Blog Tour & Giveaway: Weres and Witchery by AK Nevermore!

Karma’s a witch.

When witch Jena Seymore returns home to Havers-by-the-Sea to care for her dying aunt, old town politics and prejudices are rekindled. Between the local Westside Pack’s vendetta against her family and the coven pressuring Jena to become guardian of the magical node outside of town, she has enough problems without adding Chase Montgomery to the mix. Especially after he broke her heart by starting the devastating rumor that sent Jena running from town in the first place.

But Chase has plenty of problems of his own, and how to make amends with Jena and win her heart is at the top of the list. Unbeknownst to his pack, Jena is his fated mate, and after her leaving town the first time almost killed him, he’s not letting her get away again—no matter what the backlash might be.

And meanwhile, the node is turning wild, jeopardizing Havers-by-the Sea’s existence as tensions threaten to tear it apart from within. Deep-seated small town secrets could hold the key to its future—but only if they’re discovered before Samhain, when the blue moon rises.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Hooking Up With a Rockstar [Soulmates 02] by Kitt Henley!

Excerpt!

“Holy shit!” I hop away from the pool of whiskey and broken glass that’s spreading around my feet.
What’s he doing here so soon?
“Whoa. Let me help.” Anthony comes around the bar, and I stand—frozen—watching him closely as he bends down and carefully plucks a few larger chunks of glass from the floor. Then stands and meets my gaze.
   “Hey, June.”
   Jesus, he’s so handsome.
And tall. I’d almost forgotten how tall he is. I’m tiny—maybe five feet five in my stilettos, and having Anthony’s six-foot-five-inch frame looming over me again is giving me goose bumps.
“Hey, Anthony.” My voice trembles a little, betraying me.
“It’s good to be back here. With you.” His voice is so low it’s almost a whisper, and I feel my nipples tingle in response.
“Wow. Yeah, it’s good to have you back.” My voice is coming out all breathless.
He’s just…mouthwatering. Peering down at me with that come-hither smile on his face. It’s making me hot all over.
I manage to drag my eyes off of him, but it still takes a moment to get my brain working again.
“Can you grab the trash bin?” I try to avert my gaze, but as soon as his back is turned, I cave and let my eyes soak up all the delicious goodness.
He’s in his usual skinny jeans that show off his great ass and long legs, and he’s wearing this soft button-down shirt that’s framing his broad shoulders perfectly. His reddish-blond hair is a little longer now, tousled and oh-so-sexy.
But it’s that familiar Anthony swagger that completely does me in.
   Good Lord.
“Not a fan of Crown Royal, huh?” he teases, heading back my way with the bin. “I would have been happy to take it off your hands.”
“Ha ha. Very funny.” I narrow my eyes and reach for the broom we keep behind the bar.
“What can I say? I’m a funny guy.” He gives me another one of those beautiful, broad Anthony smiles, and my knees threaten to buckle underneath me.
“Yeah, I remember.” I give him a flirty little smile back.
His lip curls a little on one side, and I feel the pulse between my thighs.
   Uh-oh.
Pump the brakes, girl. And fast.
Jumping back into bed with Anthony is not the plan. In fact, it’s the exact opposite of the plan. But if he keeps on looking at me like that, my plans are going to fly right out the window and burst into flames.

I told him it was just a hookup. I don’t think he bought it.

JUNE: Anthony’s always been a wild good time, but even before his band got famous, I knew better than to let myself bask in the glow of that 1,000-watt smile.

He makes me feel things I don’t ever want to feel. For anyone.

So when his band went on tour halfway across the world, forgetting him was the goal, but his postcards from the road didn’t make it any easier.

And now he’s back. Playing my club, looking every inch the rock god, and reminding me what it feels like to be with him.

Under him.

But I have a club to run, a boss breathing down my neck, and no room for distractions. This is my chance to prove myself, and unlike my mother, I’m not about to let some guy derail my life.

Three nights.
That’s all I have to survive without letting my guard down.
Without losing myself.
Without wanting him.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: The Magical Christmas Cottage [Charmed Love 03] by Aimee O’Brian!

Excerpt!

