Blog Tour & Giveaway: The Wreckage of Us by Brittainy Cherry!

Publication date: 8th September 2020
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 stars
Synopsis: Never in a million years did I think it would be Ian Parker who saved me...

I know I should stay away from Ian Parker.

But when my drug-dealing stepdad kicks me out, I have nowhere to go. Squatting in an abandoned shed on Ian’s grandpa’s farm seems like as good a plan as any.

Ian finds me there, of course, and he insists on me moving into his spare room. I should say no, but the appeal of a roof and a warm bed is too much. Not to mention Ian’s brown eyes and strong arms.

We’re nothing alike, but the spark between us is undeniable. My life is finally looking up.

Until I call the cops on my stepdad and unintentionally get my pregnant mom arrested.

Now I have to sacrifice my dreams to take care of my mom’s baby. She’s the only family I have left. Meanwhile, Ian’s band is taking off; his dreams are coming true.

Ian is my one chance at love. I just hope he doesn’t become the one chance that got away.

I have to admit that this is the first book that I've read from this author, even though I've had some of her books on my Kindle for years! I received an email from the publisher about this book and I was intrigued by the synopsis and cover, so I decided to give it a read! I'm really happy that I did because I really enjoyed this book! The plot was developed at a nice pace and I found myself enjoying it more as it progressed! There was also a tiny bit of action and suspense in plot, but I wasn't expecting a lot because I knew that the main focus was going to be on the characters and the changes in their lives! The plot also dealt with a lot of emotion and growth for both main characters and they really did grow a lot! I also loved the relationship development between the main characters and there were a few seriously hot scenes as well! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Hazel was the main female character, and in this book my heart completely went out to her because she was treated horribly from the people that were supposed to love her and she felt alone! I also admired Hazel in this book because she worked very hard and she wanted to provide for herself! Hazel also took on a lot of responsibility in this book and this did change a lot for her, but I don't think Hazel regretted a second of it! Ian was the main male character and love interest of Hazel! Ian had goals in this book and he really wanted to achieve them to get out of the town that he grew up in! Ian was a complete ass to Hazel at the beginning of this book and he treated her horribly! He then got to know Hazel and he realised that they were more alike than he initially thought! Ian also got to achieve his goals in this book, but I loved that Hazel was never far from his mind and it was easy to see how much he loved her! I loved that this book was written from both Hazel and Ian's point of views! I wasn't expecting it to be because the synopsis makes it sound like it's only going to be written from the female character's point of view! I'm really happy that it was written from both characters point of views because it helped me connect more with Hazel and Ian and understand how they were both feeling! It allowed for a lot more things to happen in the plot as well, which made sense because Hazel and Ian did go through situations separately and they spent time apart! I can also completely understand why this book is a standalone! Everything in the plot was wrapped up and all the questions raised were answered! The ending was also left at the perfect place and I actually found myself tearing up because of how beautiful it was! I loved it a lot! I now can't wait to check out this author's other books! As I said, I already have some on my Kindle, so I'm definitely going to be checking them out soon and giving them a read! The cover for this book is also seriously hot! It would definitely attract me to the book and make me check out the synopsis if I didn't already know the author's name! The cover model is the perfect Ian as well! Big thank you to Montlake Romance for an ARC of The Wreckage of Us!
