Book Blitz & Giveaway: Docked Series by Rachael Wade!

Docked [Docked 01]!

It’s not water that paralyzes Anya Banks—it’s the ocean. Tumultuous and powerful, sleek and unpredictable, it’s just like Tanner Christensen, owner of Trident Voyager, the cruise ship she’s been talked into boarding by her vivacious, foodie fanatic best friend and co-worker, Lana. Tanner exudes confidence, and his raw masculinity is hard to resist. But Anya came aboard to work, face her demons, and then get the hell back to dry land.

Until Tanner convinces her to take the plunge.

She quickly dives into a fun, carefree arrangement with him and embraces her goal to be brave, no matter how loudly her shaky knees tell her to abandon ship. For twelve days, Tanner’s all hers. For twelve days, she’s his goddess. Once the cruise is over and the ship docks, she won’t be the same. But being brave always costs something, and this time, it might cost her heart.

Anchored [Docked 02]!

 Tanner and Anya’s story continues…

Choosing to put aside her reservations about spending more time with Tanner Christensen, Anya said to hell with her instinct and agreed to another cruise. She agreed to take the risk. But now she’s stuck.

Stuck on Trident Voyager.

Stuck with Tanner Christensen, and the woman hell bent on making her pay.

What was supposed to be a fun, careless fling turned out to be something else entirely. Something she wasn’t prepared for and something she certainly can’t take back. The damage is done, and this time, Lana and Brie aren’t by her side to help her weather the storm. There are no escape routes, only ship decks, miles of white sand, and one very self-assured, dominant cruise ship owner determined to get her attention and set things straight.

Lana might still be her partner in crime, but it’s Anya who must fight for—and protect—her heart when all is said and done.

Release Day Blitz & Giveaway: Strike [Spark 03] by Jennifer Ryder!

Fast. That’s how I like life, especially my two great joys: bikes and women. I’m committed to exclusively riding one, but not the other.

Until April.

A sexy-arse freelance photographer who’s travelled the world, and doesn’t do long walks on the beach or romantic candlelit dinners. She enjoys running with the bulls and food spicy enough to make your hair fall out. If that weren’t enough to get me hard, she rides a mean mother of a motorcycle.

I’ve gotta have a taste of this wildcat.

~Spencer (Jones)

I don’t do fast. Not anymore. I’ve got my career, my independence, and since I fled Spain to come back home I promised myself that I wouldn’t be put second—or third, for that matter—again.

Then I meet pretty boy Spencer.

He’s smooth, oozing the most potent pheromones probably known to modern science, and he’s making a move on me. One kiss was almost enough for my promise to dissolve.

My head says no—my treacherous body screams yes. I’m gonna make Spencer work for it. Make him fight for the chance to have me, because I know that deep down I’m worth it.

~April MacIntyre

Will they be able to rediscover that the only answer lies with one another, or will they lose each other forever?

I was so excited to read this book, so when I saw sign-ups for events for the book, I quickly signed up! I loved these characters first book and I couldn't wait to see where their story was going to go next! I was also super happy that the author decided to give them another book to finish off their story! The Only Answer was an amazing book! It was a quick read too, so I read it in a few sittings in one day! I may have enjoyed it more than the first book as well! The plot was amazing! It went at a really good pace, and once I started reading, I couldn't stop until I had finished it, which explains why I read it so quickly lol! I have to admit that the plot did go in a different direction to what I thought it was going too, but I loved the direction it did go in! There were also a few tense scenes in the plot that made me sort of wonder as to where the plot was going to go next! I just loved it though and the overall plot really impressed me, even though it went in a different direction to what I was expecting! The characters were again amazing! Monica was again the main female character and she was in a bit of a pickle in this book and she didn't really know how to handle it to start with! I have to say that after Monica got over the shock, she handled it brilliantly! I loved that she stepped up and she was prepared for the new role in her life! She was also fierce in this book and she stood up for herself and Trey too! I just loved her! She's also come a long way since I first met her in the first book! She was also seriously hot with her love interest! Trey was again the main male character and love interest of Monica! I just adored Trey in this book! He was fiercely protective of Monica and I could see that he would do anything to protect her, even if it meant defying his parents wishes! I actually loved Trey more in this book than what I did in the first book! I felt like he was more attentive towards Monica and that was super sweet to read! Trey also stepped up in this book and that's what he needed to do for he and Monica to develop onto the next stage in their lives that they were going to have to face together! I loved that characters from the other companion book, The Only One, made appearances in this book! It was fun to see how their relationship had developed! I also really enjoyed that this book was written from both Monica and Trey's point of views! It made me love the plot even more and seeing their love for each other through both of their eyes was really beautiful! I don't think there's going to be another book in Monica and Trey's story! There's potential for another book though or maybe Trey and Monica appearing in other books featuring a different couple, but I'm not sure what the author has planned! I really hope Monica and Trey appear in another book though! The cover for this book is stunning! It suits it really well and I love how it matches the other books in this companion series too! Big thank you to Magan and WordSmith Publicity for an ARC of The Only Answer!

