1. Favorite movie of all time?
Ugh, that's a tough one. I love movies. I would have to say Rocky Horror Picture Show. It's a musical, and it's completely messed up!
2. If you could time travel to one place/event where would you go?
I'd definitely go to the 1700's England. I adore historical romances and would totally walk around in the ballgowns with a million petticoats.
3. If you could be someone else for a day who would you be?
A male. A preferably hot male, just so I could see what it's like to be the opposite sex.
4. Were you in any clubs in high school?
Yes, I was actually in Chess Club, but not because I like chess or am any good at it. I sucked then, and I suck now. BUT the coach's son was hot, so I joined. After a while, the coach stopped trying to get me to actually learn anything.
Yay during our wildly fun and sometimes slightly inappropriate skype sessions Desiree decided she’d share this little mini excerpt with you from her original work (so you won’t find it in The Prophecy now, since it’s been edited)!
5. Can you give us your favorite line from your first draft of The Prophecy that didn’t make it through final edits?
Oh lordy, it was an entire SCENE! I really wished it would have made it in, but it didn't flow well when I revised the draft. I wrote it originally in third person, but ended up hating it and had to go back in and re-write it in its entirety in first. Here's part of the scene I wish had made the cut :)
(Still in third person, didn't even make it through the revision (unedited). Rose took Star to The Hallow, the only under age club in Shiloh. They end up running into Andrei and Gabe ^.^)
"Oh Jesus H guys, just cut out the crap, will you?" Star finally snapped out. Freezing, both Andrei and Gabe shot wide eyes her way. "I'm seriously getting tired of men in general. First, Mr. Feely thinks it’s okay to grab people up and try to dry fuck them on the dance floor..."
"Who did what?!" Gabe shouted, face flushing in anger.
"Then, you two want to have it out because one touched my arm and the other danced with me. Seriously, I hardly know either of you, and no, I don't want to date either of you. You," she said, pointing to Gabe, "Already have a girlfriend, so you really don't have a right to be pissed off at Andrei. And you," she said, turning to Andrei and poking him in the chest, being unable to resist touching him even in her rage, "don't have any claim over me in any way, shape or form. Yes, thanks for saving me from Mr. Feely, but Gabe isn't a Mr. Feely, so chill the fuck out!" A muscle pulsed in Andrei's jaw as Star finished her outburst.
Turning to the sound of applauding in the background, Star rounded on Rose. "Are we done yet?"
She growled at her. Nodding, Rose turned to the boys.
"Always fun," She said with a smile, "Maybe next time you'll hold off the whole 'my dick is bigger than yours' thing until you're in the locker room." With a wink, she turned and followed Star out of the Hollow.

ReplyDeleteUgh, deciding three favorite books is like deciding which of my kids is my favorite (they're all equally evil and equally cute).
I'll just throw three out here at random lol. The Premonition Series (I consider series to be one book, don't judge) by Amy Bartol, Dirty Blood Series (again, one book to me, the story isn't complete until the end) by Heather Hildenbrand AND Improper English by Katie McAlister (sp?)(it had me laughing until I cried, then crying until I started laughing. Total emotional mess while reading. Have read it 5 times already and still grab it).
I'm weird when it comes to book boyfriends. If there's a character in a book that I want, and the female MC gets him, I want to jump into the book and SLAUGHTER the female MC, no matter how much I may like her or how important she is to the story. When I find a book boyfriend, he's mine! lol. But I have to say that Brennus from the Premonition Series is my all-time-favorite book boyfriend. He's evil (hot), he's a fairy turned vampire (hot), he's HOT (hot) AND he's a complete bad boy with the potential to change (but why would I want him too?)
