Book Blitz & Giveaway: The Viking Mist [The Two Realms Trilogy 02] by Ariella Moon!

Excerpt!

A murderer lurks among us. The inconceivable thought looped unceasing inside Talfryn’s head. He closed his eyes against the memory of the fireball that hours ago had lit the night like dragon fire, torching the forest—not all of it, just the seat of the Noble House of Boughs—leaving the fairy Merrybelle dead. It could have been Lily who died instead of her sister. A sick feeling churned his stomach as he remembered how Lily, his closest friend aside from Fenella, the Thaness of Thorburn, had sustained unhealable burns.
   Unhealable!
Even in the antechamber beneath the earth, Talfryn’s eyes burned. His throat constricted from inhaling smoke laced with the acrid scent of malevolent magic. He longed to draw a deep breath, to inhale the sweet fragrance of summer flowers and the cool mist wafting off the lakes and river. But though his nostrils flared, his lungs refused to expand. The burn of a spent evil spell along with suffocating smoke and ash still coated his nose and throat.
His father spoke in a conspiratorial whisper. “Not since the murders of the Last Fairy King and Gudbrand the Dwarf has Fairy suffered such an unspeakable crime.”
“Those unsolved murders were centuries ago,” Talfryn said in a hushed voice.
“Aye.” Anger tinged Beacon’s tone. “Queen Mab never discovered her late husband’s killer.” He muttered something under his breath that sounded like, “Not that she tried too hard.”
“Mab better be more successful this time.” Talfryn peered over the heads of the waiting Trooping Fairies lined in front of him. Beyond them, crystal lanterns, conjured by the Noble House of Glint, free floated inside the Great Chamber. The lights cast a warm glow on the Blessed Court gathered below. The murderer may be one of them. Then he swept his gaze over the Trooping Fairies. Or one of us.

When a fairy kills a fairy, they forfeit immortality.

Never over three centuries, since the Last Fairy King was assassinated, has a noble fay been murdered in Fairy…until now.

The mysterious murder leads to an astounding discovery. Mab, Queen of Fairy, accuses Talfryn’s parents of stealing an elixir that restores immortality. She holds his fay father hostage, forcing the Halfling to enter the Viking realm to retrieve the potion.

Talfryn has five days to navigate the world of lethal Cold Iron, locate the human mother he has never known, and recover the elixir that could mask the murderer — a quest he cannot survive without aid from Fenella. Will the Thaness of Thorburn honor their alliance, knowing the venture would jeopardize her freedom and second chance at love?

In 16th century Scotland, Fenella believes Talfryn is dead. Her covert plan to regain her thanedom and safeguard her life hinges on marrying her kidnapper’s son…for love. With weeks until their wedding, she can ill afford to break Edward’s trust, or his heart…again.

Will love be lost…or found?
