Release Day Blitz: Rattlin' Bones [Royal Bastards MC: Las Vegas, NV 04] by Nikki Landis!

Fear what hides in the shadows ...

Skel:
It’s supposed to be a simple job—a request from my new president to scout a potential business.

The strip club in Vegas is nothing special, as routine as any other in the City of Sin. But when I walk in the door, I find a curvy blonde fighting off an overeager, handsy customer.

I step in, sweeping her into my arms and issuing a warning to anyone trying to force themselves on a woman. Lacey isn’t grateful. She’s pissed.

When I leave, I can’t stop thinking about her. She intrigues me. It only takes a few seconds to realize she’s just the type of woman I would fall for. Lacey is heaven on the eyes and hell on the heart.

She’s wrong in every way: too young, troubled, on the opposite side of the law, and hiding a secret that could shatter the new club I joined.

I should stay away.

But I can’t. I have to follow her home, ensuring she’s safe. Something isn’t right when I park my bike. Busting down her door, I stop a vicious attack, saving Lacey’s life. Her enemy? It’s the same one my club has declared war against.

Now, Lacey is mine to protect, and I won’t let anyone harm her. She’s got secrets, but I do, too.

It’s almost Halloween. All the spooky, creepy things that play on the devil’s night? I command them.

She has no idea how vicious I’ll become to end every threat against her and the club. I’m unleashing the monster within, and he’s got a ravenous appetite.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Chase the Dark [Steel & Stone 01] by Annette Marie!

Excerpt!

Piper dropped to her knees beside the vent and listened to the sound of claws on metal. A soft thump came from the other side of the wall.
She looked up. She was sitting right outside Ash’s room. The dragonet had run straight to Daddy.
Unmoving, Piper contemplated the door. Ash was somewhere behind it. Was he asleep? What were the chances she could sneak in and retrieve the ring box without him noticing?
She considered it for half a second. Yeah, zero.
Before she could come up with a better plan, the door popped open. Framed in the threshold, Ash looked toward the sitting room. Then he glanced down, saw her sitting at his feet, and blinked.
Piper shot up, struggling to keep her gaze on his face. He wore a loose, sleeveless shirt that clung to the planes of his chest and left the sweep of heavy muscles on his arms bare, his fair skin flawlessly smooth in the shadows. The only other thing he wore was black cotton pants.
With a soft chirp, the dragonet hopped off the doorframe and landed on his shoulder, its golden eyes trained on Piper.
“What are you doing?” Ash asked, breaking the oh-so-awkward silence.
Piper shivered as his deep tones slid through her. How did his voice do that? Fear tickled her stomach, reminding her that she’d never been alone with him before.
Drawing herself up, she looked him square in the eye. “Your dragonet snuck into my room and stole something from me.”
His eyes held hers, and his gray irises dimmed to the color of storm clouds. Piper was abruptly aware of how dangerously close she was standing, barely a foot of space between their bodies. She was also aware of how much taller he was, the top of her head barely reaching his chin, and how his biceps were double the circumference of her arms.
The air felt hot and electric, the hallway darker than it’d been a moment before, and adrenaline flooded her bloodstream.
She was an idiot. Such an idiot.

Piper Griffiths wants one thing in life: To become a Consul, a keeper of the peace between humans and daemons. There are three obstacles in her way.

The first is Lyre. Incubus. Hotter than hell and with a wicked streak to match. His greatest mission in life is to annoy the crap out of her, but he isn’t as harmless as he seems. The second is Ash. Draconian. Powerful. Dangerous. He knows too much and reveals nothing. Also, disturbingly attractive — and scary. Did she mention scary?

The third is the Sahar Stone. Top secret magical weapon of mass destruction. Previously hidden in her Consulate until thieves broke in, went on a murder spree, and disappeared with the weapon.

And they left Piper to take the fall for their crimes.

