Blog Tour & Giveaway: The Baby's Christmas Blessing by Meghann Whistler!

Author Post!

Psst… I have to make a confession: Until about five years ago, I’d never read a Christian romance novel. 😲

So, how did I go from never reading them to writing them?

Well, I’ve been a writer for a long time. I actually went to graduate school for creative writing, but back then, I was writing literary fiction, and my stories didn’t always have a happy ending.

I came really, really close to selling my first novel to a publisher, but in the end, it didn’t happen.

I’m grateful for that now.

When I was 24, I wanted to get published just to get published. I loved writing fiction, but after I wrote that first book, I had no ideas for a second one. I would start projects and abandon them. I could never get very far beyond the opening scene.

I told myself it was because I was busy with my day job, my marriage, and starting my family, but really, I was out of inspiration.

I had nothing to say.

I started reading Christian romance novels because I was feeling hopeless that I would ever find victory over a personal issue I had struggled with since I was a young girl. In my darkest moments, those books allowed me to forget about my troubles. They made me feel happy, and they gave me hope.

It wasn’t long before I began to wonder if maybe I could write a Christian romance novel, too.

After nine months of sneaking in an hour of writing here and there when my kids were napping or in the babysitting room at the YMCA, I did it! I finished my first book, Falling for the Innkeeper, which came out in 2020.

Next came The Billionaire’s Secret, which won the 2022 Selah Award for Contemporary Romance, and just a few days ago, The Baby’s Christmas Blessing went live!

Reading Christian romance novels gives me hope, and writing them gives me purpose. I’m grateful that I stumbled across them at the exact right time in my life. 💓

A second chance at love

with a newborn as matchmaker!

Nothing will be merry about Steve Weston’s Christmas if he doesn’t find a nanny for his newborn nephew fast. But the best choice is Chloe Richardson, the woman he pushed away years ago. He has a second chance at making the season’s joy last for a lifetime—unless he allows old wounds to separate them once more…
