Release Day Blitz, Review & Giveaway: God of Monsters [Juniper Unraveling 04] by Keri Lake!

Publication date: 22nd September 2020
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 5 stars
Synopsis: I’ve heard stories about the Alphas. Violent soldiers, bred to kill both humans and mutations, whose sole purpose was to balance our survival against the infected.

Until they turned on their masters.

Held as subjects of the Calico research facility, they were forced to endure the gruesome experiments that transformed them into callous savages with hearts as impenetrable as their defenses. More terrifying than the monsters that decimated our world with disease and famine.

In the aftermath of Calico’s collapse, many of the Alphas fled, only to be hunted by our own Legion army. And in their absence, the balance has shifted.

I thought they no longer existed.
Until I met him, the god of monsters.
Now I don’t believe in the stories anymore.

To fall in love with the unyielding heart of an Alpha is said to be impossible.

But to fall in love with a god would be a tragedy.

I read the other three books in this series near the end of last year and I fell in love with each book and all the characters! I have to be honest and say that I thought that the third book was the final book, so I was really happy when I got to the end of the third book and a fourth book was announced! I very patiently waited for this book and squealed when I got an ARC! After reading, I can say that this book was everything I wanted and more! The plot did start in a direction that I wasn't expecting, but it gripped me and made me desperate to find out what was going to happen next! I also loved the romance between the two main characters and that it actually took a while for a relationship to start between them! There was also plenty of action and suspense in the plot and it just got better and better! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Thalia was the main female character, and in this book my heart went out to her because she was passed from one dangerous person to the next and she really wasn't sure how to handle it all! Thalia was a strong character though and she learned a lot about defending herself and how strong she could really be! I loved Thalia and I loved watching her grow in this book! She stood up to her love interest as well and helped him a lot! Titus was the main male character and love interest of Thalia! Titus was in some of the other books in this series, so I couldn't wait to read his story and see what happened next for him! I felt for Titus in this book because he wasn't in control and he wanted to be free! Titus was also kick-ass and he could look after himself! He had been through a lot as well! I also loved Titus with Thalia! They did play off each other well and they had a lot of love for each other! This book was mainly written from Thalia's point of view, but the prologue and epilogues were written from Titus's point of view! I was kinda expecting this because the other books were written from the female characters point of views! I loved that the majority of this book was written from Thalia's point of view because she went through a lot on her own, but I would have loved to have went inside Titus's head a bit more because was such a complex character! I'm really sad that this book is a standalone because I loved the characters, but the ending was left at the perfect place for the characters and it summed up their story and showed how far they had come! It also wrapped everything up! I'm really happy that the author is planning to write more standalone books with a similar genre to this series! This is the first adult dystopian series that I've read and it's one of my favourite series', so I can't wait to read more books! I'm not sure of a date for more books, but I'll definitely be anticipating the next book's release and I can't wait to read more books from this author as well! I've read a few of her books, so I can't wait to read more! The cover for this book is also seriously hot! I loved it as soon as I saw it and I love how well it suits the other covers for the series! It would definitely draw me to the book as well if I hadn't already read the other books lol!