Now she’s on the run, her dreams of becoming a Consul shattered and every daemon in the city gunning to kill her. She’s dead on her own, but there’s no one she can trust — no one except two entirely untrustworthy daemons … See problems one and two.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Let’s Not and Sleigh We Did [Christmas Shenanigans 03] by J.P. Sterling!

Excerpt!

   A ring.
Not just any ring, a rose gold band.
“What are you doing?” I whisper, a little harshly, the ring pulsating in my peripheral vision.
“We talked about this, remember?” Luke’s voice drops, rasping.
“We talked about marriage.” I tilt my head to one side, as if I’m physically dividing this argument in half., “But not this, and not in front of them.”
“You’re being modest.” He laughs, tossing a look back at his parents. “I thought it would be nice to share this moment with them.”
“You did?” my voice squeaks, as I’m totally blindsided and wishing I had at least a heads- up. The arrangement had sounded so much more business casual than what’s going on right now. A proposal on one knee is not business casual. This is my heart in my throat, and I’m about to throw up. “Where did you get a ring?” I hiss.
   “I bought it today.”
“Today?” I grapple for my throat, praying something gives before I pass out.
“Yeah, today when I was thinking about you.”
Doing a hard pause on the word, you, he’s still holding the ring awkwardly in his hand. I frantically search his face for signs of a prank, but he doesn’t have an ounce of humor curved into a smile.
   He’s one-hundred-percent serious.
Quakes rumble against my rib cage. This is an act. I’m clearly about to blow our cover as I’m acting so confused, but this whole thing is blowing my mind. “This is happening so fast.”
“It’s okay. Better than okay.” He takes my hand in his, holding it in front of him. “Ten years ago, you kissed me on a dare. You didn’t know it at the time, but I was already falling in love with you. You were my first kiss, but I knew in that moment, I wanted you to be my last.”
I blink. Everything about his proposal sounds genuine.
My gaze floats to his mom; her hands clasp together in front of her, but her gaze is piercing in my direction. Luke’s dad has a that’s-my-boy grin laced on his lips.
   And Luke!
Luke’s winning an Oscar for his acting. His gaze dials right into mine, like it’s boring a trail through my eyes right to my heart. I can’t even tell it’s a fake proposal, and I one-thousand- percent know it’s fake.
   It is fake . . . right?

Oh, oh, the mistletoe, hung where I did NOT see.
My brother’s friend waits for me and gets down on one knee—What is happening?

Somebody stop it, please!
Oh, those dreamy blue eyes batting at me, and all the words he dares to say.
This is bad.
Like really, really bad.
We’re now planning a wedding day.
But it’s all for a good reason, not love.
Oh, cough, cough, let’s not bust out the L-word.
It’s purely business.
It is a solid plan until it isn’t.
So maybe I love him, but we agreed not to do that . . . whoops!

Let’s Not and Sleigh We Did is a fake marriage of convenience, brother’s best friend, just-kisses-but-all-the-swoons romcom. Oh, yeah, there’s a fluffy cow too!

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Marrying the Mechanic [Summer Creek 07] by Shanna Hatfield!

Excerpt!