UK Blog Tour: The Mill River Redemption‏ by Darcie Chan!

Publication date: 26th August 2014
Paperback edition: 416 pages
Source: Kindle
Rating: 3.5/4 stars
Synopsis: Two estranged sisters. Their mother’s final wish. A life-changing discovery. A captivating tale of family, love and forgiveness, perfect for fans of Maeve Binchy and Erica James.

Having unexpectedly lost her husband and lacking the means to support herself, Josie DiSanti and her two daughters take refuge in the small town of Mill River, to live with Josie's aunt, Ivy. The sisters, Rose and Emily, are inseparable growing up - until a shocking tragedy tears them apart.

Years later, Rose and Emily return to Mill River for the reading of their mother's will, where they learn that Josie would do anything to force their reconciliation: the sisters must move into neighbouring houses for the summer and work together to locate the key to Josie's safe deposit box, which contains their inheritance. And so, left with no choice, Rose and Emily reluctantly begin their search. But in a place known for its magic and miracles, little do they know that an even greater treasure awaits them...

Favourite quote: "The fault, dear Josie, is not in our stars, but in ourselves."

I wasn't 100% sure about reading this book when the UK publisher contacted me and asked me if I would like to review it! It isn't the kind of book I normally read, but I decided to go outside my comfort zone and give this book a shot! I'm really glad I did! Although, it took me quite a while to get through it, I really liked it! I found it hard to rate though because it developed quite slow, but it was really interesting, so I decided to give it 3 and a half to four stars! I also gave it this rating because this book wasn't my typical read, but it's the perfect read for someone who reads this genre a lot! The plot of this book was so different to books I normally read! The synopsis tells you a lot about what happens in it and it was executed brilliantly! I really liked that the plot went back to 1983 and then it went through the years to 2013! It showed how much the characters had developed! I also loved that the plot had some twists in it too! One big one that I didn't see coming! The plot was also enjoyable and well written! It had a lot in it too! The characters were amazing! There were quite a few characters in this book and it was told from multiple point of views! I normally don't like books being told from more than two different point of views, but being written from all different point of views added a lot to this book and developed the plot more! The story of this book centred around Josie and her moving on with her life after the unexpected death of her husband! We watch her just after her husband has died, then we see her provide for her daughters, and then we see her show her daughters that family is everything! Josie was quite a cunning character and I loved her! I loved her determination, her strength and how far she went to show her girls how much they needed to forgive each other too! She was an amazing character! Rose and Emily were Josie's daughters and they were so different to each other in this book! Rose held a great deal of guilt and she had an alcohol problem meanwhile Emily was more carefree and sort of ceased life! I have to say that it was really sad seeing their relationship break down though and the circumstances surrounding their fall out! Both Rose and Emily came a long way in this book though! They grew a lot and they learned what's most important in life! I loved that this happened! This book was mostly written from Josie, Rose, Emily, Ivy, Claudia, Rose's son, Alex, and Father O'Brien's point of views! The different point of views added a lot to the story! I can completely understand why this book is a standalone! Everything was summed up and everything was answered and the characters had come a long way! The cover for this book suits it perfectly! I love how well it does actually suit what happens in the book and the cover is really pretty too! Big thank you to Sphere from Little, Brown Book Group for an ARC of The Mill River Redemption!

UK Blog Tour: Rival [Fall Away 02] by Penelope Douglas!

Publication date: 26th August 2014
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 5 stars
Synopsis: Madoc and Fallon. Two estranged teenagers playing games that push the boundaries between love and war.

She's back.

For the three years she's been away at boarding school, there was no word from her. Back when we lived in the same house, she used to cut me down during the day and then leave her door open for me at night.

I was stupid then, but now I'm ready to beat her at her own game...

I'm back.

Three years and I can tell he still wants me, even if he acts like he's better than me.

