Synopsis: The story before the love story….
When he lost the only woman he’d ever loved, it seemed there was nothing left to live for.
Even as a boy, all Ben Covington ever wanted was to spend forever with Dahlia London, the beautiful girl next door...then one life-altering decision tore them apart and he was forced to leave her.
Now, despite having returned to win her back, he’s still alone. She’s with someone else—someone she’s never going to leave.
Resigned to a future without his former girlfriend, Ben numbs his broken heart in a haze of liquor and women. But then the only woman who ever even turned his head while he was with his girl reappears unexpectedly. And he’s never forgotten their one incredible night together. But will Ben’s destructive behavior destroy his future with her before it even begins?
I'm a really big fan of this series, so when I was offered the chance of an ARC of this novella and the next book in the series, I jumped at it! This novella was so freaking good! I have to admit that it did start out a little slow, but then another character was introduced and the plot started to speed up a bit! The plot was so good! I couldn't get through it fast enough! I really enjoyed it! I loved getting to go inside a character's head that really intrigued me in the other books in this series! It really helped my understand him better! I also loved that the plot of this book sort of took place as the events of the first book in this series were taking place! I think it was the first book's events that this book took place during lol! It could have taken place over the first two books! I overall loved the plot and it was developed brilliantly! I also loved that it was longer than some other novellas that I've read! It really gave me a feel for the characters and the story that the author created! The characters were amazing! This novella was told from Ben's point of view, which is one reason I couldn't wait to read it! Ben was a pretty important character in the first two books in this series, but he wasn't the main one! He really intrigued me, so I'm really happy the author gave him his own novella and book for him to tell his story! Ben was such an interesting character in this novella! I watched as he drank and drank until he couldn't even remember his own name, and then I watched as he came to terms with what he had been through and start to turn his life around! I was impressed! I just loved Ben and I loved how far he came in this novella! The love interest of Ben, Bell, was also introduced in this novella and I just loved her when she was in it! She wasn't in it a lot though, but she was in it enough! Bell was feisty, but you saw a bit of a softer and more vulnerable side to her in this novella too! I can't wait to read more about her because I have a feeling I'm going to freaking love her in the full length book in Ben's story! I can't wait to read the next book in this series! I know it's going to continue Ben's story and I can't wait to see how his relationship with Bell is going to develop! And I'm super lucky that I already have an ARC of it so I can start reading straightaway lol! The ending of this novella also set the next book up perfectly! The cover for this book is absolutely stunning! I just love how well the models on the front suit the characters of Ben and Bell! I also love how well the cover matches the other covers in the series! Big thank you to Kim for an ARC of Blurred!
