Book Blitz: Blind Love [Sulfur Heights 03] by M.S. Brannon!

"She is magnetic to me. Every emotion she feels pulls me that much closer to her charm and energy. For reasons unbeknownst to me, I want her to know what she means to me." Jake Evans

For Jake Evans, life was as it should be. No responsibilities. He was the master at embracing his reckless lifestyle whenever it presented itself. Surviving on his ability to expertly hustle, fight and womanize, Jake could do it all; lived it all.

Raised in a rundown city, filled with crime and drugs, he had survived the death of an abusive mother and a life with an absent father while only having his brothers to depend on. His lifestyle became fast and Jake had lived it the only way he knew how, until the day he met Delilah.

Delilah St. James was the epitome of flawless. Brought up in an affluent southern household, Delilah's life had been planned from the moment she was born. She was raised to be the perfect socialite and daughter, and groomed to be the ideal wife. When a school internship moved her to Sulfur Heights for the summer, Delilah collided with the bitter reality of life outside her comfortable gated community when Jake Evans upset her perfect world.

Over the next two years, Jake and Delilah became best friends, embracing a friendship neither one was prepared to have, although they soon found it to be a relationship that neither one of them were willing to sacrifice.

A tragic turn of events brings Jake and Delilah together once again. Only this time, the feelings are different. Lines within their friendship are blurred. Everything they vowed never to do, becomes the very thing they cannot deny. Will Jake and Delilah's relationship withstand the changes surrounding them? Or will the emotions sever the two year friendship they'd fought so hard to keep?

Blog Tour: Bender [The Core Four 01] by Stacy Borel!

Publication date: 21st April 2014
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 4 stars
Synopsis: All Keegan wanted was a roommate who was quiet, minded their own business, and paid for part of the rent. Instead, she got Camden Brooks.

Camden, with his sinful body, sharp tongue, and the inability to stay out of Keegan’s personal business, couldn’t seem to curb his interest in the new girl who wouldn’t put up with his domineering ways.

Feelings were running rampant, sexual tension was thick, and both were struggling to let go of control.

To some people, getting a roommate simply meant living with another person. But to both Camden and Keegan it was a curveball that neither was prepared to swing at.

I was so excited when I found out about this book! It sounded hot and it sounded like my kind of book! And this was all before the cover ;) The cover basically sealed the deal for me, because who wouldn't read a book with a guy with that body on it, right? A much as it sounded good and have a hot cover, I felt like there was something missing for me to love it! I really enjoyed it at the beginning, but then some things that the characters did started to grate on me! The plot was also a different to what I was expecting! I enjoyed it though and I did like the direction it went in! The sex in this book was also so freaking hot! I mean, I've never read a sex scene in a gym before lol! Even though I had some problems with it, I did enjoy this book, its plot and I loved the ending too! The characters were great! Keegan was the main character and I started out really liking her and loving the way she was with her sister, but then she started overreacting and it felt to me that she was kind of cheating on the guy she was seeing! The guy she did start seeing deserved a slap though, and let's just say that he definitely deserved what Keegan's love interest did to him! Keegan was also kind of a whiny character! I can't stand whiny people, so I did find it a bit hard to connect with her! She let herself go though and I got to see the real Keegan when she started her relationship with her love interest, which was interesting! Camden was the love interest of Keegan and he was deliciously hot! I loved how protective he was of Keegan and I could see that although he tried not to, he had strong feelings for her! Camden didn't want to develop feelings for Keegan, but it was inevitable! They made such a hot couple though! Camden did say a couple of things in this book though, which made me want to punch him *Cough* When he called Keegan chubby! *Cough*! That was just uncalled for and I would have punched him if I was Keegan! He did make up for it though! The ending of this book was so freaking amazing! It really summed up Camden and Keegan as a couple! I read this book when it was a standalone, but it's been announced that it's actually the start of a series, with each book focusing on a different character! I will probably read the next book in this series and the rest of the series, but it probably won't be at the top of my TBR list! I'm excited to read the next character's story though! As I said, the cover for this book is so hot! Big thank you Stacy for an ARC of Bender and to Enticing Journey Book Promotions for having me on the Blog Tour!

Review: The Resurrection of Aubrey Miller by L.B. Simmons!

Publication date: 25th April 2014
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 5 stars
Synopsis: Death.

For some, it’s simply one of life’s certainties, nothing more. For others, it’s merely a fleeting thought, one often overshadowed by the reckless delusion that they have been blessed with the gift of immortality.

For Aubrey Miller, death is the definition of her very existence. Overcome with the guilt resulting from the loss of her beloved family, she alters her appearance from the once beautiful, blonde-haired, blue-eyed little girl to that of one shrouded in complete darkness, enveloping herself in her own unbreakable fortress of solitude as a form of protection for others.

As she enters her first year of college, her goal is simple: Earn a degree with the least amount of social interaction as possible. What she never anticipates is the formation of very unlikely relationships with two people who will change her life in ways she never believed possible: Quinn Matthews, the boisterous former pageant queen, and Kaeleb McMadden, a childhood friend from her past who never really let her go.

Over the years, as their connections intertwine and grow, a seemingly indestructible bond is formed between the three…

But when death painfully reemerges, Aubrey is lost once again, burying herself deeper than ever before inside the familiar fortification of her fears.

Will the refuge of friendship, the solidarity of life-long bonds, and the power of unconditional love be enough to do the impossible?

Will they be enough to finally bring about…

The Resurrection of Aubrey Miller?

Favourite quote: "As long as you continue to travel through life in this darkness, you will never know how beautiful your light truly shines when you let yourself love and be loved. Trust me when I say, it's a breathtaking sight to see. You burn as bright as the sun."

