Cover Reveal & Giveaways: Walking Heartbreak by Sunniva Dee!

Don’t judge me.
I am not what you see.
I am the opposite.
—Nadia’s lipstick note on Bo’s mirror.

Indie-rocker Bo Lindgren is worshiped for his looks and musical genius. It’s been lonely at the top since his ex left. Bo will never take a girlfriend again though, because he doesn’t have the chops to love. He knows he’s poison, a heartbreak waiting to happen for anyone he allows too close—like his ex. Bo screws his way through the fangirls until he’s sick of it all. Until the dark gaze of Nadia Vidal appears in the door to his dressing room.

Saved from an arranged marriage by Jude, the love of her life, Nadia eloped and got married at nineteen. But now, two years later, life is wilted, dead, and not what anyone should have to endure.

Nadia, with her secret-keeper eyes and instant understanding of who Bo is, attracts and fascinates him without even trying. The ring gleaming on her finger should keep them apart, but morals can’t always resist destiny.

When brokenhearted meets heartbreaker, whose heart is really at stake?

The United States finally kept her interest, and after half a decade in California, she now lounges in the beautiful city of Savannah. Sunniva has a Master's degree in Spanish, which she taught until she settled in as an adviser at an art college in the South.

Sunniva writes New Adult fiction with soul. Sometimes it's with a paranormal twist, like in Shattering Halos, Stargazer, and Cat Love. At other times, it's contemporary, as in Pandora Wild Child, Leon's Way, Adrenaline Crush, and now Walking Heartbreak.

Sunniva is the happiest when her characters take over, let their emotions run off with them, shaping her stories in ways she never foresaw. She loves bad-boys and good-boys run amok, and like in real life, her goal is to keep you on your toes until the end of each story.

Release Blitz & Giveaway: Surviving Ice [Burying Water 04] by K.A. Tucker!

The USA TODAY bestselling author of the Ten Tiny Breaths series and Burying Water—which Kirkus Reviews called “a sexy, romantic, gangster-tinged page-turner”—returns with a new novel packed with romance, plot twists, and psychological suspense.

Ivy Lee, a talented tattoo artist who spent the early part of her twenties on the move, is looking for a place to call home. She thinks she might have finally found it working in her uncle’s tattoo shop in San Francisco. But all that changes when a robbery turns deadly, compelling her to pack up her things yet again.

When they need the best, they call him. That’s why Sebastian Riker is back in California, cleaning up the mess made after a tattoo shop owner with a penchant for blackmail got himself shot. But it’s impossible to get the answers he needs from a dead body, leaving him to look elsewhere. Namely, to the twenty-something-year-old niece who believes this was a random attack. Who needs to keep believing that until Sebastian finds what he’s searching for.

Ivy has one foot out of San Francisco when a chance encounter with a stranger stalls her departure. She’s always been drawn to intense men, so it’s no wonder that she now finds a reason to stay after all, quickly intoxicated by his dark smile, his intimidating strength, and his quiet control.

That is, until Ivy discovers that their encounter was no accident—and that their attraction could be her undoing.

Review: Power Play [Risky Business 01] by Tiffany Snow!

Publication date: 30th June 2015
Paperback edition: 352 pages
Source: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 stars
Synopsis: THIS KIND OF BUSINESS CAN ONLY BE PERSONAL

Sage Reese lives for her job. More precisely, she lives for her debonair boss, Parker Andersen. Sage handles everything for Parker, even as she fantasizes about the one thing that isn't in her job description: him. But when a high-stakes account crosses the line from shady to deadly, a tough cop starts giving Sage the attention she wishes Parker would . . .

Detective Dean Ryker couldn't be more different from Parker. While Parker wears expensive suits like a second skin and drives a BMW, Ryker's uniform is leather jackets and jeans . . . and his ride of choice is a Harley. While Parker's sexiness is a reserved, slow burn, Ryker is completely upfront about what-and who-he's after. And Sage tops his list.

