Review: Wait for You [Wait For You 01] by J. Lynn!

Publication date: 26th February 2013
Paperback edition: 332 pages
Source: Kindle
Rating: 5 stars
Synopsis: Some things are worth waiting for…

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for…

This book was absolutely amazing! I was captivated by page one and it just got better and better! The plot actually took a while for something to happen and for the main characters to confess their secrets to each other but the last 15% of this book was a whirlwind! It was the climax of the book where everything came together and the truth came out! There are quite a lot of books these days that seem to be focusing on the same issues in the plot and Wait for You is no exception! These issues aren't addressed enough in society so I am very glad that authors seem to be focusing on them more and helping people while doing so! The characters were amazing! I instantly connected with the main character, Avery, and I think that she was an amazingly strong character! She has been through a lot and to go through what she did at such a young age was terrible! My heart broke for her when we found out what she had been through and how much it had impacted her life! I didn't really like that Cam trusted her enough to tell her his secret but Avery didn't trust Cam enough and she held back a little! I was so happy when Avery told him her secret as it made their relationship better as they didn't have any secrets between them! Jennifer has a way of making me fall in love with all of her male characters and Cam was no exception! He was absolutely perfect and he supported Avery amazingly! Cam had been through a lot as well and I wasn't expecting his secret to be what it was to be honest but it was understandable why he did what he did! Cam and Avery as a couple were on fire! They had so much sexual tension when they around each other and I loved it! The secondary characters in Wait for You were amazing! I loved all of them and they brought so much to the story! I can definitely see why this book is a standalone but I could see definitely see potential for another book! The cover is absolutely beautiful and it really suits the book!

Wait for You
