running a somewhat controversial business, tense teacher conferences, and killer supernaturals on the loose, there’s never a dull moment in Sebring Beach or Helena’s life.

And for the first time in decades, her love life is about to get very interesting.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Time-Lapse [Moments 01] by JB Heller!

Excerpt!

HUX POV

The uncertainty in Eliza’s gaze made me feel like a fucking asshole. I’d done that. I’d dimmed the sparkle in her eyes that was there this morning as she sang into her hairbrush. I had to fix it, and I had to keep my distance. But I didn’t know how to do both.
I’d grinned and sent her a wink, and thanked God when her smile emerged. Her real smile. Seeing it lifted the weight that had settled on my shoulders the moment I realized I had to keep a distance between us.
I want her—there’s no doubt about that in my mind. But I also know if I let myself get too much closer, it will only make it that much harder for me to leave.
If anyone had asked me a few weeks ago if anything could keep me here, I’d have said hell no. But I’m beginning to doubt that. And I can’t. This has always been my plan, I can’t deviate now. No matter how much she makes me want to.
I’m walking down the embankment to my tree when something shoves into my back, making me stumble forward and almost lose my footing. I swing around, ready to give the person a piece of my mind, but I come face-to-face with a head of messy brown waves. My fingers instantly itch to push her hair away from her pretty face.
A coy smile lifts her lips. “Oh my God, I’m so sorry! I tripped over my own feet.”
I haven’t got a clue what she’s doing, but I play along. “Yeah, well, watch it next time,” I smirk.
Her eyes sparkle with mischief. “Trust me, I wouldn’t touch you by choice.”
My brows jump, and I close in on her. “Oh, really?” I watch her chest rise and fall with her excited breaths. “You should be so lucky.”
Eliza licks her lips quickly. “Oh, honey, you actually think a girl like me would be lucky to have you? That’s cute.”
I narrow my eyes on her. “Any girl would be lucky to get with me. If only you knew what I could do to you. To that prim-and-proper exterior you parade around with.” I step so close our chests are nearly touching. I drop my mouth and whisper in her ear, “I’d love to mess up that queen bee persona you’ve got going on, but you couldn’t handle me, princess.”
Then I leave her standing there, glaring, panting, and looking so damn hot I want to drag her back to her car so I can fuck that look right off her face.
She is clearly turned on right now, and knowing that I got her so worked up with nothing but my words … I shake my head and blow out a big breath, I’m in so much fucking trouble with this girl.

She is my biggest mistake and greatest regret…

I shouldn’t have let her in.
But she got under my skin and branded herself on my soul.
She gave me her light, her passion, her fire.
And I took it knowing I was going to leave her, and never come back.

I never thought I’d see her again.
But there she is, standing in front of me after five long years.
My biggest mistake and my only regret.
I thought leaving her was the hardest thing I’d ever do.
But that’s nothing compared to what it’ll take to win her back.
