Synopsis: A forbidden age gap stand-alone from small-town romance author Brooke Montgomery about a daring horse trainer and her off-limits ex-boyfriend’s dad…
When we met at the rodeo, I only knew his first name.
Sparks ignited between us, and we spent an unforgettable night together.
It's not until the morning after when I recognize his last name do I realize who he is.
So I do what any rational woman would and make the walk of shame while he sleeps. It's not like I'll ever see him again or have to explain why I left.
But I'm proven wrong when he shows up at my family's ranch as the new farrier.
We can't be more than friends—for many reasons.
He's twice my age, workplace relationships are off-limits, and he moved back to rebuild a relationship with his son—the one I used to date.
Getting involved would ruin everything.
As we struggle between right and wrong, our connection deepens even though his traumatic past makes him doubt he deserves a second chance.
But it doesn't matter when everything's against us, including a rival who's out to get me and my ex who's determined to win me back.
After a riding trick goes wrong on his watch, he insists on taking care of me. Even though the odds are stacked against us, we keep the truth to ourselves.
But secrets don't stay hidden for long in a Southern small town.
I’ve read quite a few of this author’s books that she wrote under Brooke Cumberland and enjoyed them, so I was excited to find out that she was releasing more books! I received an ARC of this book, so I read the free prequel book and then moved onto this one! After reading, I can say that I enjoyed this book! I will admit that it took me a longer than I was expecting to read, but the plot kept me intrigued and wanting to read on and find out what was going to happen next! There was a lot of romance in the plot and it was an age gap romance! There actually weren’t as many steamy scenes as I was expecting, but I actually preferred this because I tend to skim steamy scene if there’s too many lol! There was also some action and suspense, which added to the plot and changed things for the characters! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Noah was the main female character, and I loved her in this book! She was funny, could look after herself, and she loved her job! Noah also worked hard and she was a little vixen at times, which her love interest definitely brought out in her lol! Fisher was the main male character and love interest of Noah! My heart went out to Fisher in this book because he had lost so much and it still had a big impact on him! Fisher was a hard worker as well and he deserved to be happy and to be loved! Fisher also cared a lot about Noah and their relationship was difficult because of certain circumstances, but the two of them deserved to be happy! This book was written from both Noah and Fisher’s point of views! I was sort of expecting it to be because the prequel book was written from dual point of view! The synopsis does give the impression the it might only be written from the female character’s point of view, so I’m really happy that Fisher’s point of view was included as well! It helped me connect more with both characters and see their feelings for each other develop! It allowed for more things to happen in the plot as well, which helped as Noah and Fisher didn’t spend every second of the plot together and they went through some situations by themselves! The ending of this book was also left at the perfect place for the characters! I now can’t wait to read the next book in this series! I enjoyed this book and I’m excited to read the other characters stories! I know that the next book is releasing in January, which isn’t that long of a wait and I’m looking forward to reading the characters story as they were secondary characters in this book! The cover for this book is also stunning! I loved it as soon as I saw it and the cover models are the perfect Noah and Fisher! I love how well it suits the cover for the prequel book as well! Big thank you to Brooke and Indie Pen PR for an ARC of Here With Me!