Now, as Ryker digs deeper into the dark side of Parker's business, Sage finds herself caught between two men: the one she's always wanted-and the one who makes her feel wanted like never before . . .

I'm a really big fan of this author, and I've loved her other books that I've read, so I couldn't wait for this book to release so that I could read it! I grabbed a copy of it as soon as the ebook released in July and started reading it straightaway! I was then recently contacted by the UK publisher about reviewing this book for them! I really enjoyed this book, so I said instantly said yes and received a paperback from them! The plot had some suspense, a bit of action, and a love triangle in it, which is everything that I love in the plot of a book! Well, maybe not a love triangle lol, but who can say no to two hot guys, right? ;) The plot of this book was amazing! I had such a hard time putting it down once I started reading and I finished it in a few sittings! It did keep me intrigued as I wasn't quite sure where it was going to go! It also had some twist and turns in it that made me really unsure as to where the plot could go lol! Overall, I really enjoyed the plot and I loved the amount of romance in it! The characters were also amazing! Sage was the main character, and she was someone who was sort of dragged into the danger in this book! She did kind of put herself in danger at some points too though! I liked Sage, like really liked her, but I wish she hadn't rushed about after one of her love interests so much! I mean, I understood that he was her boss and it was her job, but I'm pretty sure she wasn't on call 24/7 and that she was entitled to a break! I wished she had stood up for herself a little bit more! She did become more fiery as the book progressed though, which I liked! I could also see that Sage had genuine feelings for both her love interests, and I liked that she didn't really play them both off against each other! As I mentioned above, there was a love triangle in this book! The love triangle was between Sage and her two love interests, Parker and Ryker! I honestly couldn't pick between both guys! I felt like I was slightly more Team Ryker though, as he was more open with Sage, even though he did hide a few things from her! I didn't think that any of the guys really deserved a relationship with Sage to be honest at the start of this book lol! Ryker was kind of just using Sage to get information on Parker, and then Parker was hiding a lot of things from Sage! It was weird because I don't think I've read a love triangle like it before lol! I did start to respect both guys more as the book progressed and they started being honest! Both guys were seriously hot too! I can't wait to read the next book in this series! I'm really happy that I don't have to wait too long for it to release! I would be on pins and needles for it! Well, I guess I will be until I have a copy lol! The ending of this book wasn't left at a huge cliff-hanger though, so I should be okay until then lol! I did love where the book ended! The cover for this book would definitely draw me to it! I love it as the UK cover and the US cover is seriously hot too, so I love that one too! Big thank you to Piatkus for a review copy of Power Play!

Release Day Blitz & Giveaway: Reckless Abandon by Jeannine Colette!

Excerpt!

Slowly at first, I let my fingers push down on the keys. I close my eyes and my hands dance. I play a melody that pops in my head. It’s not one I know, it’s one that is just playing. The piano is not my instrument. If I ever played, and it was so very rare, it was like this. Just a little melody from inside my head.
Using both hands, I play a few chords and let them harmonize with one another. The sound is nice and I’m slightly surprised by that. I feel my lips tip up and my head falls to the side as the music takes over me.
It’s unexpected how good it feels to play. My fingers move faster and my hands travel up and down the length of the piano, playing sequences I haven’t heard in so long.
The wooden case surrounding the soundboard and metal strings vibrates and hums with each stroke of my fingers. The percussion resonates in my heart until the pain in my chest settles back in, causing me to slow down. I remove my hands from the keys and let my head fall forward.
This felt good but it’s not for me. It will never make me feel whole again.
Letting the air puff out from my lips, I swallow, then lift my head to rise and go back to finding Devon.
But when I look up, I startle.
Standing in the center of the room is a man. He is tall and commanding. His face is serious and tense by the look of his square jaw and stern brows. A straight nose and full lips are accented by light hair and bronzed skin. His body is well built, broad at the top and narrow at the waist.
And if there’s one thing I notice it’s his piercing gaze.
So piercing because of golden eyes.
You know how yesterday I said the view of Capri was the most beautiful sight I had ever seen in my life?
   I take that back.
He is the most beautiful thing I have ever, without a doubt, seen in my entire life.

