Synopsis: Hotel Lilith holds terrible memories for Cait Du Bois.
The darkest night of her life happened within its walls.
Once, she vowed never to return to the place that reminds her of the horror she experienced. But when the hotel is chosen as the location for her high school reunion, Cait finds herself unable to resist the appeal of showing off her new life to the people who once made her existence miserable.
Cait is no stranger to being noticed in public, especially as a bestselling author with an enthusiastic fan base, but back at Hotel Lilith, she was once recognized for a completely different reason. With all eyes on her as she returns to the town she’s spent years running from, Cait finds it increasingly difficult to discern between her fans and foes.
Haunted by the memory of a night that torments her, she resolves to put the past behind her and move on.
No one knows the truth about what happened back then.
At least, that’s what she’s always believed.
Shortly after her arrival, strange things begin to occur. A mysterious package, strange calls, and frightening text messages seem to be just the beginning of the nightmare about to unfold.
Someone is determined to bring the truth to light. If they succeed, the life Cait has built based on secrets could come crashing down around her. And, if they want her to pay for what she’s done, her lies may be the least of her concerns.
Someone’s out for blood.
I’ve read almost all of this author’s book and loved all of them ones I’ve read, so I always look forward to a new release from her! I received an ARC of this book and had just finished my current read, so I instantly picked picked this one up! After reading, I can say that I really enjoyed this book! The plot developed at the perfect pace and it only took me a few sittings to read! I loved the whole reunion aspect and the main character returning back to a place filled with haunted memories! The plot also some action and suspense in it, which added to it and made me enjoy it more! I also found the mystery aspect kept me on my toes and wanting to know what was going to happen next! There was also a little bit of romance, but it wasn’t the main focus of the plot at all! This book was also written in past/present format, which I normally don't like, but it really suited this book! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Cait was the main character, and in this book she was going back to a town and hotel that held bad memories for her! I really liked Cait and I felt like she had grown a lot from the girl she was when she younger and she was more in control and wanted to face things head on! There was a bit of a love triangle in this book, but it mostly took place in the past chapters and not really in the present ones! Grant was married to Cait in the present scenes and you got to see their relationship develop in the past scenes! Sam was the best friend of Cait and their relationship did develop further than friendship, but I do think they were better as friends! I really liked Cait and Grant together, even though they weren't even in same room for the majority of the plot lol! This book was only written from Cait’s point of view, which I was kind of expecting after I read the synopsis! I actually really enjoyed this book only being written through Cait’s eyes and it made sense for it to be written this way because it was her journey and her finding out who was gunning for her! I was also still able to connect with the other characters and it left an air of mystery surrounding them and for the reader to find out what was going on at the same time as the reader did! I can also completely understand why this book is a standalone! Everything in the plot was wrapped up and all the questions raised were answered! The ending was also left at the perfect place! I now can’t wait to see that this author is going to release next! I’ll definitely be reading it and I can't wait to learn more about it! The cover for this book is also perfect for it! I love it and how well it suits the book and what happens in it! It would intrigue me to read the synopsis of the book if I didn't already know the author's name! Big thank you to Kiersten for an ARC of The Reunion!