His thoughts swiveled back to Eli and Tassie. “Have you heard anything about my sister and Eli?”
“No, other than Eli seems completely lovestruck and adores your sister. I’ll only say this once, and you can ignore it if you want to, but Eli is a great guy. He’s mellow, down to earth, has common sense and kindness. He can take or give a good joke. He’s not the least bit entitled or arrogant and genuinely cares about people. Tassie could search a long time to find someone like Eli, and I’m not saying that just because he’s my wife’s favorite sibling. Eli truly is a good human.”
Jace let Parker’s words sink in. If his sister had to fall in love, then he supposed it could have been much worse than with a good-hearted prince.
“Give Eli a chance. You might just find that you like him, at least a little bit,” Parker suggested.
“I’ve liked him less every day Tassie has been gone over the two weeks she initially planned to be in Briden. Are you sure she’s coming back with Poppy for the festival?”
“That’s what my wife said. Tassie and Eli are both returning with her.”
Jace couldn’t stuff down a groan before it escaped. “You mean lover boy is coming with Tassie?”
Parker smirked. “I’ll be sure to tell him you gave him that name. He’ll be thrilled.”
“You do that, and I’ll tattle to Poppy that you forgot to shut the door to the greenhouse and Ethel got into the plants. Your little story about selling a bunch of them won’t hold water if she finds out the goat ate them, and you paid for them, then took the gnawed-on flowers out to the desert for a hasty burial.”
“You wouldn’t dare.” Parker narrowed his gaze, like they were about to engage in a shoot-out on Main Street.
Jace shrugged. “I probably wouldn’t, but you never know.”
Parker cut a piece of his steak, then motioned with his knife to Deena and Bread Boy, who were sharing bites of a cheesecake.
If Jace hadn’t been half-starved, it might have turned his stomach to observe the couple.
“You can’t blame her for having a life if you’re too big of a coward to speak up. You never did answer my question, though.” Parker studied him for a moment. “How long have you had a thing for her?”
“Not long. The evening of Natalie Park’s baby shower, I got to see Deena all dressed up on her way to the shindig. It felt kind of like being struck by lightning when I realized the beautiful woman I was ogling was my little sister’s best friend, all grown up.”
A laugh rolled out of Parker. “I’m envisioning the look on your face.” He leaned back in his chair and smiled. “Oh, yeah. That was a picture-worthy moment, I’m sure.”
   “Shut up, smart aleck.”

A heartwarming journey of love, growth, and the bonds that tie hearts together even when life leads down unexpected paths.

Mechanic Jace Easton grapples with the sudden changes happening around him. His younger sister, Tassie, has always relied on him, but now she’s off traipsing around the globe with the prince of her dreams. As Tassie prepares to step into her future, Jace is confronted with the harsh truth that she has matured, and so has her best friend, Deena. The deepening attraction he feels for Deena—a pull that becomes increasingly difficult to ignore—leaves him further unsettled and struggling to accept his new reality.

Deena Durant may earn her living welding farm equipment, but her true passion lies in crafting metal sculptures. Alongside her artistic dreams, she clings to the hope that Jace might eventually see her as more than his sister’s friend. Until then, she conceals her feelings and does her best to encourage him as everything familiar shifts into unchartered territory.

When Jace and Deena work together to help Tassie’s dreams come true, will they discover their own path to true love?

Book Blitz & Giveaway: How to Solve a Murder with a Grump [How to Solve a Murder 01] by Laura Pauling!

Excerpt!

Barrie

I’m dealing with a classic grump.
He’s practically standing right on top of me, and he’s showing all the symptoms. First, he can’t hide the fact that he’s impatient. Like the way he’s stabbing me with his facial features. Definitely a clue.
Then the grump speaks.
“What are you doing?” he asks, in what seems to be disbelief; his tone, dismissive. Annoyed. The kind of tone filled with condescension that sends my heart rate sky high.
All signs we might be dealing with the most extreme kind of grump.
It’s a simple question. It should be an easy answer. Now, you might be tempted to be a grump back, but instead, why not have a little fun?
Give the grump an extra dose of sunshine. Of course, ignore the eye daggers and the huffs and the pursed lips.
I wait another second—just for funsies—then give him the brightest, cheeriest smile I can muster. “Oh, just in for a fantabulous weekend with the girls. We’re going to have so much fun. So much. You know”—I flash him another smile like he understands—“all the typical girl stuff. Painting nails. Too much wine and dancing in the hotel bar. Laughing.”
   Another fact about grumps.
They don’t like to laugh. Just the idea of laughing or having fun makes them want to run screaming for a man cave.
I go on and on about our fun weekend. Adding more sunshine to his day.
Finally, he interrupts. Very grumpy of him if you ask me.
“I mean, what are you doing right now?” he demands.
I laugh—a girlish-like giggle, which drives a grump nuts. “Like right this second?” I hold up my phone and wave it. “Just doing a little texting.” I see his gaze go to the elevator behind me.
   Ah yes, here’s the reason.
They eventually give it away. He’s annoyed he’s not first in line and the elevator is taking a long time. But we’re in the city and there are a lot of floors.
“Yes, I’m waiting to get to my room, too. Sometimes, these hotel elevators take forever. You just gotta role with it, hon.” Somehow, a Southern accent—I’m a New Englander all the way—has slipped in and I’m not sure why.
Hey, I never said it was easy dealing with a grump. It takes nerves of steel. It takes commitment to follow through on the sunshine treatment and not devolve into snarky remarks.