With a playful glance at Carter, Alina slipped the small gold ring on her finger. It fit perfectly. She admired the filigreed design of clasped hands and held up her own. “What do you think?”
Carter frowned at her. Of course he did. His voice was rough when he spoke. “What are you doing?”
Alina shrugged. “Having some fun. You could try it. You do know what fun is?”
His frown lines deepened into furrows. If he wasn’t careful, he’d look old before his time.
Determined to help him avoid that fate, Alina teased, “Don’t you ever have fun? Here.” She held out the larger ring to him. It too, had a design of clasped hands.
He raised a disapproving brow. “You want me to put on some old wedding band.” It wasn’t a question and the censure in his voice was obvious.
“Sure, why not? What are you afraid of?”
He tilted his head. “I’m not a commitment-phobe if that’s what you’re implying.”
“So, put it on.” She issued the challenge to see if he’d accept.
“We are not making a commitment.”
“No, we are playing. Fun, remember?”
When he just stared at the ring, she added, “I dare you.”
Carter’s eyes narrowed. “You dare me?”
“That’s right, I dare you.” She was back to playground taunts, but this time Alina didn’t care because it really was fun. And he needed to lighten up.
Carter tilted his chin up for a moment before he narrowed his eyes at her and slipped the ring on the third finger of his left hand.
It went on easily like hers had. “See, perfect fit. I wonder where they came from.”
“They’re old, I’m certain.” Carter gazed down at the ring on his finger. “I’ve seen pictures of this type of ring somewhere. Traditional workmanship but surprisingly comfortable. Okay, time to get back to work. Fun’s over.”
   “Fun should never be over.”
Carter tugged on the ring to take it off. He blinked, tugged harder. “That’s odd. It went on so smooth, and now it’s stuck.”

In the small town of Hazard, sometimes love is the greatest Christmas miracle.

Alina McAllister is starting fresh in the charming town of Hazard, Rhode Island, with a simple plan: take a docent job at the Historical Society and embrace the magic of the season. But when her landlady Hazel suffers a stroke, everything changes. Hazel’s grumpy yet undeniably handsome grandson, Carter Bestwick, swoops into town determined to sell the cottage and move on with his corporate life. He needs Alina to leave—immediately.

With nowhere to go and a snowstorm trapping them together, Alina and Carter are forced into close quarters. What starts as a tense, begrudging arrangement soon sparks undeniable chemistry. As they clear out the attic, they discover Hazel’s magical wedding bands—heirlooms passed down through generations since the Revolutionary War—and find that sometimes, the magic of love is closer than they think.

In this heartwarming, opposites-attract holiday romance, Alina and Carter may just find that the greatest gift of all is an unexpected love.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: The Silence of Deceit [The Deceit Trilogy 01] by Jillian Eagan!

Excerpt!

Basil Yorke stepped inside and sat next to Rosalie. Without a word to her or Silence, he picked up some papers he had left on the seat.
The hush lasted, and neither Rosalie nor Silence dared speak in his presence. As lord, Basil was the highest power in the Western Cliffs. He commanded unwavering respect from everyone, especially his children.
Rosalie once heard that the only person who had ever made Basil smile was his wife. Since her death eighteen years earlier, he’d maintained a stern expression. His hair was starting to gray, and disappointment was etched into his cobalt eyes.
   Rosalie loved him dearly.
“Father,” she spoke up tentatively, “I brought some books along with me. I thought I could read more about our history.” Her voice faltered when Basil didn’t even look up at her. Despite his indifference, she pressed on. “I figured I could be of more use regarding the war if I understood it better.”
“How would you be of use in war?” he asked.
Rosalie looked at Silence, but her friend was just as timid around Basil as everyone else was. “I just thought it would be a good time to start assuming more responsibilities.”
“You’re in no condition to take on any responsibilities.”
“I haven’t had a fit in three months,” Rosalie said. There were many consequences to her illness. She had suffered the condition since birth, but the pain and treatment from others never got easier. “I thought it was a good sign—”
“Rosalie, I’ve had it with your insolence,” Basil interrupted with a sharp look over the papers. “All you must do in this life is listen and obey. It’s simple, and you should be grateful you don’t carry the burdens your brothers and I do.”
Sheepishly, Rosalie bowed her head. Her eyes found the bag resting by her feet. One of the books poked out as if jeering at her. Her bookmark was already resting among the pages filled with Seity’s complicated trade relations. Whenever she read the boring paragraphs, she imagined herself impressing her father with her newfound knowledge.
Basil let out a frustrated sigh as he flicked through another pile of papers. “I don’t know why you have to question every little thing I say.” Although his eyes weren’t on his daughter, he kept speaking. “Rosalie, understand that this is your place in life. You are not meant to have power over anything. You must live with the circumstances you were born into.”
Rosalie knew when a conversation with her father was over, so she dropped the subject to spare herself further embarrassment. Across the way, Silence snuck her a sympathetic look.
Rosalie turned her head to meet her reflection in the window. A fragile girl peered back at her. A girl who yearned to be strong.

The nation of Seity.
Four ruling families.
One merciless tyrant.

When Eldon Durane executes a noble family and extinguishes all magic, he ignites a war that spans generations.

Two decades later, Lady Rosalie Yorke and her best friend, Silence, are uprooted from their comfortable lives to escape the spreading war. But Rosalie’s world shatters when ruthless raiders kidnap her—only for her fate to collide with Crowe, the notorious pirate captain of the Deceit.

Crowe wants nothing to do with Seity’s political turmoil, but the thirst for revenge leads him to Rosalie. Hoping to change his luck, he decides to extort Rosalie’s father for a ransom.

