Review: Connected [Connections 01] by Kim Karr!

Publication date: 23rd March 2013
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle

Rating: 4.5 stars
Synopsis: What if a ‘Once in a Lifetime’ could happen twice?

Suffering from a past full of tragedy, Dahlia London's soul has been left completely shattered. Happily ever after is a far cry from reality in her world. But, when she is reconnected with her past, the bonds that form are irrefutable.

When River Wilde, lead singer of The Wilde Ones, comes back into Dahlia’s life, the intensity that fires their relationship combined with underlying feelings that have never died lead her to believe she has met her soulmate.

Struggling with confusion as old connections fade and new ones begin, Dahlia's grief begins to lift--but guilt remains. River wants to be the one to mend all that is torn within her.

But with a past that is never really gone, can their future survive?

Favourite quote: "Every storm has a last raindrop. Just like the darkness turns to dawn."

I remember reading this book months ago, getting about 40% through it, and then never picking it up again! I know, I know! There was quite a frenzy over how amazing this book was which is why I tried to read it! A few weeks ago I received an email from Kim Karr asking me if I would like to be on the Blog Tour for the next book in the series, Torn! I signed up for a review which meant I had to read this book first! I'm so happy I decided to pick up Connected again though! It was even better the second time around and at several scenes during it I regretted putting it down the first time! The plot of this book was very sad! It had a bright spot to it as well, but for the most part it was sad! It was about a girl trying to come to terms with what she'd been through and trying to move on with her life! The plot was just amazing! Even though it was really sad it really did just blow me away! It was also written over such a long period of time, so it was interesting to see the characters change and to see their feelings for each other grow over time! The characters were even better second time around! Dahlia was such a broken character and through this book the reader gets to see her at her weakest moments! My heart broke for her! To see what she went through and to see her go through all the emotion stages really was heart-breaking! She was a strong person, but she didn't know it! It takes Dahlia most of this book for her to start to let go of her pain and her heartache and attempt to move on! She was an amazing character and I connected really well with her! River was the love interest of Dahlia and he was so hot! Even his name is hot! I loved River as he showed Dahlia that you can have a second chance at love! He showed her that even on your darkest days something will come along and brighten it! All she had to do was have hope! River showed Dahlia all this and so much more! He really was a big support to Dahlia and they made such a hot couple! I'll admit that even though it took me two attempts to read this book that I'm really looking forward to seeing where the next book in the series goes! I know it's going to continue River and Dahlia's story so I'm excited to see where it'll go and luckily I have it sitting next to read on my Kindle! Plus the ending to this book was insane! I didn't see it coming at all! I love that the new cover for this book hasn't been changed a lot! I was a lover of the original cover, so I'm happy they haven't changed it too much! The cover is hot!
