Blog Tour & Giveaway: Surrendering To You [Priestly Family 04] by Sharon C. Cooper!

Excerpt!

She strolled down the short hallway, and as she entered the waiting area, Cree spotted two men sitting on opposite sides of the space. However, there was only one who met and held her gaze, and Cree pulled up short.
Tristan. The last person she expected to see. Had he really been here for the past hour?
He stood to his imposing height, and her breath stalled in her throat as he buttoned his suit jacket. At well over six feet tall, the man was dressed to impress and looking as if he came to play hardball. Gone were the dress shirt and pants from earlier. In its place was a navy-blue suit that screamed wealth, and no doubt had been tailored specifically for his drool-worthy body.
The man looked larger than life standing there, and it was taking every bit of strength Cree had not to walk up to him and kiss him senseless.
Yeah, that wouldn’t be smart at all. Still, she was tempted.
She swallowed hard as she struggled to keep her gaze from traveling over his impressive physique. Impossible. There was no woman alive who could see this man and not do a double take. Hell, they probably wouldn’t be able to take their eyes off him period.
Yeah, he was that fine, and the suit only added to his imposing masculinity.
Her gaze did a slow glide over his extra broad shoulders that looked strong enough to hold up a twenty-story building. Then there were his ridiculously wide chest and biceps almost as big as her thighs.
But in this suit, every part of him seemed magnified. Except his waist. His shoulders tapered down to a narrow waist. She didn’t have to look beneath the clothes to know he still had eight-pack abs.
And those thighs? Lord have mercy. It was no wonder he was one of the best running backs to play the game. His pants highlighted his powerful thighs and long, super long legs.
Immediately, memories of him holding her up against the wall as if she weighed nothing, while thrusting in and out of her, flooded her mind. Sex with him had always been intense, hot, and beyond satisfying as he brought her to one orgasm after another.
Cree shook the memory free and realized Tristan’s confident steps were bringing him closer.
“Hello, Cree,” he said when he stood in front of her, and the sound of his voice was deep and as sexy as the rest of him.
Cree heard Shantel whimper, and she couldn’t much blame her. This was all part of the power that Tristan willed over unsuspecting women.
His gaze swept the length of Cree’s body before returning to her eyes. Then he held up a thick manila envelope in his right hand, which was when she noted the bling on one of his fingers and more around his wrist.
His wealth was showing on every part of his body, and it all looked good on him.
Tristan moved even closer and lowered his voice. “We can either talk now, or we can have this conversation over dinner tonight. Your choice.”

His betrayal cost him the only woman he has ever loved. Now, he’s determined to win her back.

On the football field Tristan Whitmore might be an MVP, but after a recent career-ending injury, his world is flipped upside down. He takes little comfort in his many NFL achievements and a bank account bulging with more money than he could ever spend. His life feels like it’s over… until he reconnects with the one woman he’s never forgotten. Too bad she hates him.

Entertainment lawyer, Cree Priestly is not the forgiving type. Betray her once, and you’re dead to her. Which is why Tristan will never get a second chance with her. She lost too much the last time he charmed her into falling in love with him. Letting that happen again would make her a fool. But when he kisses her, all the buried memories of love, desire, and passionate nights come rushing back.

But can Cree afford to surrender her heart to Tristan again? Or are some betrayals impossible to move past?

Release Tour & Giveaway: Spirit Bear Conspiracy [Brotherhood of the Wild 01] by Anne Kane!

Excerpt!