But I won't be scared away. Or pushed down. I'll call his bluff and fight back. That's what he wants, right? As long as I keep my guard up, he'll never know how much he affects me...

I was really excited about reading this book, so I was super happy when the UK publisher auto approved me for it on NetGalley! I read the first book in this series after a very good friend recommended it to me, but I haven't read the novella that goes with it! I did love the first book though and I think this book can be read as a standalone! I freaking loved this book! I may have enjoyed it more than the first book! The plot was amazing! I couldn't actually put it down, and even when I did, I was reading a few more chapters every chance I got! There was so much in the plot as well and it started out going in the direction I thought it was going too, and then it started changing and it went in a different direction! I enjoyed the overall direction the plot went in though! There were twist and turns in the plot too and some left with my mouth hanging open! There were also some super hot scenes in this book too, which I loved! I mean, they were seriously hot, and I love sexy scenes in books! The characters were amazing! Madoc was the main male character and he was so freaking hot! Madoc is in the other books in this series, but he's a secondary character! This was his story though, and I loved every second of it! Madoc intrigued me in the other books and this book let me get inside his head and find out more about him and his background! I just loved Madoc! He had such a tough side to him and then he also had a protective, soft side to him too! Especially when it came to his love interest, Fallon! Madoc also surprised me in this book too with his reactions to finding out the secrets hidden! He actually took them really well, which told me a lot about the kind of person he was! I just loved him! Fallon was the main female character and she sort of had an alterative motive in this book! She returned to a place she didn't feel entirely comfortable to face the people she resented! Well, apart from one person! Fallon kept a few secrets in this book and my heart did go out to her for what her mother made her do! It was so sad and must have been really hard for Fallon! She was such a strong character though and she proved this again and again in this book! I adored Fallon! I loved that she stood out and she was kinda shy, but could hold her own as well! She was an amazing character! I'm also not 100% sure if Fallon appears in the other books in this series, but I think she does! I loved that this book was written from both Madoc and Fallon's point of view! It kind of had to be because of what happens in the plot though! I loved it though and being written from both of their point of views made the plot even better! I can't wait to read the next book in this series! I know that it's not going to be about Madoc and Fallon, but I'm sure they'll make appearances in it! The UK cover for this book is really pretty! I love it and I love that it isn't really different to the US cover because I love the US cover too! Big thank you to NetGalley and the imprint Piatkus from Little, Brown Book Group for an ARC of Rival and for having me on the UK Blog Tour!

Promo Tour & Giveaway: 42 Hours [Time for Love 03] by Bethany Lopez!

Excerpt!

“You wanna play?” I asked loudly, chuckling when her wide eyes met mine and she shook her head wildly, taking off in the other direction.
We swam around for a while, playing our game of cat and mouse, until we were both laughing and exhausted. After I caught her for the fifth time, I grabbed her and pulled her into my arms, rather than dunking her under.
Gaby’s laugh caught as her slick body made contact with mine, and my hands came up to tangle in her hair. I looked into her eyes, which were bright and dancing with laughter, before leaning in to touch my lips to hers. They opened upon contact, and I swept my tongue inside her mouth. Gaby’s arms tightened around my neck and pulled me closer, bringing our bodies flush with each other. I explored her mouth, my body hard with need, as my hand lowered to explore her back, cupping her ass and grounding her lower body to mine.
Gaby moaned seductively against my lips and tangled her fingers in my hair as she pulled away, softly biting my lower lip with her teeth before plunging back in to claim my mouth. Her response made me frenzied and I began to move toward the shore, eager to have her beneath me. As we moved, her legs wrapped around my waist, causing my dick to throb eagerly against her hot core as it pressed into me. I almost stumbled at the contact, but caught my feet and continued on my mission.
When the water was finally lapping at my ankles, I lowered Gaby slowly to the ground and covered her body with mine. Her legs stayed around my hips, but her hands began to move along my slick skin, and she broke her lips away from mine to begin a trail of kisses along my jaw. As the cool water teased our bodies, I looked down at Gaby’s flushed face and lowered my hands to caress her breasts. She arched her back and groaned, reaching up to run her tongue seductively along my throat. I pinched the pebbled nipple beneath my fingertips, rolling it softly as I lowered my mouth to her collarbone. I began to lick and nip my way lower, when a noise pulled me out of my haze and I looked up.
Shelly was standing on the porch, one hand holding the door open, the other covering her open mouth. She shook her head and dropped her hand, squeaking out, “Sorry,” before turning and rushing back inside. The door slammed behind her.
I tried to focus, but Gaby’s hands were now squeezing my ass as she kissed every inch of skin she could reach.
It felt fucking amazing. I had to close my eyes and take a deep breath before bringing my hands to each side of her face and pulling her back so that I could look in her unfocused eyes.

