August 101: Photo inspiration model Bernardo Velasco
Kensie was the original character to plague my mind. When I thought about what guy would be perfect for her I developed August Hunter. He had to be her perfect compliment maintaining the same morals and values Kensie set for herself, yet he had to be her opposite in ways that challenged Kensie to grow and step out of her comfort zones.
August grew up at an early age. He was faced with decisions and circumstances that teenagers just shouldn’t and don’t usually have to face. These experiences though difficult and painful, helped mold him into the man Kensie falls in love with. He is responsible and grounded, and he is fiercely devoted to those he loves. Most notably, he knows what he wants in life and harbors no hesitations in getting that, including Kensie.
August’s deep voice and stellar good looks are what first caught Kensie’s attention. He stands around six foot three and has a lean muscular build. He doesn’t work out often, but keeps in shape keeping up with the kids at the youth center he works at. His dark brown hair is cut short and compliments his warm brown eyes. What really captures Kensie is his smile. It’s a smile that lights up his whole face while simultaneously lighting up the room.

For college student Kensie, finding love hasn’t been easy. With a father she’s estranged from she finds it difficult to trust men, and with a past she’s ashamed of she is unable to trust herself. Kensie feels irrevocably stagnant with an unending desire to move. That is, until she meets August, and her life is set into motion.
After a tragic accident, August gave up on living. A captive to his guilt, he is unable to move on from his past. Then he finds a reason in Kensie. She awakes every dormant fiber of his being, but will she want him once she discovers he is everything she fears most?
Can Kensie let herself love August, or will the truth destroy her?

Kim is a binge reader, devouring books one after another. She's creates characters and stories in the same way maintaing a notebook of thoughts and ideas. Truth in Wildflowers is the first time two characters have found a home in a full length book.