Barrie:

I am determined to make my best friend’s wedding weekend perfect. That includes editing the best man’s speech and making sure he doesn’t drink too much.
Except, he’s the worst kind of grump with a capital G.
Not only that but when this perfect wedding unravels, I find myself the object of his wrath.
He blames me.
So I run.
And I’m wearing the wedding dress. (Don’t ask.)
As I hide out in a small town, following my dreams, I stumble upon a decades-old murder mystery.
Turns out texting the grump might be my only lifeline. And I’m definitely not flirt-texting. Nope. Not me.
Because falling for a grump can only lead to a broken heart.
Right?

Miles:

For the record, I am not a grump.
It’s not me. It’s them.
It’s women.
I’m looking forward to the wedding this weekend. My best friend is getting married.
And the maid of honor texts me.
Not just once.
Oh, no, because that would be much too sensible. Nope. Try a dozen. It felt like a hundred.
I can tell by a glance at the texts that she’s one of those micro-managing, in your business, thinks-she-knows-everything type of woman.
Forget it.
I don’t want her number. I don’t want coffee. I don’t want a date.
I don’t want a single conversation.
Okay, fine. I’m a grump.
But can you blame me?

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Everything I’ve Ever Wanted to Say by Lauryn Norwood!

Excerpt!

Shane

I’ve learned to live life with my head down, spend my days in the family home living off the income from the bar I inherited from my brother.
When I first got out, I wanted to start fresh. To make up for my sins. To clean up my mess of a life. But that’s the thing about making very public blunders in a small town like Belleville—people never forget. Especially when stupid mistakes become a part of your family legacy. With a name like Turner, I couldn’t even get an interview, let alone a job. And having set up a trust fund for my kids with the money from my music days, I had no choice but to accept my brother's offer—part owner of a bar I rarely set foot in.
With one glance at the keypad, I register the glowing M button and lean my head up against the back wall of the elevator, ignoring the one other person inside, not even glancing in their direction.
After today’s visit, I’m in serious need of a drink.
Rowan pretty much told me I was out of time, that by the end of next week my mother likely won’t be breathing on her own. She’s had an inoperable brain tumor for years. I don’t know how he managed to keep her alive all this time, or why he even cared enough to. All I know is that if a fucking angel doesn’t fall into my lap in the next few days, my quest to save the woman who gave me life is over for good.
A hand rests on my shoulder, and I shake it off. I straighten and turn, ready to defend myself, but instantly relax once I see the girl standing next to me. Her hands are held out in front of her, her brow wrinkled as she shrinks back.
I lower my fist, quickly flipping the switch from defensive to sympathetic.
“Coco.” I shove my hands into my jacket pockets. “Shit, I’m sorry. I didn’t...see you there. I—”
“Do you always attack random people in elevators?” she asks, with a hint of a smile.
“Uh.” I shake my head. “No, it’s just...you caught me off guard is all.”
That and practically every physical confrontation I’ve had over the past few years has resulted in a bloody nose or a black eye.
   “I didn’t see you.”
“Sorry for scaring you. I said ‘hi’ when you walked in, but it’s like you were in another world.” She smiles a little wider, then leans forward, climbing to her tiptoes as she wraps her arms around my neck. “I haven’t seen you in forever. How are you?”
“Fine.” I stiffly pat her back. “I’m good. And you?”
“I’m good.” She sniffs, nodding a little too vigorously to be convincing. The rims of her eyes and the tip of her nose are a slowly fading red.
My muscles instantly tighten, and I take a small step back. “What are you doing here?”
This is why I hate fucking hospitals. This. Sickness. Sadness. Death.
“Oh, um, it’s nothing. Doctor’s appointment.”
“Oh, cool,” I reply, mostly to myself.
   “You?”
   I clear my throat. “Same.”
She licks her lips and folds her arms against her chest, hunching over a little.
“It’s been a while,” I say. “Didn’t think you were even still in Belleville.”
“I was in Vancouver for a few months. I go back and forth between Toronto for work. And when I’m in town I’m usually at Ian’s.”
“Ian Cross?” I raise an eyebrow.
   She nods, ducking her head.
That’s still happening? What are the chances?
“I'm staying at the house this summer though. If I recall, you’re the one playing the disappearing act.” She smiles. “I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever.”
The elevator slows and I let out a soft sigh. “Mostly keep to myself these days.”
“You look good. Different, but good. More grown up, I guess.”
My gaze travels from her face down the length of her body.
   I’m not the only one.
This definitely isn’t the Collette Rose I remember. She’s filled out a little—no more chicken legs and flat chest. Her brown legs are taut and shapely. Even her hair is different. It’s darker now. Almost jet black. Her kinky curls are gone now too. The silky, waves flowing out from beneath the hat look fine, I guess. But definitely not as memorable. Her face still looks the same though, just a little less round and more defined. She’s grown into herself. No longer the girl next door. And it shows.

