Paperback edition: 391 pages

Synopsis: Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…

That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.

Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.

Favourite quote: "I want you to keep them open...because I need you to watch me give you the very last piece of my heart."

One of the best books I have ever read! It honestly deserves so much more than 5 stars! I believe that this book is going to stay with me for quite some time and I have absolutely no idea what took me so long to read it but I am so glad that I decided to sit down and read it one day as it is one of the best decisions that I have ever made! The plot of this book just blew my mind! It started quite simple and plain and then it just went boom and the whole plot changed and I was glued to it! It went in a direction that I was not expecting it to go in at all and the synopsis gives you no idea about it so you are left with your mouth hanging open in shock! It also had action and suspense in it as well! The plot got to a stage where I found it difficult to read because it deals with some serious issues that no child should have to go through but the author did an amazing job of executing the issue and also showing the consequences of how the aftermath of the issue can affect someone's life! The characters were amazing and written perfectly! Sky was the main character and she went through so much in this book during such a short period of time and I felt so sorry for her! You could see her grow stronger and become more determined to find out about her life and to find out the truth after she had been lied to for years! Dean 'Holder' was so hot! He helped Sky so much I loved how protective he was of Sky and you could really see how much he loved her! Holder and Sky as a couple were on fire! The passion and the love between the two of them was amazing and so real! They are honestly one of my favourite couples! The secondary characters were amazing and really supported the main characters! I am really looking forward to reading the next book in this series which is Hopeless told from Holder's point of view! I also am in love with the cover!

Hopeless (Hopeless, #1)
