But O’Connell only needs one thing in life: his wife. In her final year of college, Em cannot follow him around the world but together they make it work.

Just when everything they ever wanted is on the horizon, the past resurfaces to haunt them and O’Connell realises that justice might not be a part of his happy ever after.

He couldn’t protect Em once before, but in the aftermath of the hurricane, he will make sure that never happens again.

I was on the original Blog Tour for this book when it was first self-published last year, but then I was on the UK Blog Tour for the traditionally published version of the book, so I was very happy when I received an email from the UK publisher asking me if I would like to be on the Blog Tour for this book! I really enjoyed the first book in the series, so I of course said yes! I hadn't read this book, even though it had been out for a while, so I was looking forward to diving back into the characters story! I loved this book! It was so beautiful and the amount of love between the two main characters was insane and it was very easy to see how much they loved each other! This book also didn't have tons of action and suspense in it, but there was enough going on in it to keep me wanting to read on! I also read this book in a few sittings too! The plot just developed at perfect pace and it had a lot in it and was very sad at points! There were a few twist and turns too, and some really surprised me! The characters were again amazing and made this book for me! Cormac was the main character of this book, and this differed a lot to the first book which was written from Cormac's love interest's point of view! I loved getting to read a full book from Cormac's point of view! It was amazing to see the amount of love he had for his love interest, Em, and the amount of love he had for her was fierce! Cormac was also again seriously hot in this book and I just loved him! He was the perfect book boyfriend and I loved that he would do anything for Em to make sure that she was safe and well! E
m was back in this book, but she was a secondary character as this book was written from Cormac's point of view! Em had come such a long way from the person that was introduced at the beginning of the first book! She was stronger and more in control of her life! It was amazing to see her be in control and do what she wanted without living in fear! I just loved Em in this book and she was Cormac's support blanket and helped him a lot! As I said above, this book was written entirely from Cormac's point of view! I loved getting to go inside his head and see everything through his eyes! I would have loved it if a few chapters had been written from Em's point of view as well though, but I was happy that the epilogue was! I also can't believe that this series is over! I'm really sad to say goodbye to Em and Cormac, but I'm really happy that they got their happy ending! The two of them deserved it so much! I also definitely again saw potential for the secondary characters in this book to have their own books! I think I actually said this in my review for the first book too lol! I really hope that it's something the author considers because it would be amazing! The UK cover for this book also suits the cover for the first book perfectly! It's the same image, which I like! I'm also a big, big fan of the US cover too! Big thank you to Little, Brown Book Group for a bound copy of The Aftermath, and for having me on the UK Blog Tour!
