Blog Tour: Saving Me by Kelsie Blanton!

Publication date: 24th January 2013
Paperback edition: 151 pages
Source: Kindle
Rating: 4 stars
Synopsis: Sixteen-year old Peyton Jones had it all: straight A's in school, the perfect boyfriend, and nothing to worry about but keeping her GPA up. Then one night her perfect world is suddenly ripped away from her. Everything she has ever known changes and she goes from having a perfect plan to watching her world crumble around her.

Steve Gibbons was the quarterback of his high school football team...until the new guy showed up and stole his spot, causing him to lose his chance at a scholarship. Football was his life and now he feels like he has nothing.

Drawn together after losing hope for their futures, Peyton and Steve become best friends, but as they grow closer, a colossal secret is revealed changing everything. Will Peyton be left to face her inevitable future alone, or can she trust enough to let someone else in?
Favourite quote: "Faith is having a complete trust in something that you cannot see or touch, but deep down in your heart, you know it's there."

I was not expecting this book at all! I was between 4 and 5 stars with it but I felt that it deserves 4 for a few reasons! I found some of the book a little confusing as it went really fast and sometimes it felt like some of the scenes were actually missing or weren't full developed! I did read this book in two sittings though as it held my attention so much! So much happened in Saving Me that I wasn't expecting at all! The plot had such a difficult issue in it and I really don't want to say too much about it as the synopsis doesn't tell you a single thing about it so I definitely don't want to spoil it for anyone but I can say that I definitely wasn't expecting it! The plot was beautiful and developed really well though after it passed a certain stage! I do have to mention though that Saving Me had a brutal scene in it which I wasn't actually expecting the author to put in there but to maybe mention it or sort of show a little bit from it so I have to praise Kelsie for putting it fully in there! I also though that I knew where this book was going to go at some scenes and also with the overall plot but there were some twists and turns in there to make me second guess my thoughts! The characters were amazing! I did think that maybe they could have been developed a little bit more though! Peyton was the main character and I loved her telling Saving Me! Throughout the book she grew so much! I felt so sorry for her for what happened to her in Saving Me! I have no idea what I would have done if I had been put in her situation at sixteen years of age but I can definitely say that she made the correct choice! Peyton was so determined to do that best that she could under her situation and I really admired her for that! Steve was so easy for me to connect with! I loved how much he cared for Peyton and I loved his determination! He was willing to risk his life for Peyton and I loved him for that! The ending of this book was beautiful! I was expecting the end scene be what it was and I was right but it still made me shed a few tears! I can completely understand why this book is a standalone as by the last page everything was fully resolved! I also really like the cover! It definitely makes more sense to you after you have read the book! Big thank you to Kelsie for a copy of Saving Me and to Amber for having me on the Blog Tour!