A heart-wrenching breakup, an accident… a loss.
Stretching out my right hand, I am reminded of the worst year of my life and all the dreams that faded in one awful weekend.
For six months I was numb.
And then I met a man.
An intense, complex, emotion extracting, sinful man.
If there's one thing I notice it’s the piercing gaze he is giving me.
So piercing because of Golden Eyes.
But what my heart doesn’t know…is he here to save me or is he the one who needs saving?

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Deranged [Ivy Hollow Chronicles 01] by Niko McQueen!

Excerpt!

Emily didn’t meet his stare, and didn’t say a word, just pulled Bobby’s door shut and trailed behind her cart. Adam didn’t know anything about her, didn’t know which side she was playing for, didn’t know if there even were sides, but an uneasy feeling clung to his skin like there were layers upon layers to Ivy Hollow and her inhabitants. Emily was nearly a dozen feet away before Adam noticed the shadow lurking in the alcove a few feet from Bobby’s door. Christian nearly melted into the darkness, his dark hair cascading down his shoulders and covering half his face.
Adam didn’t want to be drawn into his mesmerizing beauty . . . didn’t want to acknowledge that something inside him craved more of Christian. His fingers clenched into tight fists until his nails bit into his palms. He wasn’t attracted to Christian, he’d only been mistaken because he’d thought he was a girl. Even now, his features were so delicately feminine and a fragility hugged his body with the perfection of this year’s labels. As Adam’s gaze roamed over Christian, he tried to find something repulsive, but he felt like he was seeing Christian through someone else’s eyes. The curve of his jaw, the set of his chin, the graceful line of his neck . . . the shadow draped over his shoulders like a velvet cloak . . . the slender tilt of his chest as it tailored to his thin hips. Adam swallowed as his gaze drifted lower, side to side from the glowing white skin of his long fingers resting gently on his hips, across his waist, and lower.
Lower across the undeniable bulge in his tight, black jeans.
Adam’s own cock thickened and he jerked. His eyes flew upward to clash with Christian’s and when his lips curved upward in a smile, Adam glared and stomped down the hall to catch up with Emily.
Fuck this place, he thought. And fuck whatever they’re putting in the damn water.

Adam Rossmore is a rich party boy who doesn’t answer to anyone. He’s played the orphan card for too long and it’s gotten him out of every DUI, arrest, and fine.

Until now.

When a judge slaps him with community service at the insane asylum, Ivy Hollow, Adam thinks it’s all a joke. Until the doors lock and he starts meeting the residents.

Christian Hale has lived at Ivy Hollow his entire life. He seeks solace in his music—and whatever orderly happens to be nearby.
When Adam hears Christian play the piano for the first time, the music draws him deep into Christian’s web and he must fight an arousal that is both confusing and exciting.

Review: From the Wreckage by Melissa Collins!

Publication date: 21st October 2015
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle

Rating: 5 stars
Synopsis: First, he saved me.
I lived because he was a hero.
And then he was gone.
Uprooted by the fire that destroyed our home, my family moved away and I never saw David Andrews again.
Then, he found me.
Eighteen years later, he rescued me again - in much simpler terms, of course. By loving me, by giving me the fairy tale I’d always hoped for, he provided me with the perfect life.
Now, he needs to be saved.
It’s my turn to be strong, to be brave, to be valiant.
When flames threaten to turn us to ashes, it’s up to me to pull us From the Wreckage.

