Synopsis: Half-vampire Abby Tate is determined to learn more about the sorceress powers that were awakened inside her when she was turned into a vampire—making her a whole new hybrid species. There’s a group of rogue vamps banding together and forming a Resistance against the vampire governing body, The Head Council, and Abby’s newly discovered powers are the key to the Council’s victory. Now the Resistance will do anything possible to remove the hybrid threat, and with no other options, Abby is forced to rely on the aid of the Council, yet can she trust the very vampires that hunt for her human lover? And even worse, can she fight the unwelcome attraction that’s growing between her and one of those ancient vampire rulers?
This book was so different to the first book in the series but I still loved it! The characters had changed a little bit and the plot was developed thoroughly! The plot was full of action! It just kept getting better and better and it was one big climax! The plot to me was again an original take on vampires as Ashley has made them her own and really shown a new side to them as opposed to other vampire books that I have read! The characters were again amazing! Abby was so different to what she was like in the first book as she had grown stronger and she had become slight more familiar with her vampire abilities! She also discovered some new abilities in this book as well! I really enjoyed her in this book as her changes were positive and she even though she made some wrong decisions in the last book she tried to rectify them in this book! Trace, who is a member of the council, became a major character in this book as he forms a relationship with Abby! I wasn't expecting Trace and Abby to form a relationship to be honest but I did enjoy their relationship and also the development of it! Some characters were killed off unexpectedly in this book and I was not expecting that to happen at all but it was part of the plot and I was quite upset with who was killed off but in a way I was glad as well! I loved that some characters that I loved in the first book were also in this book as well! The ending was so awesome! It was unexpected which has made me really want to read the next book in this series! I am not 100% sure on the cover to be honest! I like it and it does suit the book but I'm not sure if it would make me pick up the book if I discovered it without being on the Blog Tour! It does grab your attention though due to the vibrant colours! Big thank you to Ashley for providing me with a copy of Crimson Flames and to Amber for having me on the Blog Tour!
