Synopsis: Bestselling author of the Wicked Lovely books Melissa Marr’s first contemporary YA novel is a twisted southern gothic tale of obsession, romance, and murder. A killer is obsessed with Eva Tilling. Can she stop him, or will he claim her?
When Eva Tilling wakes up in the hospital, she’s confused—who in her sleepy little North Carolina town could have hit her with their car? And why? But before she can consider the question, she finds that she’s awoken with a strange new skill: the ability to foresee people’s deaths when they touch her. While she is recovering from the hit-and-run, Nate, an old flame, reappears, and the two must traverse their rocky past as they figure out how to use Eva’s power to keep her friends—and themselves—alive. But while Eva and Nate grow closer, the killer grows increasingly frantic in his attempt to get to Eva.
For the first time, New York Times bestselling author Melissa Marr has applied her extraordinary talent to contemporary realism. Chilling twists, unrequited obsession, and high-stakes romance drive this Gothic, racy thriller—a story of small-town oppression and salvation. Melissa’s fans, and every YA reader, will find its wild ride enthralling.

I was so, so excited about this book when I heard about it! It sounded amazing and my kind of book! So when I got an email about Blog Tour sign-ups, I quickly signed up and sent a silent prayer that I would get on it lol! I'd also heard a lot about this author, but I'd yet to read any of her books until this one! This book was so freaking good! I devoured it in one day in one sitting! I just couldn't put it down! The plot was amazing! It was chilling, mysterious, suspenseful, and had a dash of romance in it! It was everything I hoped it would be! There were also a few twist and turns to keep things progressing and that could have ultimately changed the outcome of the book! The mystery aspect of the plot was also done brilliantly! I had my suspicions as to who the killer could be, but it was sort of hard to say for sure because there were quite a few secondary characters! A few people raised suspicion with me, but I had two main suspects! I can say that the killer was one of the suspects I guessed, so I was majorly happy that my suspicions were correct lol! The characters were amazing! Eva was the main character and she was sort of the 'it girl' at the beginning of this book and she still sort of was for the remainder of the book, but I felt like Eva didn't really act like she was the 'it girl' as the book progressed and she just wanted to find out who was killing everyone and had tried to kill her! I liked Eva's character, but there were some times where I didn't like her as much! She acted sort of stuck-up, which is why I didn't like her at times! She was fierce at the big action scene at the end of this book though! Nate was the main love interest of Eva! I loved Nate! I wasn't sure if he was going to be in this book a lot when he was first introduced, but the synopsis made it sound like Nate was going to play a big part, and he did, which I was happy about! Nate was so sweet with Eva too and I could see that he had strong feelings for her! He also brought out a playful, laidback side to Eva and he really helped her with finding out who the killer was! I loved that he was there for Eva for almost the whole of this book too! I'd also like to say that Eva had a boyfriend in this book for some of it, but there wasn't a love triangle or anything like that! I loved that there wasn't a love triangle because there was already a lot going on in the plot and a love triangle would have been too much! This book was written mainly from Eva's point of view, but there were several chapters written from the killer, 'Judge's', point of view and a few chapters were written from Eva's best friend, Grace's, point of view! This added a lot of mystery to the book and getting to go inside the killer's head was really creepy and gave you more insight into why he was doing what he was doing! I can completely understand why this book is a standalone! The plot was wrapped up and all the questions and mystery were answered! The cover for this book is absolutely stunning! It really intrigued me and drew me in, so I couldn't wait to read the story behind it! Big thank you to Melissa and HarperCollins for an e-ARC of Made For You and to Xpresso Book Tours for having me on the Blog Tour!
Author bio:
Hmm, I’m never good at the bio bit. I used to teach college & bartend, now I write novels. I love to meet new people, to hear their stories, to walk through new streets and see new vistas. I enjoy art in all its guises–graffiti, surrealist paintings, classic sculptures, tattoos, interesting buildings, Renoir, photography . . . Art & nature, they feed my soul & thus my muse.
love the cover

Great review, Kendall! I love the sounds of this one and how creepy it seems. I love thrillers so this is right up my alley. And the characters all sound great! No love triangle is refreshing, too! :)
