Blog Tour & Giveaway: Kill Devil Hills [Kill Devil Hills 01] by Sarah Darlington!

Publication date: 5th August 2014
Paperback edition: -
Source: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 stars
SynopsisHe’s twenty-four. She’s eighteen.

His life is exactly the way he’s always wanted it to be...stable.
She’s quite possibly the very definition of unstable.

Noah saved her.
Georgina never wanted to be saved.

Growing up, Noah Clark was passed from one relative to the next until he finally ended up living with his abusive, alcoholic uncle in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. Thanks in part to the unwavering love and support of his best friend, Ellie Turner, Noah survived those years, escaped his uncle, and grew into the man he is today. Now he runs his own business and lives a pretty normal, no-nonsense life—one where he maintains a high level of control.

Georgina is Ellie’s younger sister. Four months ago, Noah saved Georgie’s life, but he thought that was where his involvement with his friend’s sister would end. Now Georgie has returned home from the recovery facility her parents sent her away to and Noah, still haunted by the night that connects them, can’t stop himself from continuously trying to protect this girl he barely knows. But is he willing to give up all of the control he’s worked so hard to build in his life and risk everything for her? Even more importantly, would she do the same for him?

I saw the Cover Reveal for this book on Facebook and the cover is stunning, so I checked out the synopsis! The synopsis really intrigued me so when I got an email from the author about the Blog Tour for this book, I quickly signed up! I really enjoyed this book! It was quite a dark read, but there was light in it too! The reason why I gave it four and a half stars though is because it took me weeks to get through! I started reading, got halfway through, and then I sort of had to force myself to read the other half! As soon as I started reading the other half though, I was sucked straight back into the story! The plot starts with the scene that sets the whole book up and then the rest of the book is about watching the characters learn how to move on and come to terms with everything! I loved the plot! It was sad, it was emotional, it really touched me and it was amazing! I loved the pace of the plot too and the romance in it was intense and I could see that the two main characters had such a strong connection with each other! The romance was my favourite bit of the plot! The characters were amazing and so misunderstood! Noah was the main male character and he was a guy with a lot of issues! I thought he was going to be the average bad boy, but he was slightly OCD and he didn't really know how to let someone else have control! He had been through a lot though, so I understood why he needed order and control! I loved the way Noah was with his love interest, Georgie, too! He was so sweet to her and I could see that he had really deep feelings for her! Noah was also really protective of her, which I could understand because of what Noah did for Georgie at the beginning of this book! He saved her and then showed her that life's worth living and that every moment should be treasured! Georgina 'Georgie' was the main female character and I loved her! I thought her story was a sad one and I wanted to hug her for the full of this book! She did something that took guts at the beginning of this book and the rest of this book was about her realising that if she succeeded in what she attempted, how big an impact it would have had on the people that love her! Georgie grew a lot in this book and she learned that she had so much to live for and that she was surrounded by people who loved her! I loved Georgie's changes and that she was able to realise that she had everything to live for! I also loved that she felt guilty for what she attempted at the beginning of this book! It told me a lot about her! I loved that this book was written from both Noah and Georgie's point of views! It helped me connect with both of the characters more and it made the plot even better! I'll definitely be reading the next book in this series! I don't think that Noah and Georgina will be the main characters, but I'm hoping they'll make appearances in it if they're not! I can't wait to read it anyway! As I said, the cover for this book is stunning! It really intrigued me and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it! It's so pretty! Big thank you to Sarah for an ARC of Kill Devil Hills and for having me on her Blog Tour!