I think that the reason the author wrote this book is a very beautiful and wonderful tribute to her uncle who sadly perished during the 9/11 attacks! I've also read a few of this author's other books and enjoyed them, so I was looking forward to reading this one! It also sounded amazing and the cover is seriously hot! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book and I started it as soon as I could! I was really excited to start it! I loved this book! Like, really loved it! It developed at the perfect pace and the romance in it was very beautiful! There were some seriously hot scenes too! I also read this book in a few sittings because I couldn't put it down lol! There were also a few twist and turns to keep the plot interesting too! There was a big plot twist that I really didn't see coming! It really changed the plot and the characters, but it also showed how fragile life is and that you should live it to its fullest! The two main characters definitely did after the incident! The characters were just as amazing as the plot! Grace 'Gracie' was the main female character, and she was someone who had been through a traumatic and life threatening experience with her family when she was younger! Grace had come so far though, and although she still had nightmares about that night, she had a really good job and she was always there for her love interest! I just had so much respect for her! She was so easy for me to connect with and she always tried to look at the positives and not the negatives! Grace also went through a lot with her love interest, but she never gave up on him and their love for each other! David was the main male character, and love interest of Grace! David was the hero in this book, and he was some hero! I just had so much respect for him and he worked a dangerous and demanding job, but I could see that he loved it! David was also seriously hot and I could see that he had really deep feelings for Grace! His feelings for Grace developed more and more as the plot progressed, and it was very beautiful to read! David also went through a lot in this book in maybe the last 25% of it, and this changed David a lot and it affected his relationship with Grace! My heart completely went out to David when he went through this really difficult time, but he was just amazing! I loved that this book was written from both Grace and David's point of views! It made the plot even better and it allowed for more things to happen! It also helped me connect more with both characters too! I can completely understand why this book is a standalone! Everything was resolved and the ending was also very, very beautiful! I can't wait to see what this author is going to release next too! I'm definitely going to be reading it! The cover for this book is also absolutely stunning! I loved it as soon as I saw it and I knew it was going to suit the book perfectly! It really does suit the story behind it! Big thank you to Melissa for an ARC of From the Wreckage!

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Roped In [Armed & Dangerous 02] by L.P. Dover!

Publication date: 19th October 2015Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 5 stars
Synopsis: Who says a wild heart can’t be tamed?

For years, I lived for the job and let it control me. Violence was all I knew. I protected, killed, and served. My name is Blake Evans, one of the best undercover cops in the country. I thought I was about to live a quiet life on my ranch in Wyoming until an old friend showed up and changed everything. He brought me her, Hadley Rivers, country music sensation and the one woman I couldn't have. I didn't want her but she had me completely roped in.

My job is to protect her, to keep her away from some psycho who wants her for himself. However, there's more to her story than I was led to believe. I promised to keep her safe and I won't back down . . . even if I have to die trying. I can't let him have her.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series, so I couldn't wait to read this book, even though I knew it didn't have anything to do with the first book lol! The synopsis sounded amazing and the cover is seriously hot! I received an ARC as part of the Blog Tour and I squealed when I opened it lol! I started reading this book as soon as I could and devoured it in a few sittings! I freaking loved it! The plot was also absolutely amazing! I thought I knew where it was going, but then the author would add a twist or a turn that would completely turn the plot around lol! I love it when a plot does that because it keeps you on your toes and leaves you wanting to read on and find out what's going to happen next! There was also plenty of action, suspense and romance in the plot too! There were a few really hot scenes too! There maybe weren't as many hot scenes as I would have liked lol, but the few that were in there were really hot! The characters were just as amazing as the plot! Hadley was the main female character, and she was someone that was well-known in the media spotlight as she was a famous country singer! This also put Hadley in a lot of danger, and she was in a lot of danger in this book! She also went through a lot, but she was really strong and she stood up for herself and didn't give up! I just loved Hadley! She was so down to earth and easy for me to connect with! She was also funny at times and put her love interest through his paces! Some of the things she made him do were very funny lol! Blake was the main male character and love interest of Hadley! Blake was one of the best undercover cops around, which is how he came to meet Hadley! Blake was assigned to watch over Hadley and keep her safe from the threats around her! Blake was a complete ass to Hadley at the start of this book, but he judged her as being stuck-up and posh before he got to know her! I didn't like that Blake did this, but I could understand why he did! He needed to Blake was also hot! Like, seriously hot lol! I just loved him! He was also perfect book boyfriend material! I loved how protective he was of Hadley too! I loved that this book was written from both Hadley and Blake's point of views! It made the plot even better and allowed for more to happen in it! It also helped me connect more with the two main characters too! The ending was also left at the perfect place! I loved that some characters from this author's Gloves Off series made brief appearances in this book too! I can't wait to read the next book in this series! Well, I hope there's more books to come lol! I've loved the first two books, so I can't wait to see how the next book is hopefully going to play out and I can't wait to find out whose book its going to be! The cover for this book is seriously hot! I loved it as soon as I saw it and it suits the book perfectly! The model on the front is also the perfect Blake too! Big thank you to L.P. Dover for an ARC of Roped In and to Enticing Journey Book Promotions for having me on the Blog Tour!