Eight years ago, Scott and Gaby shared one very special night. Not wanting to ruin their friendship, they didn't take things further...but neither of them has forgotten.

When Scott’s friends stage an intervention to make him realize that his fiancé, Victoria, is all wrong for him, he takes time to evaluate his life. He’s earned a big promotion and just bought his dream car, but those things are just superficial. The one time he was truly happy, was with Gaby.

Gaby is in a good place in her life. She loves her job, has the best friends and family a girl could ask for, and is dating a sweet and sexy guy, but she’s never stopped thinking about that night with Scott.

Eager to find happiness again, Scott makes a plan to win Gaby’s heart during a weekend getaway, but she doesn’t want to be his rebound girl. Will 42 hours be enough to convince Gaby that it's finally their time for love?

Book Blitz & Giveaway: The Druid Series 9: Baird [The Druid Series 09] by Marata Eros!

Excerpt!

“Baird.” He tosses his chin toward Carrig and the introductions stall.
Carrig is more amiable than Baird. “What blood are you?”
Titus moves swiftly beside them though he carries Siana’s dead weight. “I am blood of the demonic, and also Exotic.”
   “Obviously vampire,” Carrig replies.
“Aye, I am, though I have enough Exotic blood to shadow skip.”
   Baird frowns.
“Baird,” Carrig says, but Baird sprints ahead.
He smells the wetness from the hot spring, musty yet sweet. Baird zeroes in on it as he runs, and Titus follows.
They arrive at the water's edge, and all of them slip off their clothes.
Carrig nudges the edge of his rucksack open and plucks out soap.
Siana moans, flopping an elegant arm over her eyes.
She gasps as hot water slides over her body. Every scratch, wound, and piece of filth responds with a biting sting.
“What?” Siana asks, her voice thick.
“We are bathing then seeking shelter nearby,” Carrig explains.
Baird takes Siana from Titus, and he resists.
   Their eyes lock.
“I will not harm the Druid queen, Faction,” Baird says.
Siana holds an arm around Titus's waist as she half floats in the warm water. “He does not believe you.” She looks up at Titus through half-closed lids.
   Carrig snorts, and Baird frowns.
Her naked shoulders lift. “What assurance does he have, based on your rabid behavior?”
Baird casts his eyes to the ground, properly shamed.
When he lifts them, he is more himself. “I wish to have some time to speak alone with you.”
“Ah,” Siana says, “you need but ask. We're obviously on intimate terms.”
She says her words with mirth. They are barbs sinking into his flesh, and he deserves it.
Siana lets herself be pulled through the water by Baird.
Something tight and hard eases within Baird's chest when she is beside him.
He kisses the top of her head, wrapping her tightly against himself.
They float away while the other men clean. Only the sounds of splashing can be heard.

Siana has disappeared. As an Exotic and Druid warrior queen, she is not beholden to the magick call of sex slavery as the Druid witches of her upbringing. She does not realize as she runs, Baird and Kael follow with opposing agendas.

Now that Jessamine is within the subjugation of the undead, the Druid females will be ruled by the fair hand of Imogen and her Reaper Kings, Carrig and Quinn. When a gathering of remaining Druid priests come against the new kingdom, the Reapers find their numbers too few to protect the stronghold.

Altho and the gifted Druid female Seraphina cannot reconcile the inception of their relationship, and her promise to be his. Altho seeks guidance from the Reaper leader, Maghnus... only to discover they vie for more than power alone.

Can Siana obtain the freedom she wishes and the love she denies? Will the new kingdom of Reapers succeed in the protection of their Druid females? Do Altho and Maghnus hold the key to revolutionizing the power structure of both Druid and Reaper?

After graduating from high school, Easton Grace knows exactly what he wants and how to get it. His goal for the summer includes two things: avoiding his father’s wrath and protecting his sister. His carefully laid plans are quickly changed when a girl comes to town causing him to lose his tight grasp of control on everything, including himself.

Following years of sorrow, Taylor Monaco returns to a town she never wanted to see again but will forever call home. Her life was eternally changed by the people in this town, especially one boy. Her heart desires someone she’s not sure her soul can handle.

Can Easton and Taylor find their path before it’s too late - before the storm?
