I've read this author's zombie series, The Contagium, and I loved that series, so I wanted to read more from her! I also know that she already has some contemporary books out, but I haven't read them yet! I then received an email about a Blog Tour for this book, and the cover wasn't revealed yet, but the synopsis sounded amazing and my kind of read, so I signed up to review it! I then saw the cover, which really made me want to read the book! I loved this book! It was full of darkness and light and it was about two characters coming to terms with what they had been through and teaching each other how to live again! The plot was amazing! I loved it and it there were a few hot scenes in it too! The plot also developed at a really good pace and the relationship development between the two main characters was so beautiful! The plot had a few twists in it too! This book also made me laugh, cry, and grin like a complete idiot lol! I went through a whole different range of emotions whilst reading it! The characters were also amazing! Haley was the main female character, and she lost the most important person in her life at the beginning of this book! This instantly made me feel sorry for Haley and connect with her! This book was about Haley coming to terms with her mother's death and about starting to live again! Haley also did so much good in her life and she rescued horses and she gave them a better and safe home! She had so much worry as well because she had mounting bill and she worked so hard to try and keep everything together! She was an amazing character and I had so much respect for her! She was so nice and friendly too! Aiden was the main male character, and he was a famous film star, so I expected him to be quite arrogant and maybe a little rude, and I have to say that he was at times, but he was also thrust into the media spotlight and he was dealing with a lot! Aiden also had a lot of demons in him, and it did take quite a bit of this book to find out what those demons were, but my heart completely went out to him when I found out what he had been through growing up! It helped me understand why he drank so much and took pills! Aiden came a long way in this book though, and Haley taught him so much! Haley taught him to appreciate life and to cherish the important things in life! I loved that this book was written from both Haley and Aiden's point of views! It really helped me connect more with both characters and it let more things happen in the plot as both characters went through a lot separately! I also know that this book is a standalone, which I can completely understand because the ending was beautiful, but I'm really excited that there's going to be a few prequel books! I'm definitely going to be reading them when they release! The cover for this book is stunning! It suits the book perfectly too and I loved it as soon as I saw it!