UK Blog Tour: The Twelve Dates of Christmas by Lisa Dickenson‏!

Publication date: 22nd October 2015
Paperback edition: 384 pages

Source: Paperback
Rating: 4 stars
Synopsis: At thirty, Claudia's life is stale and the romance with long-term boyfriend, Seth, has disappeared. Determined to inject some festive spark back into their love life, Claudia and Seth go on their first date in a very long time. But when the night ends in disaster, Claudia suddenly finds herself facing life - and Christmas - alone.

Life alone is exciting, scary and full of soon-forgotten exercise regimes and ill-advised attempts at crafting sexy underwear. It's also filling up with dates, surprisingly. With best friends Penny and Nick at her side, a surplus of festive markets, mulled wine and Christmas tunes, Claudia attempts to face all this change with gusto. One thing's for certain: this year, Christmas is going to be very different . . .

This is the story of Claudia and her twelve dates of Christmas. Hilarious, uplifting and romantic, it's a story about losing love, finding love, and discovering what's been there all along. Expect Christmas sparkle, butterflies-in-your-stomach romance and a lot of very funny moments in The Twelve Dates of Christmas.

I'll be honest and say that I hadn't heard of this book until the UK publisher emailed me and asked me if I would like to review it and be on the UK Blog Tour! I was a little hesitant at first because this book didn't sound like my typical kind of read and I don't think that I've actually read a Christmas book before lol, but I said yes pretty quickly to reviewing it! I'm so happy I did say yes because I enjoyed this book! I loved the way it was set out too! It was told in twelve different stages as the main character went on twelve different dates! It was very interesting and it didn't have a load of unnecessary scenes in it, which made it flow really well! The plot also held my interest and only took my like three sittings to get through! I loved it and it's actually made me want to take more of a chance on Christmas books, because as I said, I don't think I've read a Christmas book before until this one lol!  also loved the ending to this book! The characters were also awesome! Claudia was the main character, and she was a very humorous and lovely character! I loved how funny she was! She was funny in awkward and embarrassing situations, and this made it easy for me to connect with her! She was a straight talker too and she stood up for herself! She also had such bad luck with love, but I could see that it was the one thing she really wanted in life! Claudia wanted to find Prince Charming and live happily ever after with him, and her Prince Charming was right beside her the full time in this book, but this book was about Claudia realising this and admitting her real feelings for him! I would say that Nick was the main love interest of Claudia in this book, even though there were a few other guys in the mix as Claudia went out on a few dates with other guys! Nick had always been there for Claudia and he was one of her closest friends! I could also see that Nick really liked Claudia, but he wasn't sure how to handle his feelings for her! Nick was also seriously cute lol, and I loved the way he was with Claudia! He was protective of her, but he tried to give her space for herself! There was a bit in this book where I lost some respect for Nick, but then I found out what really happened and it all made sense lol! I love Nick and he made a good couple with Claudia! I can completely understand why this book is a standalone! Everything in the plot was resolved and the ending was also perfect and Claudia got what she always wanted and found her Prince Charming! I also can't wait to check out this author's other series' and give them a read too! I hope the main characters are similar to Claudia lol! The UK cover for this book suits is so well! It maybe wouldn't make me pick the book up if I saw it in a book shop or something like that, because it isn't my typical kind of read, but I really like it! Big thank you to Sphere for an early copy of The Twelve Dates of Christmas for review and for having me on the UK Blog Tour!