Kimberly

I rinsed myself off and then stepped out of the shower, wrapping one towel around myself and using another to towel my hair dry. Still working on my hair, I opened the door and sauntered down the hall into the living room. “So who was at the door? A vacuum cleaner salesman or one of those darling guys in white shirts and badly fitting suits trying to save your soul?”
“Ummm.” Sasha cleared her throat noisily. “Actually, it’s my stepbrother, Matty. You remember me telling you about him?”
I let go of the second towel in favor of making sure the one wrapped around my torso was firmly in place. “Oh crap, I’m sorry. I’ll go get decent.” I could feel my face turning bright red as I whirled around and scurried down the hall to my bedroom.
Just what I needed -- to meet Sasha’s stepbrother without any clothes on. I choked down an insane urge to start giggling. I had the feeling once I started, I wouldn’t be able to stop. Hopefully I hadn’t flashed the poor guy with any body parts before I fled.
I pulled on a clean pair of jeans and a sweatshirt before blow-drying my hair. I needed to buy myself time to get over the embarrassment of waltzing practically naked into the living room.
I groaned at the thought of what he must think of me. Sasha had told me he was a bit of a maverick, ex-military turned crusader, running around trying to save the world.
Sounded like a nice enough guy, and Sasha adored him. A part of me envied the fact that both Sasha and her stepbrother had the financial security to let them do what they wanted with their lives. Unlike me, they were born into wealthy families. Although my salary as a conservation officer was decent enough, there wasn’t much left over at the end of the month. Life was expensive.
Putting the hair dryer down on the dresser, I grasped the door handle and took a deep breath. I opened the door and forced myself to walk down the hall to the living room as if I hadn’t just waltzed in there sporting a towel and nothing else. Matty was family, right? Family got to see you in your tattered jeans and Saturday sweats.
And with your soggy bath towel wrapped around you.
Sasha’s stepbrother was a bit of a mystery to me.
I’d never met him. I’d just heard stories about this crazy gonna-save-the-world guy that randomly showed up without prior warning. Sasha adored him because he’d run interference between her and her parents and managed to get them to back off when they wanted to marry her off to some country club guy in their jet set.
From what I’d gathered from Sasha’s stories, he belonged to a group of guys who didn’t always work within the law. I wasn’t quite sure how they went about that, but I suspected it paid to be rich and powerful enough to make people do what you want. He sounded like your typical rebel.
Plastering a smile on my face, I entered the living room at a sedate pace. “So where’s this famous stepbrother of yours?”
“Right here.” Sasha bounced to her feet, her eyes glowing happily as she swept her arm out to indicate the man lounging on the sofa beside her. “Matty, meet the sister of my heart, Kimberly.”
The man rose to his feet and turned to face me, extending his hand.
Taking the offered hand, I looked up and the smile froze on my face as I stared into those gorgeous blue eyes. “Ryland?”

My mission: Save my woman, guard the secret of the rare spirit bear, and take down the poachers.

Ryland — I was tailing a gang of poachers, certain they’d lead me straight to their kingpin, when a stray arrow from a crossbow slammed into me. Pain lanced through me and everything faded to black. In that blur of unconsciousness, I could have sworn a pure white bear stood over me, calm as can be. When I opened my eyes again, a woman — curvy and impossibly beautiful — was watching me with the cutest look of mixed concern and distrust on her face.

Kimberly — I thought I was alone on a tiny island off the coast of British Columbia until an arrow from a crossbow barely missed skewering me. With my dog Diego at my heels, I ran to hide in a maze of caves, my heart pounding. Crouched down in the dark, I listened in terror as voices and footsteps floated to me from outside. I prayed the shooters wouldn’t find the spirit bear that inhabited this place. When I finally crept back out into the daylight, I found I wasn’t the only target — but the unconscious man lying in a pool of his own blood wasn’t talking. Victim or one of them?

7. Tower [Post-Apocalyptic Fairy Tales 01] by Claire Kent!

She needs a man to keep her alive in a world full of monsters.

He'll do.

Ever since the world fell apart, I've been like a princess trapped in a tower, looking down at our chaotic new reality from an upstairs window and never allowed to risk the dangers outside. Then my father dies, and there's no one left to keep me safe from selfish, violent men no longer restrained by social boundaries.

I need someone, and the leader of the local gang is my best choice.

Rough and intimidating, he's no prince. But Levi agrees to keep me safe, and I do my best to keep him happy. Maybe I want more than a transactional relationship, but the world after Impact doesn't allow for romantic daydreams.

Life is now a gritty fairy tale without a happily ever after.

