"Dance with me, princess?"
The world faded until there was nothing but us.
"Okay," I murmured.
As I placed my hand in his, and his long fingers curled around mine, the music seemed to swell. His other hand went to my waist, mine to his shoulder. His cheek pressed lightly against the side of my forehead. My body seemed to fit against his perfectly. And we moved, swayed, became the music together in a way I never had with another person. I closed my eyes, wanting more than anything to memorize this moment, to lock it away in my mind, to remember him, us just like this.
On that dance floor, there was no faking.
I allowed myself to feel every second.
Felix didn't say a word. Neither did I. We didn't have to.
Because with every heartbeat, every breath, every flex of our fingers, every brush of his lips against my cheek as he nuzzled closer, we understood each other. We were two hearts beating as one. In perfect harmony.