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Portia [Angelbound Offspring 02] by Christina Bauer!

Excerpt!

   I am so late.
My heart beats at double speed while I rush up the staircase to the Ryder mansion. After pulling open the fancy wooden door, I step inside a large and empty foyer. Well, it’s almost empty.
The President of Purgatory is waiting for me. Not good.
Even worse, her mouth is pressed into a thin and frustrated line. No question why she’s unhappy. My lecture on Magic Across The After-Realms should’ve started twenty minutes ago.
“Portia, you’re finally here,” she sighs. “We were getting frantic.”
The President’s known for being tough on crime, graft, and well, everything really. But she’s also my grandmother. When it comes to family, Gram’s a softie who worries like crazy. I should know, being a softie myself. I give her a quick peck on the cheek. “So sorry, Gram. I got caught up.”
Gram’s tail sways warily over her right shoulder. No shock, there. Every quasi-demon in Purgatory has a tail. Gram’s variety is long and black with an arrowhead-shaped end and a mind of its own. Currently, that mind totally suspects that I’m up to something.
   Good suspicion, actually.
“What are you working on this time?” asks Gram. “Is it dangerous magic? Please tell me you’re being safe.”
“No, it’s not dangerous at all,” I say.
   Which isn’t entirely true.
My cheeks redden with guilt, but I can’t exactly admit that I was up all night trying to track Void demons by casting spells with an enchanted canopic jar. It’s super-tricky stuff. I could’ve ended up with a Void demon in my living room, and I’m not what you call battle-hardy.

Unlike her famous older brother Maxon, Princess Portia isn't known for killing demons or attracting admirers. The reason why is simple: a spell was cast on Portia, and the magic has marked her to one day transform into a dreaded Void demon. To fight this horrible fate, Portia’s spent her life hiding in libraries and learning magic. But when the Void demons threaten to destroy all the after-realms—and the handsome dragon Emperor Tempest offers his help—then Portia suspects that her future holds more than just a demonic metamorphosis. Fate is calling the bookworm princess onto the battlefield, and it’s a fight against both deadly enemies and her heart’s desires.

May be read as a stand-alone.

Cover Reveal & Giveaway: The Lies and Truth Duet Box Set by Rachael Duncan!

Marry for money.
This has been my motto. A motto that was drilled into my head at a young age. It’s who I am. Who I’m expected to be. All of that changes when he walks into my life.
I can’t lie.
I can’t hide.
I can’t deceive.
As my personal security guard, he sees through me and makes me second guess everything. I can’t escape him or the way he makes me feel. He makes me smile. He makes me want more from life.
Can I sacrifice those who depend on me for my own happiness?
I’m Elizabeth Fitzgerald.
I’m a Senator’s wife.
And I hate my life.

Keep it professional.
I had one job to do, and falling for Elizabeth Fitzgerald was not it. Being former Special Forces, I’m no stranger to fighting, but this is different. This is personal. The stakes feel much higher and the struggle to save her will be my most challenging mission yet.
But I have a secret. A secret that threatens to tear apart everything we’ve built.
You know me as Alex Matthews.
My mistake was getting involved with her, knowing what was on the line.
Their mistake was taking me away from her.