6. Protected by Claire Kent!

Two years after the world fell apart, I'm entirely alone, a twenty-four-year-old woman scrounging for food and barely surviving. My only choice left is to hook up with a group of roaming scavengers. They're not good people, but it's safer with them than on my own.

Deck immediately makes himself my silent protector. He never speaks, but he doesn't have to. He keeps me alive, and I try to communicate with him. We eventually learn to trust each other.

The world after Impact is rawer and bleaker than what it used to be, and we've lost most of what made life worth living. But maybe we haven't lost everything.

Maybe love still lurks in the ruins.

Colt knows what it’s like to have reporters descend on his town in the wake of a tragedy, and he’s not about to let a fiery podcaster stir up trouble. It doesn’t matter that her haunting blue eyes tell him there’s more to Ridley’s story or that he can’t stop imagining what it would be like to touch her.

But when Ridley’s cold case turns hot and she’s thrust into the crosshairs, Colt has no choice but to step in. Suddenly, Ridley’s living at his house, drinking his whiskey, and stealing his dog’s affections. But she’s also proving that she’s so much more than his first impression.

Teaser & Giveaway: The Legacy of a Lie by Ron Elcombe!

Excerpt!

She turned the radio off as she pulled into the drive-through at the Coffee Stop. The attendant, too perky for the morning hour, wished her a great day and passed a medium coffee with cream but no sugar through the window. Only two meetings were scheduled for the day: the first with her boss at 11:00 a.m. and a division meeting at 1:00. With any luck, she’d escape the office early.
Instead of turning north to I–94 and Saint Paul, the car pulled out of the Coffee-Stop driveway onto the main street and turned south toward Red Wing. Maarit was surprised at the easy merge into the lighter-than-usual highway traffic.
“Why is the sun in my eyes today?” Maarit muttered. “It wasn’t yesterday.” Within a few minutes, where she expected stop lights, stop signs were spaced apart at irregular intervals. Long stretches of unfamiliar road stretched to the horizon. She looked at her watch and frowned. She should have been at work twenty minutes ago. The highway transitioned into a street with no curb or shoulder, then evolved into a narrow gravel road. She tried to turn around, but the car slid off the narrow shoulder into a ditch.
Confusion became fear. The front bumper hit an orange snow fence. The car shuddered. Forward motion ceased. Engine warning lights glowed red throughout the vehicle. Fear became panic. She tried to yell for help, but only a faint whisper escaped her lips. Her head throbbed. Everything blurred. Then, everything went dark as she lost consciousness.

The Legacy of a Lie unravels a web of family secrets when the past resurfaces, threatening everything its keepers tried to protect. At its center is Maarit McDonough Malone, a brilliant yet flawed budding opera singer whose scandalous choices ripple across generations.

Her daughters—Kay, a celebrated mezzo-soprano, and Anna, a self-doubting composer—must confront the emotional fallout of their mother’s long-buried lies. Alongside them are a young, truth-seeking journalist, a lawyer, and a priest, all carrying the weight of secrets they are professionally and morally bound to keep.

Set in the haunting beauty of Minnesota’s river bluffs and Lake Superior’s North Shore, this is a story of legacy and redemption—of truth breaking through the cracks of deception and healing in the wake of generations of silence.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Amaranthine by Delia Strange!

Excerpt!