OMG! This is again one of the best books I've read this year so far! I fell completely in love with it and I would recommend it to anyone! This book was about realisation and about a girl who had been through Hell and back, realise her true worth and face her fears! I went through a whirlwind of emotions while reading this book and that's the kind of thing that happens when I know that a book's going to stay with me! There is no doubt about it that this book is definitely going to stay with me! The plot of this book dealt with so many issues! Some not related to the main character, and some which were! The plot was so hard to read at some points because I felt myself getting really emotional, but it was so beautiful and I can't fault it at all! I could definitely see that the author had poured her heart and soul into it! It was absolutely amazing and had me hooked from the first page! The characters were absolutely amazing! Aubrey was the main character and she was one of the most broken characters I've ever read! Aubrey felt like she didn't deserve love because bad things happened to the people she loved, but she didn't realise that she was pushing the people who loved her away! She hid behind a façade for some of this book, but there was a large portion where we saw the real, carefree version of her! My heart just went out to Aubrey, but she came so far in this book and she was a completely different person at the end! I just wanted to grab her in a massive hug and comfort her and show her that she was worth everything! Kaeleb was the love interest of Aubrey and he was there for her all the way through this book! He was the one who showed her just how important she was and how much she was worth! I adored Kaeleb! He told Aubrey straight and he didn't sugar-coat things for her, which is what she needed to help her understand just how deep his feelings for her were! Kaeleb was also really gentle with Aubrey, even though he told her straight! The ending of this book was just... wow! It was just absolutely perfect! I also have to admit that I shed tears! Happy tears, of course! It just summed up how far Aubrey had come and how much she had achieved! I'm also completely, 100% happy that this book is a standalone! Everything was just perfect with the summing up of the plot and the characters! The cover for this book is absolutely stunning! I actually can't get over how beautiful it is! You also realise just how perfectly it suits the book after you read it too! Big thank you to L.B. Simmons for an ARC of The Resurrection of Aubrey Miller!

Together, they fight back the darkness she’s living in. But when they finally step into the light, will the secret Kiernan’s been trying to keep buried destroy Jade, once and for all?

For some people, happy endings are a fairytale.

I always look forward to the next book from this author and I've read all but one of her books, but I have to say this book definitely packed the most punch with me! It was amazing and had a lot in it! Not only was it about a girl who was treated really badly be shown just how special she is, but it was also about how your life can change in the blink of an eye! The plot of this book was just amazing! It started out with a bad situation and then it ended really emotionally! Also, when I got quite a long way through the plot, there was a massive plot twist and I told myself that I wasn't going to cry, but by the end, I couldn't even read the ending from my tears lol! I was just a wreck! The plot was also written beautifully and was very emotional! As much as I loved the plot, the reason why I took this book down half a star was because it took me about a week to get through! I also felt like some scenes were dragged on a bit too long and the huge twist took quite a bit of the book to come into it, even though it played a massive part! The characters were amazing! Jade was the main character and my heart just completely went out to her! She was pulled down by the people who were supposed to make her feel loved and safe and it made her think that she was never good enough and she was a disappointment! Jade was anything but! She learned a lot in this book and she came so far! I was so happy that she learned how to embrace life and live it to the fullest! My heart again went out to Jade in this book at the end! I wanted to grab her in a hug and not let go of her because she had already been through so much! Kiernan was the love interest of Jade and I could see from the moment he was introduced in this book, just how far he would go to show Jade how beautiful and special she was! He sort of made it his main focus in this book! He wanted Jade to be happy and he wanted the best for her, which made me just adore him! Kiernan was a really special guy and the huge twist in this book made me want to shelter him and give him his full love story with Jade, grandkids and all! When I got to a certain point in this book, I sort of wondered how there could be a second book lol, and to be honest, I'm still sort of wondering what the author has planned for it lol! I'll definitely be reading it though! The ending of this book was just so sad and emotional, that I don't really know what's going to happen in the next book! I know that I'm going to need tissues though! Also, in this book a character really stuck out to me and I knew that he needed his own story! I'm really excited that there's going to be a novella about this character and I can't wait to read it! The cover for this book is stunning! I wasn't sure what the cover was going to look like, but it's absolutely stunning! I love it! Big thank you to Jamie for an ARC of Falling to Pieces and for having me on her Blog Tour!

Book Blitz & Giveaway: The Replacement by Rachael Wade!

A gritty New Adult drama about a young woman’s self-destructive quest to find purpose, self-worth, and love in a broken world.

My name is Elise Duchamp. I’m twenty-three years old and I’m known as the town whore.

No, not the kind who exchanges sexual favors for money. The other kind. The kind who gives it all away for free, whenever and however she likes. I am that girl. The one everyone whispers about and the one none of the girls seem to like, because all of their boyfriends either want to sleep with me or already have. Promiscuity is my thing—the kind that slowly, violently turns my insides black, but gives me something I need.

All things considered, I’m not completely reckless. I’m safe, and contrary to popular opinion, I do have a heart. I live in a world of careless choices, and with those choices come careless people. I cannot judge them, because I am one of them. I too bow down to the altar of the self-serving. I am not a good friend. I am not and never could be anyone’s girlfriend. I’m convinced any goodness in me shriveled up and died long ago.

But I am a replacement. That is something I know how to be, and this is a story of the lengths I’d go to in order to keep it that way.

K.I. Lynn spent her life in the arts, everything from music to painting and ceramics, then to writing. Characters have always run around in her head, acting out their stories, but it wasn’t until later in life she would put them to pen. It would turn out to be the one thing she was really passionate about.

Since she began posting stories online, she’s garnered acclaim for her diverse stories and hard hitting writing style. Two stories and characters are never the same, her brain moving through different ideas faster than she can write them down as it also plots its quest for world domination…or cheese. Whichever is easier to obtain… Usually it’s cheese.
