Blog Tour & Giveaway: Mending Scars [The Scars of Us 02] by Nikki Narvaez!

Publication date: 31st October 2014
Paperback edition: 250 pages
Source: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 stars
Synopsis:
Even though Kaleb is out of Kaiya's life, the scars he left behind remain a constant reminder of the pain he subjected her to for most of her life. Still tormented by those old demons, and plagued by the events of that traumatic night, Kaiya has more to deal with as she moves forward with Ryker.

Ryker's past continues to haunt him when something unexpected flips his and Kaiya's lives upside down. Neither are prepared for what's to come.

What happens when the past refuses to stay buried?

Will their love continue to be enough to overcome the obstacles they'll face, or are their scars too severe to mend?

I had been looking forward to reading this book since I finished the first book in the series! I loved the first book and I couldn't wait to continue the characters story! I also signed up for the Blog Tour for this book way back in June I think it was, and then the release date got pushed back until now! I was really gutted, but good things come to those who wait, right? ;) I really enjoyed this book! It was continued on brilliantly from the first book and it held my attention all the way through! I finished it in a few sittings too! I loved the plot! The plot had quite a few surprises in it, and I didn't see some of them coming! The plot also showed how far the two main characters had come since the first book! There was also a bit of suspense in the plot, which fueled it, but I did find the stalker person a bit of a weird choice considering he was in the first book, but then not mentioned in the first like 85% of this book lol! That's the only sort of bad thing I will say about the plot lol! Overall, I loved it, and I loved that there were some majorly hot scenes in it too! The characters were again amazing! Kaiya was again the main female character, and this book was about her trying to move on with her life after the events of her childhood and the events of the last book! I did feel for Kaiya in this book because she had been through a lot and then she went through a lot in this book with her brother and the weird texts! Kaiya had a lot on her plate, but she kept going and she was determined to help her brother come to terms with their situation! I also loved Kaiya with her love interest, Ryker! They made such a hot couple and I could see that they really loved each other! Ryker was the main male character, and this book was kinda more about him than Kaiya! Ryker was able to come to terms with what his brother and ex-girlfriend did to him, and he was able to start to see how important it is to have a relationship with your siblings! I do think that he overreacted too much with the situation with Kaiya though! I thought he would have trusted Kaiya more than that, especially considering that they were starting a family, but I guess he still had some trust issues after what his brother and ex-girlfriend did! Ryker was fiercely protective of Kaiya though and he had some major love for her! He was seriously hot too! I loved him! I loved that this book was again written from both Kaiya and Ryker's point of views! It kinda had to be because of the separate storylines, but I'm really glad it was! It helped me connect more with Kaiya and Ryker! I'm not sure if this book is the last book in this series! I doubt there's going to be another book though because the ending of this book summed up Kaiya and Ryker's relationship and story perfectly! There's potential for another character's story though! The cover for this book is seriously hot! It suits the first book's cover perfectly too, and I fell completely in love with as soon as I saw it!
