UK Blog Tour: The Happy Ever Afterlife of Rosie Potter (RIP) by Kate Winter!

Publication date: 21st May 2015
Paperback edition: 304 pages
Source: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 stars
Synopsis:
Falling in love is never simple. Especially when you're dead.

When Rosie Potter wakes up one morning with what she assumes is the world's worst hangover, the last thing she expects is to discover that she's actually dead. With a frustrating case of amnesia, suspicious circumstances surrounding her untimely demise, and stuck wearing her ugliest flannel PJs, Rosie must figure out not only what happened last night, but why on earth she's still here.

Slowly the mystery unravels, but there are many other secrets buried in the quiet Irish village of Ballycarragh, and nobody is as innocent as they first appear. Aided by the unlikeliest of allies in her investigation, Rosie discovers that life after death isn't all it's cracked up to be, particularly when you might just be falling in love . . .

In this hilarious, life-affirming and romantic journey through Rosie Potter's afterlife, she shares the ghostly tale of how she lived, she died, and she loved (in that order).

I hadn't heard of this book before until the UK publisher emailed me and asked me if I would like to be on the UK Blog Tour for it and review the book! I thought about it for a couple of hours because this book isn't my typical read, but I was intrigued and wanted to step outside my comfort zone, so I said yes! I'm really glad I said yes to reviewing it! This book was so cute and very funny at times! I normally don't laugh at books, but I found myself laughing and smiling whilst reading this one! There was also a bit of suspense to the story! The plot was so good! It also had a mystery aspect to it, which I thought was interesting! I also had a few suspicions as to who the bad guy could be, but my main guess was a little too obvious lol! I did wish that the mystery killer had been different though lol, even though I didn't expect it lol! It's fair to say that the author took me a bit by surprise lol! I really enjoyed the plot and it actually exceeded my expectations! The characters were great! Rosie was the main character, and she gets a bit of a fright when she wakes up one day and is a ghost! Rosie actually handled it really well lol! I mean, I'm not sure exactly how you're supposed to take it, but I expected some screaming lol! Rosie spends this book thinking about her life and trying to find out who killed her! I just loved Rosie! She went through a lot of realisation in this book, and even though it was too late for her, which made me really sad, Rosie was able to realise who was important in her life and who she really loved! It made me really sad that Rosie was to late to realise who she really loved, but in a way she was still with him even after she was gone! Charles was the main love interest of Rosie and he was also the only person who could see her in her ghost form, so he helped her solve the mystery surrounding her death! I loved Charles! He was so straight with Rosie at times and then he was so cute with her too! Charles also helped Rosie a lot and I could see that he had always had feelings for her! He was also always there for Rosie and just completely adored her! He was protective of her too! Well, as protective as he could have been considering she was a ghost lol! Rosie also had a boyfriend, Jack, in this book when she alive and she adored him and thought he was her everything, but Jack was actually a liar and he was hiding a lot from Rosie! I mean, there wasn't a love triangle in this book, which I loved, but I did like the two love interests aspect! I know that this book is a standalone, which I can completely understand as the plot was resolved and all questions were answered, but this book was a very good debut novel and I'm excited to see what this author is going to release next! The ending also made me cry lol! It was so beautiful! I know that this book has two covers! I love the cover for the paperback, which is the cover down below! I think it looks bright and summery and colourful! The ebook cover is a little darker, but it has a bit of a similar deign to the paperback's cover! Big thank you to Sphere from Little, Brown Book Group and Netgalley for an e-ARC of The Happy Ever Afterlife of Rosie Potter (RIP)!

After graduating from University of Ulster with first class honours and the Ulster Television Award for her BA in Media Studies, Kate promptly forged a glittering career for herself in waitressing. Then one day, beside a swimming pool in Australia, Kate decided it was time to write a book. The Happy Ever Afterlife of Rosie Potter (RIP) is Kate's debut novel.