Collette “Coco” Rose returns to her small hometown for the summer, hoping to repair her turbulent, on-again-off-again relationship. Instead, she finds herself drawn back into the orbit of Shane Turner—the town’s reclusive outcast.

Once a rising musician, Shane has spent the past five years hiding from the world, haunted by past mistakes and cut off from everyone.

When fate throws Coco and Shane together once more, they must confront their shared past—a childhood crush that refuses to fade. As they navigate broken hearts and complex lives, their connection grows into something far more intense than either had imagined.

In this tender and passionate journey, set in the early 2000s, Coco and Shane must decide if they are willing to open their hearts to each other for a second chance at real love.

The loved stories like Goosebumps growing up and decided to create their own campfire story that would leave a little fright for the younger readers to enjoy. They plan to work on more in the future. Cover Reveal & Giveaway: Infestation [Days Of Iron And Clay 02] by Aileen Erin!

SAMANTHA

I never thought I’d willingly walk into Hell again, but I did.

I survived and am back where I belong—at home. But Gabe, my demon-dead friend, is still missing. And the guilt is crippling me.

While I’m laughing and happy with my boyfriend, Gabe is suffering. While I’m resting and healing, Gabe is being endlessly tortured. But every plan I come up with is a suicide mission. And despite what it sometimes looks like, I’m not ready to die.

So, when my werewolf friends ask me to help their pack with a problem, there’s no way I can say no—even if I’m not ready to jump into another fight. There’s a mysterious evil the werewolves can’t track, and they need me to help them kill it.

It’s the perfect distraction. The only problem? Phoenix, a mortal, wants to go with me.

Even though he’s proven he can handle the supernatural, I can’t help but think nothing good can come from him getting an even better glimpse of how not normal my work life is. But I can’t say no to him; all I can do is pray Phoenix is still by my side when this is over.

PHOENIX

My life pre-Samantha was turmoil. Soccer career, over. Family life, devastated after the loss of my grandmother. Dating? Laughable. Every relationship fell apart because the door in my heart had been shut tight. I was unknowingly holding out for the one girl who had completely changed my world.

Samantha is it for me; my heart knew it before I did. I’d go anywhere as long as it’s with her.

But her guardian angel, Eli, said something to me that makes me think something truly terrible will happen to Samantha. And I’m not about to let that happen. I’ll do anything to keep her safe.
