I was pretty excited to read this book when I got an email from the author asking me if I would like to be on the Blog Tour! I've heard of this author's other series, but I haven't had the chance to read it yet! This book also sounded like my kind of book and the new cover is so hot! I do have to say that this book started off really good and then it quickly made me really confused! I felt like I had missed the first book in the characters story! That's why I took it down a star! I read this book in one sitting though because it was a good, sort of short length! The plot also wasn't what I expected! I was expecting it to be completely different and go in a different direction to what it did! There were also quite a few questions raised in the plot, which I hope get answered as this series continues! The plot was quite mysterious though and it did intrigue me because I wanted to know more! I also liked the development of it, even though it did make me confused near enough from the start! I liked the overall plot though and that there were some hot scenes in it too! The characters were really good! Brooke was the main character and the synopsis tells you that she's sort of involved in something dangerous! Brooke's story was quite unexpected though! I mean, the synopsis gives you the idea that she's in danger, but what actually happened to her made my heart go out to her! I wouldn't have got the impression that she been through what she had because Brooke was quite a strong character and she seemed able to cope with it all! Brooke was suspicious of people though, which I could understand, and I liked that she kept her wits about her! Jett was the love interest of Brooke and he was so damn hot! I had the suspicion that Jett was hiding something in this book, and my suspicion was right! What Jett was hiding though was pretty big, but I think it will probably have more of an effect in the next book! He kept several secrets in this book actually! I'm not sure if I trust him yet because of all the secrecy! Jett was super protective of Brooke though and I could see that he had feelings for her! I'm not sure though if his secrets are worth more to him than his feelings for Brooke! It's fair to say that Jett's character really intrigued me and I can't wait to see what he's going to do in the next book! I'll definitely read the next book in this series, even though this book wasn't as amazing as I was expecting it to be! I'll read the next book though because I want to find out how everything's going to progress! I also got to the end of this book and it told me that this series is a prequel series to the author's Surrender Your Love series! I didn't know this, so it would probably have made more sense for me to read that series before this one! I would recommend that before you read this book! As I said, the new cover for this book is so hot! I prefer this cover over the old cover, but the old cover did have a hot body on it lol! Big thank you to J.C.
