I read the first two books in this series, but I have to be honest and say that I couldn't really remember what had happened in them! I know that this series can be read as standalones, but it does recommend that you read the second book before reading this book! I did go back and re-read the last few chapters of the second book before starting this book, but I didn't really have to because I was able to understand everything in this book as I read it lol! The plot developed at the perfect pace and it did keep me intrigued! I was always wanting to find out more and see what was going to happen next! The plot also had a few surprises in it, but there wasn't any action or suspense! I did miss some action and suspense, but there were some other things going on in the plot! There were some seriously hot scenes between the two main characters too and they were really, really hot! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Maddox was the main male character and he was a secondary character in the other books in this series, so I couldn't wait to read his story! I loved Maddox in this book! He was seriously hot, and yes he did do some things wrong when it came to his relationship with his love interest at the beginning, but he definitely made up for it lol! Maddox also learnt a lot in this book and he learned what was important in his in his life! Lacey was the main female character and love interest of Maddox! Lacey was quite a scared character in this book and she was scared of commitment, especially with Maddox! I didn't really understand why Lacey wouldn't commit to Maddox, but he was a bit of a womaniser and a bit of an ass in the other books in this series! I loved Lacey in this book! She worked hard to make a good career for herself and she achieved so much and came a long way! I loved that this book was written from both Maddox and Lacey's point of views! I was hoping that it was going to be because the other books in this series have been written from both characters point of views! It helped me connect more with both characters, especially since both characters spent some time apart and it allowed for more things to happen in the plot too! I'm also not sure if there's going to be more books in this series! There wasn't any mention of another book at the end of this book and I can't see anything on Goodreads! I really hope that there's more books because there's still some characters that haven't had their stories told! I still can't wait to see what this author is going to release next and I'll definitely be reading it regardless! The cover for this book is also seriously hot! I love how well it suits the book and the cover model is the perfect Maddox! I love how well the cover suits the other covers in the series too! Big thank you to L.P.
