Synopsis:
I’m a pawn, a piece of chattel, a toy--used and forgotten.

When you’re done with me, you can walk away with no regrets. That’s how my husband sees me. I try to be the best wife possible for him. After all, he took me on when no one else would. Now--he’s in debt and owes more money to the loan shark than we can possibly repay.

But, don’t worry, he’s come up with a solution, it’s just not one I was expecting.

...I’ve been TRADED.

I've read a few of this author's books, and I remember really enjoying them! I have no idea why I haven't read all of her books lol, but I was informed about this book from the author and it sounded so dark and very intriguing, so I signed up to review it for the Blog Tour, even though the synopsis doesn't tell you much lol! I'm so glad I did sign up to review this book because I loved it! It had me intrigued right from the start and I found myself reading a few more chapters every chance I got! The plot was seriously hot and had a bit of suspense to it, but it was mostly about a woman breaking free from an abusive relationship and being shown what a real relationship is supposed to be like! I just loved the plot and it developed at the perfect pace! There were plenty of hot scenes too! I wasn't expecting quite as many as there were in the book, but they were all really hot lol! Overall, I loved the plot and it did surprise me at points! The characters were also amazing! Elena was the main character, and she was someone that was in a relationship with a guy that she had known for most of her life! The problem was that she was being emotionally abused in the relationship! My heart completely went out to Elena because nobody should be treated like she was by someone that was supposed to support her and love her! Elena's husband was a complete ass to her and it was disgusting and very degrading! Elena came a long way in this book though, and she became a lot stronger and confident! It was amazing to read because she deserved to be happy! Ashton was the main male character, and love interest of Elena! Ashton was a dark, brooding and very dangerous guy, but he was also very caring and had such a loving side to him, which came out more as he spent more and more time with Elena! I could also see that he had really deep feelings for Elena, and she made him question a lot about what he really wanted in his life and about his career choice! Ashton was seriously hot too! I loved him, and although he was involved in illegal work, I had a lot of respect for him! He worked hard and he had a a really good relationship with his family! I loved that this book was written from both Elena and Ashton's point of view! It made the plot even better and it allowed for more things to happen! It helped me connect more with both characters too! I can completely understand why this book is a standalone, but I'm kind of upset that it is lol! Everything in the plot was wrapped up though, and all the questions raised were answered! The ending was also left at a really good and satisfying place! I'm definitely going to read this author's other books that I haven't read yet too and I can't wait to see what she releases next! The cover for this book is stunning! I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it and it suits the book perfectly! Big thank you to The Hype PR for having me on the Blog Tour and to Rebecca for an ARC of Traded!