Rosalie refuses to be anyone’s pawn, and Crowe has no patience for nobility. As the two bicker and dodge danger, Seity’s long-buried secrets begin to emerge from the shadows.

With Eldon’s deadly plan looming, Rosalie and Crowe must set aside their differences. Should they fail, Rosalie may lose everything.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Howling Storm by Nicola Italia!

Excerpt!

A light rain had begun to fall as she watched Spencer do his work. The stone walls were cold and barren, and as the tenants had left months ago, there was nothing that gave her a sense of what the family had been like. There was an empty bottle on the shelf of the kitchen, and the cottage had a musty smell to it.
She knew that the families had been moved to a temporary shelter at the edge of the estate until the new cottages were built.
“I’m almost done,” Spencer called from up above as he bounded down the stairs. “One more to go.”
The last cottage they visited was at the end of the road and situated some distance away from the others. It had an abandoned look to it. There was a dead plant in front of the door, and when they entered, Spencer sputtered as he walked into a spiderweb.
“Watch it!” he said, waving his hand in front of them to wipe the web away.
Immediately upon entering the cottage, Imogene felt a sense of unease. She shook herself, trying to stem such a foolish response, but it stayed with her. The cobwebs were dense here, and unlike the other cottages, a layer of thick dust covered everything. The other cottages had only recently been vacated, but this one seemed to have been deserted long ago.
A yellow rocking chair was in the corner of the room and she stared at it. Had a young babe been suckled in that chair? Or had an old woman watched over her grandchild? There must have been happiness here. But the chair looked lonely and empty, and she turned from it.
She could hear Spencer walking above her, and the overcast sky barely penetrated the two windows facing the road. She crossed her arms over her chest to keep warm from the coldness that had seeped in from the walls.
She glanced vaguely at the fireplace that dominated one wall of the family room and stared at the black soot that had been left after years of use and then disregard. It had not been cleaned for some time and completed the sense of neglect. She was mesmerized by the black soot because the longer she stared at it, the more she could make out a large black void that appeared to be a mouth gaping wide in a scream.
She took a step back, as she had spooked herself, and shuddered. What an absurd thing! There was no face. It was black soot. Nothing more. But she deliberately turned away from the fireplace and looked out the window, wishing she was away from here.
She turned back, looking upstairs, hoping to see Spencer coming down, when she thought she spotted something. Something in the low gray light had caught her eye. She moved her eyes back and forth along the fireplace but lost it. What had she seen? Something had glinted in the dark. The clouds again moved outside, and the room darkened once more.
“Thank you for waiting,” Spencer said, coming to stand beside her. “I’m done.”

A vanished sister. A spooky village. A killer hiding in plain sight.

When Imogene York stumbles upon a long-lost letter hinting at the fate of her sister Felicity who has been missing for over a decade, it leads her to the village of Linwood. Posing as a secretary in the powerful Linwood household, Imogene begins a covert investigation into Felicity’s disappearance.

Her only confidant is Spencer St. George, the village architect with secrets of his own. As fellow outsiders, they forge a connection that transcends mere friendship. But as their bond deepens, so do the dangers surrounding them. Imogene’s search for the truth causes her to cross paths with a killer whose dark impulses are tightly interwoven with Linwood’s past.

As Imogene edges closer to uncovering what happened to her sister, she must confront a chilling truth: the monster she seeks is not be lurking in the shadows… but hiding in plain sight.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Coming Up for Air by Jessica Natalie Reino!

Excerpt!

Coming out of my primal state and into a more peaceful one, I remembered what we had been taught about the waves. Waves will always come crashing, but the only way to avoid them crashing onto you is by letting them crest and diving headfirst right through until you could come up for air. You could either be crushed by the weight of water or you could float along with the current and glide through to take a much-needed breath. It was a perfect life lesson for the way I was feeling right now because grief was a lot like that too.

As if the rumors and whispers from the people of her seaside town, Oceanbrook, weren’t bad enough, 17-year-old Sarah D’Antonio is troubled by the whispers from the forest. It’s not her fault that she hears voices, that she sees auras, and that she has been sleepwalking along the shore. The townspeople, and Sarah’s parents among them, claim that it is all in response to stress, including her chronic migraines and panic attacks. They believe that she can’t come to grips with the fact that her cousin, Lena, is dead. But Sarah knows that the things she is experiencing are real and not something she is bringing on herself. She also knows that Lena is not dead, only missing. She believes that there is something more supernatural going on and that the town is hiding secrets.

Sarah’s feelings are validated when she suddenly becomes thrust into a world in which she has always sensed but never seen. A world of fairy witches, shape-shifters, and legendary creatures. The world of the astral plane. And now, it will be up to her to form alliances to save the magic, fix the astral plane, and most importantly, to bring her cousin home.
