UK Blog Tour: The Hurricane [The Hurricane 01] by R.J. Prescott!

Publication date: 17th March 2016 (UK paperback)
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 stars
Synopsis: A love that's worth keeping is worth fighting for . . .

Emily McCarthy is living in fear of a dark and dangerous past. A gifted mathematician, she is little more than a hollow, broken shell, trying desperately to make ends meet long enough to finish her degree.

Through an unlikely friendship with the aging, cantankerous owner of an old boxing gym, Em is thrown into the path of the most dangerous man that she has ever met.

Cormac “the Hurricane” O’Connell is cut, tattooed and dangerous. He is a lethal weapon with no safety and everyone is waiting for the mis-fire. He’s never been knocked out before, but when he meet Em he falls, HARD. Unlike any other girl he’s ever met, she doesn’t want anything from him, but just being around her makes him want to be a better person.

They are polar opposites who were never meant to find each other, but some things are just worth the fight.

I was originally on the Blog Tour for this book when the author first self-published it last year, so I had already read it when the UK publisher emailed me and asked me if I would like to be on the UK Blog Tour for it over a year later lol! I obviously said yes and I re-read this book when I received my review copy! I still loved it as much as the first time I read it and it was a brilliant debut novel! It also only took me a few days to read and I loved every minute of reading it! The plot was again amazing! It was pretty straightforward, but the romance in it was leaking off the pages! It was also seriously hot and very beautiful at times! There was also a bit of action in the plot too, and a big tense scene near the end, which added a lot to the development of the plot! I also wasn't able to put this book down as soon as I started reading it too! I always wanted to find out what was going to happen next! It was just brilliant and I really enjoyed it! The characters were also amazing! Emily was the main character, and she had been through a lot in her life! My heart completely went out to her! She had such a tough time and she went through some really horrible things! These really horrible things left Emily a timid, scared person, but as this book developed, she became more confident and she learned that she didn't have to be scared! I do think that Emily became too confident too soon though for how scared she was though! Emily was also a really hardworking person! She had two jobs and was at university, which really impressed me! She managed them all so well too! Cormac was the love interest of Emily, and he was seriously hot! I mean, of course he was! He was also quite a broken character, which came out more as the book developed! It was interesting to find out more about Cormac! It showed me how hard his childhood had been and that it made him want to make something of his life! He worked really hard as well in this book! He was determined to work his way up and be able to provide for Emily, which I admired about him! I loved Cormac! I loved his protectiveness and the way he was with Emily! He treated her like she was his world, and I could see that he really loved her! I knew that this book was only written from Emily's point of view! I loved it being written from Emily's point of view, but I would still have loved to have gotten to go inside Cormac's head more as well! I loved that the epilogue was written from Cormac's point of view though! I know that the sequel to this book is already out, but I haven't read it yet! I also know that it continues Emily and Cormac's story! I definitely plan to read it soon as I've just re-read this book! The UK publisher of this book changed the cover for it! The original cover for this book was seriously hot and I love it a lot, but I'm actually a big fan of the new UK cover too! It suits the book and so do he models on the front! Big thank you to Piatkus for a review copy of The Hurricane and for having me on the UK Blog Tour!