Marcellus took her hand, his touch warm, and without a word he led her deeper into the olive grove. The trees closed in around them and the world outside the grove disappeared, leaving only the two of them beneath the cover of night. The air smelled faintly of the earth and the lingering sweetness of ripening fruit, but all Amaranthine could focus on was the heat of his hand against hers, the certainty in his steps as he drew her farther away from the villa, away from everything she knew.
When he stopped, she nearly stumbled, caught off guard by the sudden stillness. Marcellus turned to face her, his gaze sweeping over her with an intensity that made her catch her breath. His eyes roamed her face, her body, lingering as though his look could somehow touch her skin. It wasn’t just a glance; it was deeper, heavier.
Slowly, deliberately, Marcellus ran his fingers up her arm, light as a breeze. The touch sent a shiver down her spine, thrilling and delicate all at once. His hand traveled over her shoulder, warm and sure, before brushing against her neck, where her pulse raced beneath his fingertips. He cupped her face, his thumb grazing her cheek as his other hand slid into her hair, gently cradling the back of her neck. The closeness of him—his soft breath against her skin, his scent unfamiliar and intoxicating—made her dizzy.
When he pressed his body against hers, she didn’t hesitate. Amaranthine’s arms wrapped around him as though it was the most natural thing in the world, her fingers curling into the fabric of his tunic. She could feel the heat of him through the thin cloth, the steady rise and fall of his chest, and the thrilling, terrifying anticipation that hovered in the air between them. He leaned in, his lips so close to hers that she could feel the warmth of his breath, and her body instinctively tilted forward, closing the last distance between them.
The kiss began softly, their lips brushing with a delicate hesitance, as though both of them were testing the boundaries of something new. It was sweet, tender, like a whispered secret exchanged in the dark. Amaranthine’s heart fluttered, the warmth of his mouth against hers sending gentle waves of pleasure through her body. Her hands tightened their grip on his tunic, pulling him closer, and for a moment, everything else faded away—her worries, her fears, even the nagging sense of not belonging. Here, in this kiss, she felt connected, as though they shared something deeper than words.
Slowly, almost imperceptibly, the kiss deepened. Marcellus’ arms wrapped around her waist, his hands pressing her closer, and the softness between them gave way to something more intense, more urgent. Passion overtook them both, their lips moving with a fervor that surprised her. Amaranthine had never kissed anyone before, but she felt as though she’d always known how, the way their mouths fit together, the way their breaths mingled in the cool night air. Her heart pounded faster, and a strange heat pooled in her chest, spreading through her veins in a way that made her feel alive.
Then something within her awoke. At first, she didn’t recognize it, mistaking the growing intensity for the natural progression of a kiss. There was a pull, a sensation inside her, almost like the drawing of breath, but deeper, fuller. She thought it was part of the magic of kissing, the way it could make someone feel as though they were floating, untethered from everything. No wonder people kiss, she thought, her mind hazy with the thrill of it. It’s wonderful. She let the sensation sweep over her, unaware of what she was truly doing. But then, after a moment, she noticed something different. Their lips had stopped moving. The rhythm they had found, the tender push and pull, had stilled.
Amaranthine opened her eyes, confused, and pulled back. Her breath caught in her throat. Marcellus staggered away from her, his face ashen, his once bright eyes dull and clouded. He looked gaunt, hollow, as though something had been drained from him. His skin sagged against the bones of his cheeks, and before her eyes, he aged—twenty years, maybe more—his youthful vibrance withering into something frail and brittle. He gasped, his hands reaching out toward her as though for help, but no words came. Then, with a final shuddering breath, Marcellus crumpled to the ground, motionless.

Eternal life comes at a cost

For centuries, Amaranthine has walked through time—an immortal bound by a gift she never asked for. From the opulent halls of the Roman Empire to the decadent jazz clubs of 1920s London, to the futuristic floating city of New Francisco, she has lived countless lives, loved deeply, and lost more than most could ever bear. With each new era comes new faces: lovers, rivals, and those drawn to the mystery of her eternal existence. But immortality comes with a price, and as the world changes, so too does the weight of the centuries she carries.

Torn between living for the future and haunted by the choices of her past, Amaranthine must confront the question that has followed her for an eternity: What does it mean to live forever when everything and everyone else fades away?

Author bio:

An only child with an active imagination, I created many stories in my head. My bookcase was overflowing, and I loved visiting the library. I'd always been a reader, but I hadn't considered writing until a childhood friend said we should write our ideas down. Once I started writing my stories, I couldn't stop.

I gravitated to stories of peculiar places and happenings. I loved twists and dark reveals, so my writing didn't stray far from that. I was a fan of fantasy—of ancient Greek myths or contemporary paranormal stories. They captured my imagination and opened me to worlds of possibilities. There were no constraints on fantasy, no wrong or right answers; anything I dreamed up was acceptable. And then came H. G. Wells and science fiction, which also opened the door to paranormal and speculative fiction, my three favourite genres.
