Feeling bolder in the thought, she sat straighter. “Can I ask you something?”
He faced her and tucked his hands in his pockets. “Sure.”
“Last night you told me you wanted to learn to tolerate someone’s touch. That’s not just a fantasy for you, is it? It’s something you really want.”
He turned his head, looking out the windows off to her right. “Yes. But after last week, I’m not sure I’m willing to try again.”
What she was about to ask him didn’t make any sense in the grand scheme of why she’d come to this place. She’d wanted quick and dirty. A good romp with a total stranger had seemed the perfect thing to push her out of the depression and uncertainty Elliott had left her with.
Meeting Hunter had been a fluke, too. Hell, seducing him had been a challenge. Except she’d gotten to know him, and her needs had shifted. He made her want…something more. A halfway point. She wasn’t ready for a relationship, but she couldn’t deny the thought of a fling with an honest to goodness nice guy felt right.
